As a Veterinary Technologist, we hear people say “ You can’t save them all.” To which we reply, “I can damn well try.” And you damn well tried, and that is all anyone can ask of you. My condolences on your loss.
I have a habit of trying to find fish in the pet stores that I feel like need my help. I've taken home fish that clearly were beyond any kind of help. So I totally understand wanting to try to save them all.
A little flowerhorn in the store, he flipped and rolled and flipped some more. A king fell for him hook line and sinker. Loved him, raised him, played "follow the finger." Frank had his chins, and thousands of fans. Personality galore, he was "the man!" He did so much good for his breed and his king He definitely earned his fish angel wings. RIP Frank
You're not replacing Frank, Joey. You can't erase and replace memories and love. In that regard, he'll always be with you. You're honouring him by giving the life and love that you gave him to another of his species. What a lucky fish.
Joey, stop justifying yourself. Screw the haters. You did your best and we all know it. Thanks for opening up your heart to us again and appreciate your sincerity. My condolences dude. Frank will never be forgotten.
I am so sorry about frank. I've lost so many fish too. Every time I cry. I am 13 but I still cry and get so upset. Every fish is like a part of my family. I always burry them in my garden with my favourite flowers. I always pray to them after there burried. I paint a rock with their name and put it on where they lay. Fish are family too. Rest in peace frank. He is always with you and will watch over you through everything :)
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's even harder when your pet had a personality like Frank and slowly works his way from just being a fish to being a member of the family.
I am a Vet Tech and I can say that you did more for Frank then some people do for their cats or dogs that they have had for 15 years. Frank was in the best of hands and if he could have been fixed what you did would have fixed him. Please don’t beat yourself up about his passing and don’t listen to any negative comments that you may get. Please just mourn his lose and know that your fans and his fans are still here.
As cute and funny as Frank was, I don't think it was actually him that everyone loved so much. It was finally seeing so much more of your personality, humor, and passion through your interactions with Frank. He was a cool little dude, and he'll be missed, but that's part of your journey in the fish hobby. Thanks for always sharing, I hope you feel better soon
I think he may have buried Frank next to Buddy (the arowana that passed away a couple years ago) those two were in the same tank, and when buddy was in the process of passing, Frank was always swimming next to Buddy, probably trying to comfort him and make sure that buddy didn't die alone.
I had a female flowerhorn for about 7 years. It will sound crazy but that fish was like a dog. Id come home and she was waiting for me. Id touch water and she wanted to be petted. Couple minutes of contact and she was good. Id bring her crickets, her favorite food. One day she seen the bag of crickets. She got excited and jumped. She hit the lid of the 75 gallon tank that was her home. Knocked herself dingy. She swam sideways. I "Penned" her to try to get her better. I called vets and couldnt find one that could help with a fish. I finally had to put Dori down myself. Not many will understand but a flowerhorn is a fish but really more than a fish. They are smart and loyal. RIP Frank. RIP Dorie.
Frank just maxed out on the amount of chins accesable in this world so he moved on to the other wold to aquire more chins. All hail Frank, all hail his chins.
This better not be an announcement saying Frank's dead because I'll cry. Edit: oh my god I'm screaming nooooo Frank 😭😭 I'm sorry joey, at least he had the best possible life any fish could have
You fidget when you're distraught... I do the same... It's okay to process your emotions this way. You gave a pampered life to a poor quality fish, who was very lively, and happy, and brought that same happiness to you. Please don't be angry at yourself, and certainly please don't think that there's anything else you could have done. You did more than what most would do, and you certainly loved that fish as we all did. I'm sure you've taken your time to mourn... But healing happens at its own pace. I love fish and this hobby, and I watch your videos because not only are you informative, but you're so passionate about what you do. The laughter and the giddiness is something I love about your channel, and if Frank brought that out of you, well he's a saint among his kind. Bless, friend. Godspeed, Frank.
