Hi do you know if the height of dwarf cavendish is measured where the leaves start on the trunk or to tip of leaves because i have what i think is a dwarf cavendish that the trunks measures about 4 1/2 ft before leaves and the fruits are only 3 to 4 inchs its been a little over a month since fruiting.

There are several dwarf varieties, but it does sound like you might have the dwarf cavendish. It is one of the most widely distributed varieties (at lease here in the southern US states). Good fruit as well!

We are always on the look-out for new varieties- local nurseries, trading with neighbors, craigslist / facebook. There seems to be more of a selection on Florida's west coast (we're on the east coast) so we hit up nurseries over there when ever we are on that side of the state. If you check out our other videos you'll see my wife has me drive great lengths to get new bananas!

What is the care for the dwarf cavendish banana tree in winter

In zone 10a the only maintenance is water and fertilize. We fertilize with diluted fish emulsion and pee. Yes that’s right, bananas love pee. If you are in a zone where you get a freeze over the winter; you will want to pull up your bananas and wrap the roots with damp newspaper. They will overwinter in a garage or cellar with relatively low maintenance. Keep an eye to keep them a little damp through the winter but not too damp as they will rot. When you plant them after your last frost in the spring they will get started again right where they left off

Hahah bro every leaf that comes out up top looks that way because they still have to grow. It's hard to tell.

Yes every leaf that comes out initially looks like that, but the pre-flag and flag leaves are smaller than the other leaves when they reach full maturity, indicating the plant is about to push out the flower...
