I'm whatching this video in 2021 and its amazing. Congrats and thank you. I really needed this. By the way I'm donig this in a little different way. I'm conecting the sheet with ppt trough think-cell and its working very well.
Thanks Alex, great chart formatting tips within this video. Love the clean and clear styles 👍 I also use text boxes for some of this stuff like Aline de Souza suggested...I personally think it's faster than formatting charts. You could also set up a chart template to save a bit of time too if you have loads of items the same.
Hi There. An awesome video thank you - lots of help. I am just battling once i have saved both files and closed them. Only some of my VBA scripts are updating automatically. Would you be able to advise why this is?
That is a great video. I am wondering how you did the introduction with the rotating squares? That reminds me of the introduction to the TV show "Suits"
Hi Alex, First and foremost, I am super thankful for those three videos that were superhelpful in creating a Dashboard in Powerpoint! I created several slides & put an Excel file behind it, unfortunately, I frequently face the issue that Powerpoint is giving an error message that says "The linked file is not available. This error can occur...". After checking the related documents in powerpoint, I can confirm that the link is good and relating to the correct Excel data base. By any chance, did you face a similiar issue/ do you have any suggestions (I fear, I simply put too many data & links that lead to a crash of the overall structure...)? Thank you!! Kind regards
Simple question, what is the resolution on the background image? Or is it the file format?Every image I've tried tiles it and doesn't look as nice as yours.
Nice video. I have a question. I am using Office 2016 (not 365). I followed your steps. I copied the excel label from excel into powerpoint. However, without learning your part 3 video, the copy function seems already working. When I changed the content in Excel, the result reflects in powerpoint too. So what is the reason? I do not need to reopen any file. Has there already been some version upgraded? Thanks a lot for comment and reminder.
Hey, I've been using a different workaround, thought it might be useful to share. I create a text box, and add the formula referring the text box to the referring table, and it remains dynamic as well :)
@@carpediemdiemcarpe in order for an instant refresh in power point both apps would need to be open in parallel or saved in a network drive /OneDrive anything of this sort. However even if power point won’t refresh immediately just right click on it in ppt and choose refresh data, it will pull the info which is definitely dynamic in excel
@@alinedesouza4427 Thanks for replying :) If i use the chart-method (like in the video), PowerPoint takes the changes. However, if I use your textbox-method, my PowerPoint doesn't change with Excel. Do you still create an empty chart and create a textbox inside? And if you say "add the formula referring the text box to the referring table", do you mean for example "=$D$16"?
What a great tutorial! I have some data but I really don't know how to put it in a file so that I can use it like you did. Is there any possibility that you can help?
Hi, great tutorial. I have one issue and that is that the Data label size is reset everytime I exit Excel and re-open the file. This results in the dates etc no longer being fully visible in PowerPoint, and I have to resize the data labels again. Any tips?
Hi!! I have a question, if my excel included some formulas in the cells that provided information for the different plots that make that the ppt doesn't work. Do you have a solution?? Cause the ppt just sufered an actualization if I write in the cells
Hi David, sure. Check out Part III of the tutorial. In there, I define a VBA function that is called if something is written in a specific cell range (let's call that 'triggering cell range'). In your case, you have to redefine that 'triggering cell range' as the cells where the actual change is made which is than used in your formula cells. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. :) Have a great day.
271/5000 Hello, I have a problem. I work in Office 2013. Everything works fine until I save my work and run the files again. Then the charts in PowerPoint no longer want to refresh. What should I do? I am asking for help because I have been suffering from it for two weeks.
I hate to ask. I've watched most of the videos with one question in mind. Why? Why use Powerpoint as a front end? What can you get by doing this that you can't get with Excel?
pa beader I have the same question. I understand you have more design and animation capabilities in ppt but for the example I don’t see the purpose of not just using excel. Would love some feedback on the practicality of powering ppt dashboard from excel vs just using excel. Thanks.
Tutorial Part II: ua-cam.com/video/eKRpslgdX0w/v-deo.html
Wow using the chart just for the data label while deleting everything else is a brilliant workaround, finally I found a video that helps me!
I've been waiting for this video since the demo. Man, that's a really great tutorial. Very well explained and easy to understand.
Thank you so much :) Glad you like it!
Thank you for sharing this knowledge! I am creating an important presentation that involves a dashboard for analytics. You’re the real MVP 🏆
Not only you showed me how to do create fancy charts, but you work in a clean manner. Loved it!

Thanks Aline. Great idea 😊
Yes it is dynamic. Instead of redo the work in charts we can use the text boxes inside charts.
Hi Aline :)
Could you please tell me how you did that? The way I tried it, the textbox in PowerPoint won't change with the textbox in Excel :(

Can a drop down be added to the PowerPoint dashboard? And have the information changed based on name toggled to?
Thx alot😍
can we put buttons and filters on powerpoint presentation?

can this be made dynamic by adding filters and dynamic buttons
Can you provide your PPT and xls files?
I have tried to make it according to the video instructions, but there is no change what is wrong if it can be shared files that have been please
Hi Alex I really appreciate your work really great job, could you please send me a copy ? 🤗
Hi Mr. Alex , you can share the download link for this file😇
Hi is there a template
format I can use
Trying to learn this, but the files aren't available.

Hi these videos are very helpful. I need to know, how to get text from excel to PPT. If text have function(like vlookup).
Hi, I have seen everything you've done. Now, what if I want ti store every day's information??
It can happen, definitely, I need a clue. Please Help.

Because senior manager want ppt presentation. Instead of taking screenshot, the dynamic update would be so helpful
hi! is there any excel file available to share with us?
anyone ?
Sorry if someone asked this already but where did you find your chart labels?
Hey Allan, they are both from either the Excel integrated Icon function or from iconmonstr.com.
IS IT ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THE EXCEL FILE IN UR DEMO?
Will not look like utter trash😂😂
