T.P. O.K. Jazz - Kizungu-zungu (1991)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- Song, composed by Papa Noel, performed by the T.P. O.K. Jazz at a concert in Paris in 1991. Lead singer: the late Aimé Kiwakana, supported by Lola Djangi 'Chécain' and Lukoki Diatho.
Note the strange balance in the mix, with an emphasis on Lutumba Simarro's 'guitare accompagnement'. Papa Noel's guitar is almost inaudible.

Since I stumbled on this beautiful masterpiece , I have watched it non stop several times.
The great TP OK Jazz Band ! Their music will never be forgotten . This band , and their mentor Franco , gave us so much beautiful Rhumba music . Their music will always be appreciated .
We Africans Are very rich not only in Natural Resources ,but in everything ......
This was after the death of Le Grand Maîtré Franco Luambo Makiadi(RIP).
Big up Aimé Kiwakana(RIP) the lead vocalist here. With the back up of Djo Mpoyi(RIP), Lola Checain(RIP) & Diatho Lukoki. Guitarists are Flavien Makabi ~ bass, Lutumba Ndomanueno aka Simaro Massiya ~ rhythm, Bohomba Boteku Pierre aka Franco Mongo ~ mi-solo & Nedule Nono aka Papa Noel ~ solo
Grand merci pour ces précieuses informations.

Yes, most of these legendary artists are gone. Really sad!! Rest In Perfect Peace dear brothers, you are truly missed. To be absent from us with the body is to be present with God in Heaven. Please continue to release more hits until we meet someday another ten thousand years to come!!!
Play all the music you want but none beats TP OK Jazz
Must have watched this video 100 times. So good and Carlitos as well.
Kiwakana's unique vocals underpinned many of OK Jazz's numbers....a beautiful voice indeed...had a distinctly sweet-sad haunting/ or call it infectious/ edge to it ....the glue that held the vocal ranges together in unison...This Artist just like his colleagues Lukoki, and to some extent Checain , never received the broader mention and acclaim which was certainly duly DESERVED!!!!
The comment equally applies to Papa Noel (NONO) the composer who also produced (Bon Samaritan)whose works still stand out
Very true the unsung heroes of TPOK jazz dont know why
Very true brother i hear Franco sidelined them coz they were very close to Simarro lutumba , and if ur very keen you'll notice they only appeared on Lutumbas compositions
@George Ojwang I beg to differ. TP OK Jazz was teeming with talent. Again it should not be lost to us that Lutumba Ndomanueno aka Simaro Massiya (RIP) was recruited into TP OK Jazz primarily as a composer and was the main song writer for TP OK Jazz and also played rhythm guitar in most of his compositions. He was the soul of the band and no one including Franco himself composed more songs than Le Poeté who also deputised Le Grande Maitre as vice president of TP OK Jazz. In the 80s Aimé Kiwakana featured in many songs especially as back for Josky and even had his own composition like "Eperdument" under the TP OK JAZZ label. The quartet of Josky Kiambukuta, Aimé Kiwakana, Lokombe Ntal, and Madilu System teamed up in a number of albums or LPs
❤
I was lucky enough to attend two concerts they performed in Dar es Salaam. They went back to Kinshasa and split up effectively ending the TP OK Jazz reign. Bana OK was formed as an outcome of that sad milestone.
I was too young those days..... standard one at mapambano primary school dsm
TPOK couldn't hold together without Franco
@@kags5779 Franco was TP OK Jazz and TP OK Jazz was Franco
@@ANDAREJO you are right.
Francos family brought the split, they still wanted lions share even after francos demise
Great stuff. Really like Aime Kiwakana's voice
The voice of Kiwanaka which I mentioned was missing in the HOMMAGE of Josky
Real, original and vividly team-delivered.
TPOK Jazz remains one of the most professional band with every member the ''best among equals''!
Well said
This is a great piece. Aime Kiwakana rest in Peace.
Very true the unsung hero in the TPOK jazz
Great siinging. RIP.
May the soul of Kiwakana continue resting in peace
Aimé kiwakana, Belle voix original que ton âme repose en paix.

Fantastic performance
Aime Kiwakana😍😍
There used to be a full version of this whole concert but sadly, UA-cam terminated it.
Do you have any link?
This voice of aime kiwakana tpok jazz ilike it,,
The name of this track is "Madiabuana". A composition of Papa Noel. At the vocals is Aime Kiwakana.
I understand why you think that this song is called 'Madiabuana', - but it is not. On the original lp the titles were mixed up. If you listen to the songs, however, you will soon discover which title belongs to which song.
The composer and lead vocal are already mentioned, by the way.
@@WorldSrv Thats tue. This song and madiabuana are different. I think theres a mixup between the two. They are both in the album Bel Ami, done by Papa Noel.
I think the original vocalist was Carlito Lassa
@@johnmapunda99 yes he was
Je me souviens ces années là bon samaritain avec papa Noël de belle voix de djo mpoyi aime kiwakana et Lola checain
The most painful thing is that ¾ of the vocalist that is Djo Mpoyi, Lola & Aime died 18 months later after Franco Luambo
Just like Pele was a complete footballer, Franco was a complete musician. Very good both on the guitar 🎸 and as a vocalist and you know what their origin is from Zaire the current DRC!!! So DRC produced the best in these two legends that the world witnessed and actually saw!
A great composition and arrangements
vraiment la vie des hommes sur terre n'est qu'un passage 🚶

@Worldserv please post the rest of the 1991 Paris tour as well.
❤😂 very interesting
Sadly, the lead vocal here (aime kiwakana) died a year after this concert due to a brain tumor
Other than Pap Noel, it seems that everyone else on that stage is dead. That's sad because this event is less than three decades old and most of these folks were in their 40s then. Life expectancy of Congolese musicians, and people, is really low.
I can see Flavien Makabi on bass, I think he is still alive, not sure if Lola is also dead
Lukoki diatho is also alive I hope
@@manferdbitala777: Makabi is alive; Lola is dead. Not sure of Diatho but if you say he's alive, then he's alive, and that's good news.
What caused this low life expectancy? Was it the SIDA pandemic?
@@ANDAREJO A handful of them succumbed to it but most of their deaths stemmed from overindulgence in alcohol and drugs. Added to their peril was impoverishment -- the money they made wasn't commensurate to their excruciating workloads. Those who didn't write songs barely made livings, even some song writers were cheated. Long after Franco was dead, Lola Chechain found out (from a reporter who was interviewing him) that a song he had submitted to the band in the late 1980s, but was told that it didn't make the cut, was actually released by Franco on a different label and made lots of money, none of which a he saw a dime. He asked for the song to be played to him (which the reporter did) for him to believe that the song was indeed released.
Top hit
😭😭😭😭😭💔
That's a keen observation on the sound level mix of Simaru's rhythm guitar versus Papa Noel's lead. Pity Aimé, Lola and Djo Mpoyi died in quick succession after this.
Great job by Aime, now Paul is Papa Noel still alive, a great composer and guitarist in his own right
Hello Maddo! Lola Checain is still a life. we lost Djo Mpoyi and Aime Kiwakana.
@@peterabwao3150 Lola Djangi Checain died in 1992

@@kennedyontuga9106 His real name is Bohomba Boteku Pierre alias Franco Mongo. He joined TP OK Jazz after Franco’s death but died soon after. He was to fill Franco’s singing and lead/mi-solo role. Rumor has it he was cursed for filling Luambo’s shoes
This is a composition by papa noel for the album Bel ami
