Lol so I wasn’t the only one that recoiled by that totally dick move . I’m not even close to a safety nut. Safety third. But he kept touching the chain with his hand on the handle. Ugh.
Chainsaw bar oil not only lubricates, but also cools. The bar and the chain will expand at different rates; chain probably isn't even expanding at all.
Ok this is why I respect Tyler ( if your listening) He is very humble and not full of so much pride that he can't repeat a segment that was suggested in the comments. If he sees that people are saying no you should try it this way , he doesn't ignore them but instead he tries it again knowing that he might have messed up. That right there deserves respect and that is how it should be. Always stay humble.
The bar heats up and expands, but the chain doesn't, so it gets tighter. That's why you should always loosen your chain when you store it. If you don't, it can warp the bar as the bar continues stretching for a few minutes after use.
I live in the south, but I’ve heard stories from up in cold parts of Canada of crankshaft getting warped from the chain stored too tight in extreme cold temps
You just gave me a mini heart attack with that edit. You grab the chain then edit immediately to the grinder being on. I thought you lost your fingers for a second
Hoping to see this become a trilogy, then be like a franchise where you Oh it's Halloween let's use it to carve the pumpkin 🎃, oh time to take down the Christmas 🎄, let's pull the saw out again.
I don't know if you will see this or not Tyler, but if you do, the reason you chain got tighter at the start was from you bar moving up so hold the tip of your bar up when setting chain tension, if you don't when you cut it will push the bar up and the chain will go tight.
Love that not only does Tyler or editor read comments, but follows up with them. There is some good info on chainsaws in the comments and I expect nothing less than to see the ongoing series. What won't our grindersaw cut?
Everyone has already mentioned this, but you need to oil the chain with the reservoir (and chainsaw oil). The reason it gets tighter is because everything expands when it's hot.
More of these videos bro I want you to do deep dives on the weird stuff you've brushed past previously. Maybe even real life reviews like going camping and taking a bunch of products to see how well you do in the wild with this stuff!
I get goosebumps every time you touch the saw chain without unplugging the angle grinder. I kept thinking when is he going to lose his fingers :S. but good video
Worked at hf for 2 years. Honestly they’ve got a decent amount of good stuff. But I have learned which items to never ever buy lol. Lots of battery chargers came back, obviously the cheap cheap power tools. Hand tools, generators, and engines seemed solid for the most part
Battery powered chainsaws are great on paper but when you really have to do some cutting gas is the way to go in my experience. I did tree work for 7 years.
@@themightycrixus1131 You're right but battery chainsaws are great for pruning, small work, and way better than this item. My comment is more to him saying if he could "get a high quality of this" at that point one should get a real chainsaw, battery one, or even a corded one. His "liking" the product is to save on buying/reducing cost of multiple tools. Like you said you would not use a battery for actual tree work, well you would not use this tool either.
My saws do that. Also you never want to tighten the chain when it's hot. Let it cool down then tighten. I've seen where someone tightened the chain when it's hot and when it cooled down it am sometimes warp the crank and damage the clutch drum and bearings
You wanna tighten the chain just enough to where it holds itself in to the bar. That’s what I’ve done with my chainsaw. That may be different. Either way that Bauer grinder is nice too. I’ve had one for over a year and still going strong.
The chain got hot that's why it got loose metal expands when it gets hot you probably need to put some oil on that chain I doubt that thing has self-moving borrow on it so you should probably put some bar oil on it that's why it's getting hot
Whats happening is the tightening system on it is cheapish so even though its "tighten" down, the jerk of the chain will still move the bar so it will tighten on the push cut and loosen on the pull cut. Normally jerky or hard cutting will cause it and cutting something dry like a dried 4x4 can do that.
Harbour freight has some decent power tools... I got a Cordes "sawzall" years ago, abuse it leaving it outside over winter, and it still works. Edit. Cuts 6 inch logs with a pruning blade great. Does about everything I would use a chainsaw for.
We have a bolens weed eater at lowes and it has a bunch of attachments that can go on it. And some other ones that go on other but most stuff fits on bolens. I’m in Louisiana but maybe you have the same stuff.
I am actually buying one now. I don't need an actual chainsaw, I just need to cut firewood into smaller pieces for my backyard pit just a few times a year. I already have a harbor freight warrior grinder I bought to grind ONE bolt last year. This would be perfect for my application and put a grinder to use that's otherwise collecting dust. Even the cheapest chainsaws on amazon are 100+ bucks.
Um harbor freight sells a corded chainsaw that is just less than $50 all day. Half decent, and has bar oil to lube the chain... YOU NEED TO DO A STRESS TEST!!! I CHALLENGE YOU TYLER AS ANOTHER FELLOW TYLER. ANGLE SAW VS CHAINSAW. CORDED POSSIBLY CORDLESS (if you wanna fully test the subject) 😂
the chain heats up and expands the chain you need bar oil all chain saws electric gas grinder chain saws it also helps cool it and if it heats up to much could get stuck or brake it and fly off you should have logger chaps since u like shorts so much dangerous as heck if it Flys off
Am I the only one that jumped when he touched the chain and then the flashback started? I thought for a split-second he started it while touching the chain.
My guess as to why it’s slower at cutting now than before is just that the Bauer grinder doesn’t get up to as high of rpm’s as the Milwaukee or that the torque is different between the two. Either way love the video and update 👍
if i'm not mistaken it's a bit of both but more the torque. Project Farm is your friend when it comes to testing brands and their products about as fairly as you can.
The resivor on the top is for chain bar oil. Without oil the chain heats up and risks the bar seizing up. Cool video though
You can see that there is some oil in it, and i dont think it comes with oil form package.
Let him destroy it, It's why I watched till the end. No oil on chain is hilarious.
