@quanfa: This is also the 116 movement version. He did not demonstrate the last section (with the "chain kicks") in this video. At any rate what he showed here is exactly the same as what he taught me back in the 1980s ... after he and Yip Chun put out the first 116 Dummy book --the one with the bronze colored cover.

You can tell a mile away Leung Ting is no great fighter and he has never trained that hard (as in cardio running, weights, etc) but at Wing Chun he is very good!

Leung Ting became my Sifu in 1982. Back then he was built like a fighter. He's just getting older.

He seems to use a lot of force against the arms? I was under the impression that's not good. Deflection not impact.

One of my teachers when teaching the dummy said the less noise you make on the dummy, the higher your skill level, because it shows you're keeping good contact and working the angles right, it's not about just banging the arms. His kicks looked more like the leg came up and stomped rather than projecting forward from the ground. Of course different schools change different things, but .. he seems almost angry at the start.

I didn't think Leung Ting did the original 108 movements form (which he did the first half of here). I thought he just used the 116 movements version.

Clear that he never really fought in his life.

Is it actually important whether a Wing Tsun GM has fought in his life? My Si-Fu is also a MOA 9 degree GM and he too has been able to avoid conflict although he could do damage if he had to. A good fight is no fight.

@@fretboardmaster70 Of course it is actually important. Would you learn to cook from somebody who never cooked in his life? Would you learn to drive a car from somebody who cannot drive even in a mediocre level? Of course not.

Das, was er hier demonstriert, ist die Dummyversion ;-)) (So, wie er auf die Arme zuschlägt). Die Unterrichtsversion zeigt nur seinen Schülern.

The best Wing Tsun masters are Tam Choeng Fai, Wan Kam Leung, Kong Chi Keung, etc. Leung Ting and Robin Tsang Wing Tsun King fu is just to fool foreigners.
After three to ten years of training in Leung Ting and Robin Tsang Wing Tsun school, we learned simple basic forms of Wing Tsun only, not the technique of Wing Tsun fighting. They only know how to teach the form and movements of Wing Tsun such as Siu Nim Tau, Bridge-Seeking, Chi-Shou, and Biu Zhi, etc, and do not know how to apply these basic skills to real fighting techniques. Therefore, students who had learned many years from the school, cannot fight anyone. There are no outstanding students from their school.
