You can't adapt a manga like TG in 24 episodes, let alone 12... At minimum the first manga would need 80, and re at least 100. Till that day... We'll wait.
Seidou was my favourite character from the series and his ending always brings me to tears... He was never able to see himself as a fit for society cause of what he'd become and what he'd done.. But at the time his ending fits his character so well. a "loose canon" a knight for those he loved. He dedicated his life to making sure the peace made in Tokyo Remained by hunting down Ghouls who didn't want peace. He made sure those he loved didn't have to fear and the peace of the world remained. A sad hollow ending but a fitting one for the character he was. I also imagined Seidou was a part of Hakitori's camp for renegade Ghouls. A place to lay his head at night and be with those who also cared for him. I always wanted Seidou, Akira and Amon to end the series together once again the dysfunctional family lol :') He was great character and man Tokyo Ghoul was such a special series! I read it for all of my youth and into early adulthood, It's a huge part of me and just hearing ppl talk about it again takes me back to those early days. I love Tokyo Ghoul, my favourite manga of all time! So many memories and nostalgia attached to it. It was nice ot hear you talk about it and reflect on it
He still is my fav character to this day. Fckin loved seidou. He entire character arc was just soo damn good ane i just wished we got some dialogues about his struggles with someone but alas. Shit was soo goood💯😭 i miss the old days
Tokyo ghoul was the very very first manga I read and the first anime I ever watched... It's my number 1.. Its my all time favorite story so much so that I played the song, "we meet again.." (the song that was played when Kaneki and Touka saw each other again in Re at the coffee shop... And Kaneki has tears in his eyes ..I played that song at my wedding when I was walking in and also "Seasons Die One After Another" as we walked out after we were married ❤️❤️
Tokyo Ghoul has remained my favorite manga to this day, through what's soon to be 3 full read-throughs and years of other manga. nothing makes me happier than to see that other people feel the same about the series as I do, so thank you for making this video
Back then, I never knew the word to describe my feelings towards eto. Now there is no doubt, I SIMP for my one eyed queen Eto. Also tsukiyama is best boy.
Tokyo Ghoul's anime was just a tragic thing. This series was amazing and iconic. It definitely has a special place in my heart. This was the only anime that made me read its manga and boy I thought the first 2 seasons of tokyo ghoul was awesome, but when I read the original manga for TG....let's just say it was mind blowing
Same here just wish the anime could have adapted it a little better. Actually now that I think about it if it wasnt for the anime and how rushed it was I probably wouldn't have even read the manga so maybe the bad adaptation wasnt such a bad thing.
@@Jason-hh6zu it damn sure would be. I was just saying that since the anime started out really well but fell apart I started to read the manga. If the anime was like hunter x hunter or full metal alchemist brotherhood I probably wouldn't have read the manga it cause the anime adaptation would be enough. I'm glad I read the manga and I appreciate the story and author alot more. But yeah if TG had a good adaptation (not cutting out too much content, or skipping/leaving out important details) with good animation that shit would be *goated.* Kinda feel bad for some anime only people who watch and can't read the manga online or buy volumes cause they might not appreciate the story or understand the depth of it you know. Hope one day TG is remade like FMAB was.
The first two seasons had me feeling like this would be one of my all time favourite Animes, but the last season is a bit of a yikes. After doing some research i'm very disappointed that the anime wasn't very faithful to the manga. I would love to read the Manga but i normally get more emotion from anime. The main thing i wanted out of the anime was more Kaneki x Touka 😐

Everything you just said, is how ive felt for the past two years. Everytime i talk about tokyo ghoul to someone i always get the same responses.... there is so much symbolism in tokyo ghoul. the 5 stages of alchemy symbolised in kanekis hair, heavy gnostic themes, so much interesting stuff. although the bird cage thing isnt really my philosophy, i love kaneki's characther development.
I remember still being in highschool waiting every week to read a chapter and watch your video. I've never had a chapter affect me so much as chapter 142 of RE. With one of the best page turns. I remember reading that having to sit alone and just think about that, because knowing how ishida loved using parallels to part one, we all thought it was gonna be over in the next chapter... And we got trolled, the story continued for like another six months. Thank you for the memories both tokyo ghoul and chibi

Kind of found his character to be a bit of a disappointment, it's been a while so I don't exactly remember, but what I do remember is that I expected there to be more behind all the shits and giggles.