Hey man, don't be sad that we all lost Frank! Be happy that you gave him the best life that he could ever have. You made him famous and a legend. Nobody could have done better Joey. I mean when veterinarians come to you for advice on fish, I'm pretty sure we all have faith that you did more than ANYBODY would have even considered doing for Frank. Nature took its course and you made sure the ride was easy.
This is my first comment on youtube, ever. I don’t even have any fish, but I started following your channel just before you got Frank. I remember the video of you visiting the fish store and Frank was saying ‘pick me, pick me’ through the glass. He was a fish that caught so many people’s attention due to his antics. It was the first time I ever saw a fish interact with a person, and it fascinated me. I loved seeing Frank and also your frustration at his popularity, I know you secretly loved that people loved him. Your video tonight brought tears to my eyes. No one can doubt the fact that you loved that fish. You tried to save him but it wasn’t to be. Ive lost family members that were animals, and it’s heartbreaking. The fact that this fish touched so many people is just amazing. He was a character and he was lucky you brought him home that day and we were lucky you showed him to us. RIP Frank we will miss you x
Man I love the passion you have for your fish. They are your family and I can understand that. Sorry you lost Frank. He definitely was not just a fish. He meant something and he brought joy.
Joey, no one could have done more to help him than you. I think it was just genetics. Bigs hugs to you and don't beat yourself up. Your wife couldn't stop the inevitable, it's no ones fault. You gave him a wonderful home and life allowing so many people to love and enjoy him. Be happy in the aquarium in the sky big guy.....you gave joy to us all and really will be missed by thousands. RIP Frank, you'll never be forgotten xxx 😢
Rest In Peace Frank. Now you and Buddy can swim around the Rainbow Bridge together and keep a watchful and loving eye on Joey and the rest of the gallery.
I REALLY appreciate the last half of the video. I appreciate your appreciation. Secondarily, I appreciate your thoroughness and willingness to share all your documented findings. Frank was a groovy dude. He made me LOL for real.
ODE TO OUR FRANK ❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣ Frank , he has passed! He had a good life, He's left behind Francine, His lovely fish-wife. Frank has departed! Chins, he had seven! He's now eating shrimp, In Flowerhorn heaven. Frank's passed away! But please don't complain, He's up there with Elvis, Prince and Cobain. So remember him dearly When you pass by his tank, He rolled into our hearts, A fish we called Frank. ❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣
What a beautiful send off for your buddy. We really feel your loss, I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. So very sorry for you. His short life had meaning and he brought so much joy. Thank you sharing with us.
I've been watching your video's for nearly 2 years but i don't keep fish! I just enjoy your enthusiasm, your projects and your fish. It's been amazing watching the gallery become what it is. I was sad when Buddy died and I'm sad that Frank has died. The ups and downs and the challenges you face are what makes this a great channel. I can't wait to see Francine meet her new tank mate and who the next star will be. All the best Joey, and thank you for all your work
That's the second "mascot fish" I've seen pass away in the past month. I started watching you right before you got Frank, and although he will be missed I'm sure he was happy to exist with you.
You are not replacing frank, you're getting Francine a new friend. We all need friends. Frank can never be replaced, same as Buddy. Ps. you worry too much. Breathe.
I also lost my flowerhorn Francis in October, yes I know Frank...Francis, very similar. Your video's pushed me to get Francis and he was amazing. He had some underlying conditions as well and no matter what I did...it wasnt enough. Thank you for this video and finally allowing me to grieve over my loss while I grieved over yours.
I'll never forget Buddy, he was an amazing fish that unfortunately passed. And now he can be joined by frank again and hopefully get along better this time around in fish heaven lol.
Joey, you could have kept on walking that day in the store, but you didn't, you chose to give a fish a home whilst knowing all his flaws. And i think if you watch your previous videos you can see Frank was happy and I'm sure he felt your love for him and our love for him. He will be resting peacefully and I'm sure you did everything you can to help him.
1% of fish dying over a ten year period seems like a super respectable score to me. All living things die some time. Don't beat yourself up over it. You went above and beyond trying to save him. My condolences on losing your friend Frank.
