Thanks, Jason and Pete, for the this Ranking The Albums episode. Not familiar with the band prior to your ranking but will be listening to your top picks. That's why SoT is such a great channel to watch.
Don't really know these Norwegian bands, but would like to visit Norway. Cool, and extreme all rolled into one. You guys have a great way of telling the story. Thanks Jason, and thanks Pete.
Here's my ranking: 1. Isolate - 2. The 1st Chapter - 3. Nine - 4. Havoc There is a bonus track on The 1st Chapter called Imperial Destruction which is KILLER! The riff is absolutely massive and the song is overall very very good. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/P34t9mfhsgc/v-deo.html
Another great band!! Michael Erikson is a great singer. 4) Havoc - disappointing 4th album, but a few highlights: Chivalry, Flames, Weight, and Pages 3) Isolate - Ultimate Sacrifice, A Darkened Mind, and Sane No More are highlights. 2) Nine - LOVE Burn After Reading - it's a favorite. Other killer tracks are Architect of Fortune, Used, Last Goodbye, and Namaste. 1) 1st Chapter - Incredible!! I like or love every track, especially Glory of the Empire, Haunted Dreams, The Prophecy, and The 1st Chapter. Thanks for doing this one and the Pagan's Mind ranking!
Michael Eriksen from Circus Maximus, and Jorn Viggo Lofstad from Pagans Mind have a new band called "The Revivel" and they have a album coming out in late 2022.
@AdrianJeffreys-fj2fv if it happens. Pagans Mind are back together, and has booked several shows already. According to sources they are also in the studio finalizing their long planned album.
1. First Chapter 2. Nine (could easily be #1 too; love this one) 3. Isolate 4. Havoc (was very disappointed with this one, but it has started to grow on me a bit)
Wither is honestly one of my favorite songs ever. I tend to go for the more melodic end of these guys. The singer is incredible, with such a unique tone as was expressed by Pete.
Guess no one gonna read this, but I have just digged in to this band and Havoc is one of the best albums I heard for a long time. Better than the debut. Still waiting for two other to arrive.
4. Havoc (I like this album a lot more than most fans seem to, but the other albums are practically untouchable.) 3. The First Chapter (I know this tends to be a fan favorite, but the top two are just too damn good. Not a huge fan of the title track, and I love long songs.) 2. Nine (The only thing wrong with this album is that it isn't Isolate.) 1. Isolate (The epitome of a perfect album from front to back. In heavy rotation for the 15 years it has been out!!!)
NINE is my favourite by far. Great production and songs. The 1st chapter and Isolate equally enjoyable albums for me and Havok my less favourite. They made one of the funniest videos i've ever seen for a ProgPower USA promo 😅 ( some polka/mexican corrido style )
I’m from Norway, but I’ve never been a fan of CM. Havok is by far their weakest, but none of the others are masterpieces in my opinion. The first 3 albums are decent 3-4/6, nothing more.
Don't have anything by these guys & not really interested but just a note: This is not the late 60's US band who played psyche rock, not bad. I have two of theirs (their debut & Neverland Revisited)
One of my favorite bands for the last fifteen years, never disappoint. I'd say "Nine" is still my favorite album 🍺🤘
I never really got into these guys. Nothing against them, they're just a band that's been under my radar. I'll give them a listen after this video.

2) Isolate
3) 1st Chapter
4) Havoc
Having discovered and signed the band I can state unequivocally the albums should be ranked 4. Havoc 3. Nine 2. The First Chapter 1. Isolate.

@@rareacts9868 good news all I need i Adagio and Thy Majestie get their shit together there both due for an album
Yeah, I think The Revival needs a good reviving. I bet it is a dead project. Probably ran out of money.

Seems it’s just me that likes Havoc a lot.
1 Havoc
2 First chapter
3 Nine
4 Isolate.
Darkwater's third album 'Human' is the album Circus Maximus should have made. Darkwater stole their wind.
Wither is honestly one of my favorite songs ever. I tend to go for the more melodic end of these guys. The singer is incredible, with such a unique tone as was expressed by Pete.

NINE is my favourite by far. Great production and songs.
The 1st chapter and Isolate equally enjoyable albums for me and Havok my less favourite.
They made one of the funniest videos i've ever seen for a ProgPower USA promo 😅 ( some polka/mexican corrido style )
Great idea for a new rant show. Why new cars dont come with CD players.
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a HVS about how we listen to music
Luckily my car is from '99 😆
Pete can you answer me on what happened to Nocturnal Rites? So many long gaps between albums and then nothing
No idea...never really followed them.
@@seaoftranquilityprog Great power metal band i'm surprised you haven't heard them!
Love Nocturnal Rites!
Isolate is my favorite album from them, I like the dark atmosphere, but havoc is my least favorite
Great band, love them since their debut release.
Just looked up the lyrics to Highest Bitter. If you read the lyrics, it's clear that it's a (not very successful perhaps) wordplay.

Ya! Featuring Jerry Jeff Walker, I have the two LPs too. They were a good group!
I'm surprised that you wouldn't be interested. Highly melodic, proggy, and excellent musicianship.
Someone reviewing a prog metal band who admits they hate prog metal. Interesting.