Tokyo ghoul was really big for me. Had a beautiful op with an amazing story. Along with the cliffhanger of root a, to me it was unbelievable. It ended up being one of those things that actually made me read the manga
I was waiting for the new series to get announced, and good thing it was finally! This will also give me the chance to buy the manga and novels and illustrations that I didn't get in my earlier life.
As an anime watcher with Tokyo ghoul. Great show. It's pretty interesting and intense. There was always a sense of huge stakes at play with the fights.
I may have had my fair share of problems and personal critiques of Tokyo Ghoul as an overall series, but I can say this: It is, without a doubt, a modern classic that should always be remembered. Few manga were like it at the time, and even fewer could ever hope to match its narrative-nay, emotional weight. It shall always be the greatest of shames that the Anime could not effectively deliver on that, but such is the way of things; it is the past, and nothing can change that. However, with Sui Ishida's recent announcement, hopefully his next project will improve in all the areas that matter, and surpass his (presumably) first title work. I expect it will. And it's hard to believe it's been two years since Tokyo Ghoul ended. I was still in school - a sophomore - when the series first started. Time sure does fly. Sorta feels strange to think about. Guess growing older does that to you.
I would love to see more videos on Tokyo Ghoul, it brings me back to when I would read the series along side you every week. And it would give me a reason to reread this wonderful series. Maybe one day the anime will get a fma brotherhood treatment.
Haven't been here for a while but tg got me into everything im into today. Including your channel. Id always wait for the new chapters then immediately watch your reviews after lol. Those were better times for me.
Thinking about this managa the other day and it' REALLY is so important to my development as an adult, with the messages used and administered. Moreover, it taught me that there is MORE to manga and that messages (like The Fool's Journey) can be intertwined in the plot in such a beautiful way. The art, the characters, the psychological aspects, the violence...it's so important to me Although I got into your channel off of Monster Musume and Rokka no Yuusha, when I wanted to dine on TG content, I was pleasantly surprised that it was you and I've stuck with you ever since. ALSO, I'm not a big guy on rereading things but I remember getting to Ch 50, and being like "wait lemme reread this whole manga up to this point because what the fuck" lmao. God I miss this series and cried like a BABY in the last chapter. Up at 4am sobbing lol Def time for a reread
Tokyo ghoul has had a lasting impression on me that I doubt will ever fade away. It has and will probably always will be my favorite manga. Ishida created a masterpiece.
I can't believe it's been two years... when I started Tokyo ghoul I was 14 in freshman year of high school, I started a little before Tokyo Ghoul: re came out. I am now 20 years old... so much has happened from then to now and it's crazy to think that I wouldn't be the person I am today if I didnt read this manga.
Actually today I saw that Ishida finished the “first draft” of his new story that’s apparently gonna be called Choujin X, really excited to see what he does next and I hope he’ll get a more flexible release schedule so he can take breaks as needed
If you think about the ending, the story starts as a tragedy and is expected to end like so. But just like his view on the world/personalities, he changes his story

I also imagined Seidou was a part of Hakitori's camp for renegade Ghouls. A place to lay his head at night and be with those who also cared for him. I always wanted Seidou, Akira and Amon to end the series together once again the dysfunctional family lol :')
He was great character and man Tokyo Ghoul was such a special series!
I think you should definitely deconstruct every arc in Tokyo ghoul! I would watch all of it. I think I should also reread it as well.
Goddamn i feel you
Tokyo Ghoul has remained my favorite manga to this day, through what's soon to be 3 full read-throughs and years of other manga. nothing makes me happier than to see that other people feel the same about the series as I do, so thank you for making this video
And 2 years later, this ending still have some emotions.
Back then, I never knew the word to describe my feelings towards eto. Now there is no doubt, I SIMP for my one eyed queen Eto. Also tsukiyama is best boy.
I fucking love you Chibi ! Really one the most barebones UA-camrs out there and it’s been for years
Tokyo Ghoul's anime was just a tragic thing.
@@Aceofspades928 But just imagine it every little detailed and every scene was adapted into the anime. Tokyo ghoul would be the goat
But yeah if TG had a good adaptation (not cutting out too much content, or skipping/leaving out important details) with good animation that shit would be *goated.*
Kinda feel bad for some anime only people who watch and can't read the manga online or buy volumes cause they might not appreciate the story or understand the depth of it you know.
Talking about the reason I subscribed to your channel in the first place, ah the nostalgia!
