    Hello MBMARS I had a blast watching your video. The first train should go on your year in review loved the military train nice for Veterans Day. Loved the horn show it was great I loved the echoes it was great. Was the engineer putting on the horn show for you in the CP engine. This might be a little early I would like to wish you A Happy Thanksgiving.
    My best to you always. I love watching trains just before church

    WOW MB great job as always. I LOVE the horn show put on by the CP engine. Bonus on the same train, he had an old SOO LINE BUFFER CAR up front and CP BUFFER CAR in the rear. The roller coaster tracks on the same train, you have simply out done yourself. What else can I say about the Military Train, except, America is truly great again.....makes me proud. Can't wait for the next one, keep them coming please.

    Love the shot at 3:14, I filmed a coal train there and got the same shot of the train going up and down the grade, reminded me of a roller coaster also what camera did you use for the video and did the settings have to be changed foe the night shots ??

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  5 років тому +1

      The rollercoaster in Comer is one of my favorite spots on this line. I used a Panasonic camcorder WXF1 and the only change for the night shots is from autofocus to manual focus and some brightening up in the video production process.

    I'm a retired aircraft mechanic and therefore I'm not good with diesels. Why is the white BNSF 9741 smoking so much? Is it because it's pulling power or just sick? Love the horns, always have!

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  5 років тому

      It's called a buffer car and serves to minimize the effect of an explosion on crews and engines. The buffer at the end is supposed to limit the impact in case of a rear-end collision.

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  5 років тому +1

      Well, first you have to record and produce it in 4k. Then you upload it like any other video and wait until UA-cam has processed it in 4k (which typically takes a couple hours after the upload has finished).

    • @railsimsproductions

      mbmars01 how does one record and produce in 4K? Thank you so much!!!!

    • @mbmars01

      You need a camera or camcorder that is capable of recording in 4k (I use a Panasonic camcorder WXF1) and a software that allows to process 4k (I use Final Cut Pro X).

    How many tanks does one train need to carry?!

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  5 років тому

      I haven't counted, but it also varies. It depends on the unit that is being transferred. Often it needs more than one train to move an entire unit.

      You clearly did lol, explain the screen flashes at roughly 3:30 and 5:30 then

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  5 років тому

      No, I really didn't. These flashes were included in the post-production process. Keep in mind that almost all footage was shot hand-held. I employ at least three levels of video stabilization, the last during the video-editing process. Every single recorded sequence is cut into pieces, post-processed and then they are glued together again. In many cases I manage to do it with much of a glitch visible, but sometimes the differences are too large and I have to include a transition. The 0.3s flashes are the option I find most tolerable. It is certainly possible to do better by investing even more time (on top of the many hours it already takes to produce a single video), but this is just a hobby, not my job, and I can only invest a limited amount of time.
