Best Houdini learning series, We can find lots of hard coding tutorials but nothing like this in the UA-cam about VOPs. Please make tutorials about Volume VOPs. It’s also very mysterious and not similar like geometry. Especially velocity fields, sdf and volume gradient… and so on. Thanks for sharing the free education!
More about vop node!! I didn't understand vop node about a year, just following tutorials without any understanding(still confusing which one is which though), thank you very much!
The best Houdini beginner series. I was lost for 2 years, didn't knew what to learn first in Houdini. I saw a tutorial of "you are learning houdini wrong". He told to learn attributes, P, N, Cd, v, Time, Frames etc. And your tutorial series explained everything clearly with VOPs. I was literally struggling, like what to learn, I wasn't understanding anything. Some people were teaching VEX from the start, so I got scared of this software. They just dive deep in vellums, RBDs, Liquids etc. But I guess now I am on a good track. I am actually remembering Nodes and their functions. I want to ask if I should learn VEX after understanding Houdini's attributes, functions and nodes?
VEX is the written code version of VOPS. If you know one, you know the other. You should get familiar with writing in VEX though, as a lot of tutorials tend to use VEX rather than VOPS
Very much appreciated for the knowledge! Question: It seems like I need to go through all of the basic content here before I can start following your Houdini projects, right?
Thank you for your tutorials. I have a question regarding where to place VOP nodes, in one case you placed it outside of POPNetwork (Attribute VOP), and in another case you used it inside of POPNetwork (Geometry VOP). I wonder does it make any difference in the result or you just showed it just as another usecase possibility.
Its different in the POPnetwork when its running in a dynamic context (dops). The operations are the same, but in dynamic context the operation gets applied every frame. So if you set a VOP that adds 1 unit on the Y dimension of the position, outside of the network it just does it one time, and INSIDE the popnet it would add 1 unit each frame, so over a duration of 100 frames the object would travel up 100 units. Check out my intro to Houdini where I explain this right at the very end

Thank you. I'll definitely make a series on volume vops and all that good stuff in the future!
Just the best

Outstanding explanations! Thank you.
you are rock
This tutorial is so helpful for me. Thank you🙏🙏
My pleasure!
very helpful! thank you
you are amazing man!
thank you!!!
Thanks again!! Ideally I want to do everything in VOPs ))
You can definitely do that !

Exactly, yes. These Intro To courses are meant to be the base on which you can follow the courses
Amazing.. Thank you very much 😊
You're welcome 😊
