Here is an informative video how to fix an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus if you get a frozen screen and cannot reboot your phone. The key combination to fix this issue has changed on the iPhone 7 opposed to the iPhone 6s and prior. If it does not work on the first try to keeping a few more times.

NOTHING works, which includes fast-clicking the on/off button or (obviously) trying to slide the phone off. Previously I've had to wait HOURS while the phone slowly died from 100% to zero. DUDE THANKS!! my screen froze on me last night (this same scenario happened with my iphone 5 when i had it) but screen froze so i hit the lock button it locked screen went black like normal.. but then the screen wouldnt turn back on but my phone was still on and i could feel the unlock button click and my spotify still played in my truck and phone would ring but screen all black. So I thought i was gonna have to fix it like i did my 5 and open it up unplug battery and plug it back in so it would reboot (which fixed my 5 when this happened) but when i researched how to open the iphone 7 different tools were needed than on my 5 and i didnt have the little thin metal piece to go across seams (all i needed on the 5 was a suction cup) At any rate i was like there has to be a way to get phone to just reboot or shut off with the screen black and not working.. sure enough this did it!!! saved me alot of headache.. thanks man!

My iPhone 7 froze on lockscreen, tried to hard reset it with the Power button and home button press (was unaware the volume down is the one to press), screen went black and it got really really hot. Let it sit and now won't turn on. When connected to my Macbook, it says it's detecting an iPhone in recovery mode and is giving me the option to restore. Phone was updated to the latest available sofware. Is there anything else that could be done? Trying to avoid restore as I have data that I did not back up yet. Thank you!

so I dropped my phone yesterday and a thin strip on the left side of my screen is unresponsive, I had my screen changed 5-6 weeks back because I had cracked it but it'd been working perfectly fine until the drop.
