MERCY ME! Those hills sure are steep but you know how to handle them. That king cutter does a great job. I bought a 6 ft lowery brand bush hog because we live close to where they make them and get a little discount buying direct. Have a blessed and safe day!
That’s nice anytime you can buy direct! I don’t mind the steep spots as long as you have a landing at the bottom. Where I get nervous is when there’s a drop off. Thanks for watching!
Well I've ordered a KK 6ft FH 40hp green rotary mower to match my John Deere tractor from Rural King.I don't have a local Rural King so they will have to ship it to me for $258.It's was still cheaper than buying a bush hog at my local Tractors Supply.I don't have that fancy 3 point adjustable hitch on my 2440 JD so I have to put a little more effort sometimes to hook things up.That's the first thing I did when I bought the 2440 from the dealer in 1978 was to take that pto guard off.I might add a slip clutch, depends on how quickly I go to shearing pins.
@@khtractors I got mine & in the process of getting it set up.Hard getting use to that flex hitch.Mine come with the rear wheel in the second hole,I'm going to try the 3rd hole to lower the back wheel down some more.I got rock ledges & first thing I DON'T want to do is run up on a rock ledge & here we got quite a few of them.I need to get another stop on my rock shaft lever so I don't raise it to high & maybe bend the drive shaft or go to low & plow the blades into the ground.
Nice cutter, we bought a Bush Hog brand, “Squealer” 20 yrs ago. Never had any issue with it a at all. I use a chain on the top link sometimes and other times a hydraulic top link, but the Bobcat and CID mower does most of the rough areas now. Good video🚜🪵👍🏼🇱🇷
Rent the mini! For the windshield they make a product called “plexus” that works well for the polycarbonate side by side windshields. It’s not cheap but I bet it could extend the life of what you’re using before needing replacement. Having the pats quick hitch on the 2501 makes it a little longer so the shaft sizes match to the m7060. Not suprised to see you on another steep hill 😂. Finally a day of no rain here I’m going to try to get a video in, weather has been terrible I watched a video this morning of some people kayaking in the city streets here in CT it’s been bad!
Yes I saw that on the news last night! I was thinking about you all then. Another steep hill, it had been horse pasture and paths were all rutted out making it rough. I will check on the product your talking about for the windshield. Thanks for watching and hopefully you’ll dry out some, we are at the big mouse house in Florida.

@@khtractors my 6ft when it did run left streaks real bad. And with everything I needed something bigger. I just use the 6ft on my 3000 ford for trim work now
@@danieltravis2555 going back and forth on the same side of the field helps with the streaks from the tire. Going back the opposite direction lifts the grass back up to cut. But I have noticed how much better the bat wings cut.
@@khtractors good to know. I just decided to hook to a smaller tractor and don't have to worry about it anymore. I cut a lot of ground so went with the 12ft. It cuts great. And it looks like you mowed with a regular ol mower.
Your property looks kinda like my property in Missouri, up and down. I just moved to mine last year from Florida, which might i say is way too hot, since I grew up in Illinois. The winters aren't too rough here. After 10 years in Florida was enough. I just subscribed to your channel, looks interesting
Ben, your windshield has about deteriorated to the point of using The Force to see where you’re going lol I still have yet to put one on mine 😕 I could watch bush hogging videos of yours all day long - and twice on Sunday! You’re right about the 7 footer. I have a Landpride RCR 2784 and it’s a heavy beast with a cat 5 driveline. Tell me, does moving your top link down to the lower bracket interfere with its ability to flex downward in the low spots? I need to readjust mine as it lifts over the low spots and then scalps the ground badly as I come up on the other side.
I’ve found the lower hole on the tractor works best over all for mine. I’ll probably try to get my windshield fixed this winter, it’s needing replaced for sure. Appreciate all your support Mark, take care!
@@khtractors I hear ya buddy. I bought a new finishing mower last year. It’s a 6’ LMC (made by Shaktiman in India). I wanted a Woods or Bush Hog brand but couldn’t afford it. Way overpriced! I love my LMC and got it for a good price too. It will last many years.
There's a big price difference between the 6 footer & 7 footer,4,5 & 6 footer, price jumps 2 to 3 hundred dollars per foot but the 7 footer is like 1000 to 1500 hundred more.
Ben another great video! Quick question for you and anyone who has an opinion but should I go with r4 tires on my tractor or ag tires? We have pretty steep hills I was told r4 would offer side stability?
I’ve heard radial AG tires try to roll under but bias ply will not. Mine are bias ply. Traction between R4 and AG tread doesn’t even come close. AG tires get an extreme amount more traction. I always use use this as a comparison, Mike had R4 on his M6800 and after changing to R1 it was a completely different tractor when it comes to performance. For my personal choice I’d never get R4’s on my size tractor. Hope this helps but I’m pretty one sided on the tire subject! Thanks for watching!
@@khtractors I think I'll go with the ag that's what I have on my kubota and for a little tractor it sure can work... thank you for answering my question!!! Have a blessed day!
Thanks for the video! I just bought a 6ft cutter myself a few months ago. But I do wish I had that flex hitch. How often do you intentionally slip the clutch?
I don’t intentionally slip it but I’ve heard of people doing that. Usually mine will get slipped at some point every time I use it, it may not stahl plum out but will slip some. I would break shear bolts all the time before. Thanks for watching!
@@khtractors Yes flex hitch definitely preferred. I literally just got back from a job and I ended up not connecting the top link except to travel to and from the field. It works so well, a risk of the PTO shaft binding or even coming apart in the middle tho.
It’s a medium duty, only a 40 horsepower gearbox. Not near enough to handle the tractor power but its all I could justify buying for no more then I use one. Any bigger bushes or trees I uproot with the loader instead of cutting them off. Thanks for watching!
