.. Like a college degree; regardless of whether a person uses it in the work place or not, once it's earned no one can ever take that honor away from you
Winning the national should mean that you have qualified to take pro status and compete in pro competitions but until you actually compete you are not a pro yet
Ron, DJ was my coach (in fact I was the first person he took pro when he started coaching), I earned my card at the North American when I was in my 50's. I did three regional shows and four national shows before I earned it. Back then, you needed to take it all to achieve IFBB status. And, the classes were much larger. It wasn't uncommon to have 20 to 40 competitors in a class. In my first NA in Cincinnati, Dallas walked of as on the youngest to earn his. Unfortunately, he won't grace the stage again. However, and regardless, I will today and always refer to him and IFBB Pro. Just wanted to add my two cents.
@@danielbowes5970 not sure I’d say that. - Hadi and Derek are very close- Martin almost beat a super flat Lunsford- Nick has never been close to beating Hadi or Derek yet.
@RonHarrisMuscle i believe there's a separate, equally hard and long school graduates of bud/s must attend after successful completion of which you are awarded your navy trident and become a seal.
They've handed out cards like candy, now, they want some return so one needs to use it and pay more money. This whole thing is one big scam. This is the only "sport" where you make nothing and pay to the owners. Disgusting.
@@anthonyvenegas8299 pretty sure no one’s gonna be forced to compete to keep their pro card, they just have to continue paying their annual membership fee
DJ is spot on ! 💯💯

That makes a lot of sense. There are tons of people calling themselves pros but have never competed in a pro show.
@@unimoose If I never suited up and at least rode the bench during an NFL game, am I really a pro football player?

@@TheMrd140 respect! I know what you mean- at my final contest, the 2013 Masters Nationals, there were 34 men in my class, Over 40 Heavyweight
Ron Partlow also turned down his pro card because he didn’t win the overall
Rare to see that!
Ron would you say hadi, Derek, nick and Martin are all literally so close at there best? Flip of a coin close?

You can't call yourself a navy seal just bc you *attended BUD/S
But if you complete the course, you are a Seal for life, right?