Your right chibi kaneki only changed the birdcage but he didn’t break it, their were after all still some things left unanswered. If my memory is right “V” is still around and out there right?
what a ride that was
You did great breakdowns on Tokyo ghoul. That’s how I started following your channel.
Tokyo Ghoul:re
":re" means -"king"- "read the manga"
why are you watching this if you don't want spoilers
@@thisdobeanameinnit8019 he just means to say the anime was ass compared to the manga
I've been into Tokyo Ghoul since the day it came out and I have all the manga, side novels, and illustration books, etc.
I still get emotional knowing that it ended because it was one of my first anime and I've been so dedicated to it for all these years 😔😭
The author is back his new series is superhuman x
Throwbacks to me guessing Shironeki's return on one of your videos a week before it happened lol.
Always a good day when Chibi uploads TG. It's my all time favorite manga. I saw season 1 and was hooked, binged everything up until early :re which was just coming out of the time, and that's where I discovered your reviews.
Being there for this story week to week amongst the fanbase was an incredible experience, and your videos were a big part of that for me. Thanks to you and this series for getting me through some hard times.
Also it's super cool that VIZ media gave you the boxed set, but I will NEVER forgive them for translating "plucked" to "nipped in the bud"
P.S. Takizawa surpassed Kaneki as my favorite in his last arc, pineapple best boi.
Tokyo Ghoul brought you to me and I’m glad I can say I’m still here with you all these years later. Not many channels survive after their main focus ends and you continue to thrive!
Thank you Chibi - honestly, this video is maybe helping to relight a spark for the series for me... so thank you for talking about it
Been a lurker since 2015 and I used to love watching your Tokyo Ghoul:re chapter live reactions after reading it myself.
That being said, would love to see those arc analysis videos. Keep up the good work Chibi!
I love this series to death~ love the small details he put, the symbolism , the tarot cards meaning, just a complex but exciting manga~ I personally love the ending cuz I just wanted my boy to be finally be happy after all the torture and trial he went through~ love ya video chibi! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m a war veteran. When I got back from a combat deployment I had a huge jumble of emotions and thoughts that I couldn’t process. Watching Tokyo Ghoul helped me realize that life is precious and war should be a last resort. We should not take war flippantly. I left the military and am working on becoming an environmental scientist so I can protect the environment.
I've been a sub since the days of TGRE, since 2015. Listening to your reviews of TGRE helped me enjoy it so so much more, and helped me to appreciate too. It's even changed the way I talk to people. Thank you Chibi for teaching me so much!!
Everything you just said, is how ive felt for the past two years. Everytime i talk about tokyo ghoul to someone i always get the same responses.... "the anime was trash after season 2" "we need a reboot", manga wise "Everything in the beginning of Re was boring" "i didn't care for the characters other than kaneki" "the ending was rushed garbage"...... and everytime it broke my heart because i loved the story telling always had hope someone else could see the whole picture and that person was always you chibi. The one person who understood tokyo ghoul the most, the same person who got me into tokyo ghoul, ive been a fan for a really long time and i have to thank you chibi for being as great as you are. I hope you do well for the years to come, heres to the One Eyed King
Tokyo Ghoul was a special part of my life and by extension, you helped that part of my life be special. I loved the community. I loved the series. I'm still sad that it ended with more of a whimper compared to the greatness that it was around peak :re. I miss that shit a lot.
Can't fuckin wait for Superhuman X... hope you'll be there to join the journey when it's around.
Imagine posting this video and just recently the author of Tokyo ghoul said he is making a new series called 'superman x' chibi is really lucky 😁
Man...I still remember finding about your live reactions and analysis, even though I didn’t know as much English as I do now I would still watch your videos because it really felt like having a friend I could talk to about this new passion I had. TG was the manga that I first bought and that started my collection, the first one I kept reading week after week when I was getting into manga so for that it’ll always have a special place in my heart. And your videos are also a part of that memory!
Me too, I started reading the manga with you, and ended with u too. I was searching for someone who could give a real insight about everything that happens in a single chapter and u were the one Chibi
there is so much symbolism in tokyo ghoul. the 5 stages of alchemy symbolised in kanekis hair, heavy gnostic themes, so much interesting stuff. although the bird cage thing isnt really my philosophy, i love kaneki's characther development.
symbolism*, symbolised* jus sayin
whenever i have a bad day, i just go rewatch his reaction to :re chapter 125, always makes the day a little bit better
I started watching you because of your tokyo ghoul vids 💜💜
I totally related, miss these days and watching you reviewing TG, I was so possessed with it, nostalgic for real
I've missed these Tokyo Ghoul videos so much 😭 please do full video, i would love to see it!
