I enjoyed seeing the show. You do a very professional job with your videos. I did get a sense of how very busy it was as compared to your previous visits. I smiled when I heard that you are becoming such a celebrity. You richly deserve recognition for your multiple skills. But then I thought that it must require a major psychological adjustment for you. Coming from a quiet rural area myself, I can only imagine how jarring it must feel to go from being relatively unknown to meeting people who feel they know you when they are strangers to you. You seem to be pretty well-grounded, so I'm confident you will be able to manage it well. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with all your lovely purchases, especially those amazing stamps.

You do such a great job of interviewing people, Marion. The quilts didn't seem quite as rich this year but other, smaller projects seem to have taken front stage. Makes me happy! The rope-like cotton is quite intriguing - anxious to see how you use it. Reminds me of what I made, as a child, using a empty thread spool with 5 nails in the top. For some reason, we called it corking. Pants with different coloured sides are fantastic. Thanks so much for making this video.
We called that French Knitting. People still do it over here too. The crochet cotton does look a little like that.. I'll have to have a practice with it to see how it moves when crocheted up.

Marion, thank you so much for doing a video again from Harrogate. I so want to visit this show but being down near the NEC it's a long way and the train price is way too high for me. I hope in the future to travel up and stay in a hotel for at least one night so that I can visit this show. Having seen your video from last year it showed how it is different to what we have at the NEC. I have been to Knit and Stitch at Ally Pally once and this is different again. It is however, good to have things on a bucket list to look forward to doing at some point. Thank you for your videos, they are always a joy to watch and or just listen to as I'm stitching, quilting or designing.
I was thinking about maybe going to Ally Pally next year 🤔 But obviously it would mean a train down to London and at least one or two nights stay. It ends up quite expensive! Do you think it's very different in London?

Fun to see everything. I need to find something like that where I live in California. My sister and I were just at a Fiber Fair, so lots of fun yarns and some bags. But no fabrics.
It was a great show and a very, very busy one. I saw some of the stalls that Marion visited, and yes the Cloth Atelier fabrics were soooo tempting. Those miniature dresses that Marion shows in the video were just so special! So much colour, so much inspiration, it's definitely worth a visit if you can get there. Can't wait to see those trousers!

Hi Marion 👋, I’m not really one for shows anymore because I’m not comfortable in crowds, but it did look like there were some nice things to see there. I think, above all I’d really like to visit Harrogate again. My parents lived in Knaresborough, just down the road, for a few years and I used to get my hair cut at a salon in Harrogate whenever I visited them. It’s such a lovely area. It used to be a 5 hour drive from here in South Wales which I did without thinking about it when I was younger. I’m not sure that my aches and pains would let me do it now 🤷🏻♀️ When I pack up and move house, next year, I may be moving slightly north from here, so maybe that would make the trip a bit less of a trek and more feasible for me 🤔 Sarah’s trousers are great. They remind me of the scene in The Good Life where Barbara is repairing a. Pair of jeans with the whole leg of a very 70’s orange pair. I always intended to do that one day. I was a teenager then and actively buying clothes in Charity Shops specifically to Frankenstein them or turn them into something different. Just butchering clothes for the fun of it. 😁Maybe now is the time 🤔 Best wishes Del ❤

What a wonderful show Marion. Thank you for taking us along. I do wish I lived in England and could visit such wonderful shows. I am visiting next year and have timed it to go to the Festival of Quilts but we leave straight after so I wouldn't be there for Harrogate. I’m not really one for shows anymore because I’m not comfortable in crowds, but it did look like there were some nice things to see there. I think, above all I’d really like to visit Harrogate again. My parents lived in Knaresborough, just down the road, for a few years and I used to get my hair cut at a salon in Harrogate whenever I visited them. It’s such a lovely area. It used to be a 5 hour drive from here in South Wales which I did without thinking about it when I was younger. I’m not sure that my aches and pains would let me do it now 🤷🏻♀️ When I pack up and move house, next year, I may be moving slightly north from here, so maybe that would make the trip a bit less of a trek and more feasible for me 🤔
Sarah’s trousers are great. They remind me of the scene in The Good Life where Barbara is repairing a. Pair of jeans with the whole leg of a very 70’s orange pair. I always intended to do that one day. I was a teenager then and actively buying clothes in Charity Shops specifically to Frankenstein them or turn them into something different. Just butchering clothes for the fun of it. 😁Maybe now is the time 🤔 Best wishes Del ❤

It looks like you had a great day! And such lovely things you bought. I have been admiring the fabrics you showed, in particular the Indian fabrics, as those had so many repeats in the fabric. I love “fuzzy cutting” my patches to use in my quilts.
