- An adorable lion cub at the Denver Zoo recently met his father for the first time.

When has a lioness ever given birth to only 1 cub?
I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that cubs spend plenty of time with their fathers in the wild (relatively speaking given the fact that the average time a male spends as "king" of his pride is about 3 years [being a male lion kinda sucks if you care about longevity]).
The males are usually the ones protecting the cubs while the lionesses are hunting if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure that accidents happen, but the preservation of their own lineage is the whole reason why they kill the previous "king's" young offspring.
Also, for those of you degrading others for disagreeing with you, it's probably wise to not just assume that anyone with a dissenting opinion is speaking only from their knowledge of the "Lion King". Most people recognize that that is a cartoon perfectly fine without your aid thank you very much.

Same thing with polar bears, when born they are nearly the size of a ferret, but they turn into the worlds biggest and deadliest land carnivor, the only one to actively hunt humans, every carnivor has the occasional man eater but polar bears are the only things that commonly stalk humans for miles as they'd hunt any other prey
If you look at the grand scheme of things, energy needs to and has to flow constantly for the planet's survival. Hunting and eating the hunted is just one way of getting energy transferred from one form to another.

They did. That stretch by the father is a greeting, one of a close bond. He fully acknowledged the cub as his and gave it his full attention.

He's in a zoo though. Small enclosure, no room to stretch out. Zoos should have a minimum of miles of open space per lion. Look at the lions in zoos in Asia, all cooped up, nowhere to go, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide; they end up fighting & killing each other. I don't believe in zoos. Always too small a spaces for the animals. If ur going to have a zoo, u should have miles of open space per animal, per exhibit. The animals in zoos, most live miserable lives, in horrible conditions. Not all zoos r the same. Zoos r there to profit off ppl looking at the animals. It's a form of circus.

Considering how quickly the habitat for lions in the wild is disappearing & how they are hunted, killed and/or injured by other predators (including humans), some people should think of the benefits of having animals in protected environments where they are fed regularly & given medical treatment.

Usually they do so to teach them boundaries. Dogs and domestic cats will do this as well

@@QuestionsAnswerz Simba is a very common name given to lions. To a point where I think some zoos will even avoid it. Detroit zoo has a lion named Simba. I visit the Buffalo zoo regularly, where Tobias was from. They also had a lion that was referred to as both Apollo and Simba until he passed a few years ago. There is a white lion cub of the same name that went viral in China earlier this year. Would bet that there are plenty more lions of the same name.