So awesome you got the new :re box set chibi. It's always dope to hear your thoughts on tokyo ghoul. Its such an amazing series
Have been rewatching your chapter reactions for TG recently. A masterpiece.
I’ve always enjoyed your interpretations of manga chapters, it always gives them a new light I would have never of thought of. It would be awesome to see that insight into the Tokyo Ghoul manga.
Tokyo Ghoul has always been one of my favorite manga, and it was how I found your channel.
Congrats on this amazing partnership with Viz!
This is such a good video, Tokyo Ghoul reviews by chibi were the shit. Mad respect love all your vids after I found your TG reviews. So in depth and well thought out!
I got into your channel thanks to TG, so hell yeah I'll support our boy and buy the art book!
I just refound your channel while looking up the box set unboxings. Its really nostalgic, I always kept up with your TG videos. Hope you’ve been doing well since
Man I miss Furuta, I think Isshida could have used him to further extents, NIMU DASH forever
Is it weird that I kind of forgot about him, but remembered the majority of the other cast?
Kind of found his character to be a bit of a disappointment, it's been a while so I don't exactly remember, but what I do remember is that I expected there to be more behind all the shits and giggles.
Furuta really carried Re: honestly..well until the end game honestly
@@dappercrow8138 In the endgame was Rize + Kaneki + Furuta the ones that carried lol
Tokyo ghoul was really big for me. Had a beautiful op with an amazing story. Along with the cliffhanger of root a, to me it was unbelievable. It ended up being one of those things that actually made me read the manga
I was waiting for the new series to get announced, and good thing it was finally! This will also give me the chance to buy the manga and novels and illustrations that I didn't get in my earlier life.
you and tokyo ghoul really made me appreciate mangas and the mangaka
I began watching you because of your Tokyo Ghoul content!
As an anime watcher with Tokyo ghoul. Great show. It's pretty interesting and intense. There was always a sense of huge stakes at play with the fights.
I loved this manga so much and couldn't wait for the :re anime but hopefully one day the fans will get a brotherhood sort of remake of it 😞😞
I'm just going to be finishing my vol 14 soon. Then onto :re
Good timing on the video because he just announced the title to his new manga series
I would love to see more videos on Tokyo Ghoul, it brings me back to when I would read the series along side you every week. And it would give me a reason to reread this wonderful series. Maybe one day the anime will get a fma brotherhood treatment.
Great Review my man, I love this series to the bone
Haven't been here for a while but tg got me into everything im into today. Including your channel. Id always wait for the new chapters then immediately watch your reviews after lol. Those were better times for me.
Thinking about this managa the other day and it' REALLY is so important to my development as an adult, with the messages used and administered. Moreover, it taught me that there is MORE to manga and that messages (like The Fool's Journey) can be intertwined in the plot in such a beautiful way. The art, the characters, the psychological aspects, the violence...it's so important to me
Although I got into your channel off of Monster Musume and Rokka no Yuusha, when I wanted to dine on TG content, I was pleasantly surprised that it was you and I've stuck with you ever since.
ALSO, I'm not a big guy on rereading things but I remember getting to Ch 50, and being like "wait lemme reread this whole manga up to this point because what the fuck" lmao. God I miss this series and cried like a BABY in the last chapter. Up at 4am sobbing lol
Def time for a reread
Regarding the end of the video:
We would love to have another TG reading session with you :)
Still my favorite series to this I know it has it flaws but the enjoyment I got from this series has never been the same
congrats on viz sponsor!
I would l9ve that complete TG analysis chibi ❤️❤️
Yes it is the ghoul view from your perspective was refreshing
miss those live reactions session per chapter. time flies huh
Actually today I saw that Ishida finished the “first draft” of his new story that’s apparently gonna be called Choujin X, really excited to see what he does next and I hope he’ll get a more flexible release schedule so he can take breaks as needed
Damn, i miss the good old days, where i'd read the new chapter, together with your live reaction every week.
4:47 was my most favorite panel from the entire TG series
If you think about the ending, the story starts as a tragedy and is expected to end like so. But just like his view on the world/personalities, he changes his story
Definitely do the deep analysis of TG I’d love that. Great video dude
Im excited for this new project!
Just got the Box yesterday :DDD got all the collection now I'm so happy!!
