Would you put something away in your house to protect a damn squatter? He shouldn’t even be there so why should she deprive herself of what she wants. If they were in a healthy relationship (of any kind), that would be different, but who forgoes their own needs for someone who they’ve told a million times to get out of their home. Yes, he needs to get better, but she doesn’t owe him any support after the way he has treated her.

People react differently to trauma and after the loss of their child he definitely handled her wrong, but if you gave him 30 days and he's paying half of everything. So, yes, he is a squatter at this point b/c he’s been told to leave a million times and won’t. I don’t care that she changed it to thirty days b/c he’ll still be sitting there raising hell once those days are up.

What trips me out is too many women (NOT ALL) have a serious problem with accountability. And, too many sooooooo want to be married and the big wedding, and everything, but don't have a clue on what it takes to stay married and truly be a loving partner. Some men as well. She can want that for him, but she is not obligated to take an active role in that journey along with him. It seems best for him to not be there, especially if stress with Erica triggers him so. It is a passive aggressive way of DC trying to control the situation and her by refusing to leave the house and walking around huffing and puffing every other day.
We know that Erica is on some nonsense, but DC is on some nonsense too. It’s not like he’s not getting any money, so if Erica and what she is doing is such a trigger, why not leave? On the other hand, I DO think that she should have given him that money for the down payment back with legal guidance to ensure that he has no rightful claim to that house.

But she’s responsible for helping to ensure her DAUGHTER doesn’t have the ADDITIONAL trauma of a drunk dad living in the house because SHE has alcohol there. Yes, he should leave. But since she’s letting him stay no alcohol should be there because a drunk DC is extra stress their daughter doesn’t need. If he chooses to get drunk, it should be from OUTSIDE the house.
