Welcome to this episode of Unlock Project, where we explore hidden gems and unique experiences all around the world. In this episode, we are taking you on a tour of Mega Plaza, the ultimate toy and figurine haven located in Bangkok Chinatown.
Mega Plaza is a must-visit destination for toy collectors and anime fans. This six-story building is home to a vast selection of toys, models, figurines, and IT gadgets. You can find everything from limited edition kits to rare figurines and everything in between.
To get to Mega Plaza, we recommend taking the train or metro to Sam Yot BL30 and exiting at exit number 1. It's a short 5-minute walk from the exit to Mega Plaza, making it easily accessible.
Once you enter Mega Plaza, head to Zone B on the right, where you will find MewToy, a shop that offers a great selection of kits, figurines, magazines, tools, and paints. Further down the lane, you will come across Arkadia, which offers limited edition kits that other stores don't carry.
One of the highlights of Mega Plaza is the impressive collection of figurines, including popular anime and Marvel characters. You'll also find gatcha toys like "Fei Hu," the adorable fat tiger that caught our eye.
While you're there, don't forget to grab a quick bite at one of the crepe stores in the area. Some of the shops in the area also offer acrylic display boxes and third-party Gundam kit stands and support stands in transparent and black colours.
Moving on to level 1, you'll find more figurines than Gundam kits, but if you're interested, take your time to roam the area and look for your favourite anime figurines that you always wanted. For Warhammer fans, Olympia 4 is a must-visit shop located beside Chester Fast Food restaurant slightly beside Spirit Toy shop.
On level 6, you'll find Dream Toys, a shop that caters to Mask Rider fans, and beside it is a POP store called Wawoon, where you can try your luck to find your favourite POP figurines. The mall's event space is also located here, where they hold their Toy Fair.
4.0 Collector Toys on level 6 is a shop that purely sells GK figurines from anime, including One Piece, Naruto, Demon Slayer, Hunter x Hunter, and more. They have a good range of GK figurines of Zoro, and you can't miss the life-sized Boa Hancock figure.
On level 5, you'll find several Gundam stores, but they were unfortunately closed during our visit. However, you can still check out the official Banpresto store, which has an impressive collection of anime figurines.
In conclusion, Mega Plaza is a paradise for anime and toy enthusiasts. From figurines to Gundam kits, there is something for everyone here. Apart from toys, Mega Plaza also offers vintage cameras and second-hand used lenses for photography enthusiasts. Thank you for joining us on this tour of Mega Plaza, and don't forget to like and subscribe to the Unlock Project for more exciting adventures.