Frank is not dead, Frank is immortal, Frank will continue to put a smile on millions of people daily, even tough Frank isn't here, Frank continues to swim around happily in the endless rivers of our heart, I cannot afford too much right now and am limited to some Koi but I love them and honestly won't be able to handle their deaths too easily, I just want to say, Frank is in a better place now and Frank deserves a tiny statue in that aquarium with a small message, just to make is remember :(
You did literally everything you could... I am POSITIVE that Frank is grateful up in fishy heaven and thanks you for his wonderful life 🐡 he probably wouldn't have survived half as long under someone else's care.. R.I.P Frank, forever loved and never forgotten ❤
Wow...i didnt wanna watch this video but hearing he died is a massive surprise. So sad. He was such a great personality. Hope youre doing alright Joey. I understand how it feels losing a pet. Hurts like anything. RIP Frank
Sorry for your loss. I would recommend showing what normal flower horns look like side by side and what frank looks like so people can see that there was wrong with him.
I only just saw this and I’m crying. Frank wasn’t able to be saved for a reason and I know joey tried his hardest. He will always be in our memories as the goofy flower horn that barrel rolls 😭❤️
Rest in paradise frank ❤️. So sorry for your loss Joey but I bet frank is with buddy in the big 2000g in the sky doing barrel rolls and chasing each other around. ❤️❤️❤️
A beautiful video for our favorite buddy. You will be greatly missed Frank. I get extremely emotional when I lose certain fish and when they get sick I try everything I know to try. At the end of the day that is all that matters. Frank was loved and you did your best. Sincerest condolences. 💙
(Watching this on Xbox UA-cam and commenting as I go) Man. Don't feel bad about getting a new flowerhorn. No one will replace Frank. This will just be a new friend for Francine and you is all.
Oh man that really blows! Some people think it's silly to get attached to fish, but when they're big long lived species and have larger than life personalities you just can't help but love them. You're not replacing Frank by getting a new flowerhorn, Frank will live on, he's practically a legend on youtube, there's no changing that. The New Guy will surely develop his own personality and his own following, but he'll never take Frank's place in our hearts.
I've never cried over a fish before today. Thank you for being honest and waiting until you were ready to share with us what happened. He will be missed ❣️
I'm literally crying about a fish I never met. Frank was really special. My son's great grandfather used to say it was our responsibility to leave the world better than we found it. Frank certainly did that in ways his little fishy mind could never understand. Bubbles McEelface and I will have you in our thoughts as you deal with your heartbreaking loss. I just lost my favorite clown loach, Sideshow Bob. Maybe you can keep him in your thoughts too?
Awww so sorry for your loss. However look at the bright side you gave Frank the best life possible with all his conditions he had.I have a couple of Kissing fish and a pair of Angles they are over 8yrs old and there will be a day they move on but that how life is
Thank you for sharing this painful experience. I appreciate your openness both in failure and in success. I am still learning so much about fishkeeping and sometimes I stumble so hard ... and it's frustrating because I mean well and I attempt to get right. Still have a long ways to go. I've enjoyed hearing about your fishkeeping adventures and it inspires me to try harder and to take on new things.
No need to feel anything but happiness man - You gave a fish that couldve been killed at birth an awesome life and shared his personality with everyone. Great match and great life for Frank. Well done Joey.
Frank lived for 2 years..... that's equivalent to 1,000,000,000,000 years in fish years. I'm sure that if Frank can talk he would tell Joey "Thank you for all the great food and love". RIP Frank and sorry for your lost Joey, his memories will be lived through your vlogs.
I have fish that I love. Some people don't understand how I have feelings for my fish but they are my pets, I care for them and miss them when they die. You have a good heart and Frank was lucky to have you!
Trust me Joey, your channel has made a world of a difference on me. I have been following your channel since 2017 and don’t even have a tank anymore. I recently lost my grandpa, and I can’t 100% relate. Stay strong brother, stay strong
Never thought I would be crying over a fish that wasnt mine. Frank inspired so many people and everyone loved him! He's gonna rule the skies with his chins.
SIP Frank! Joey I know you are concerned about "replacing" or "clouding" Frank's memory but I also believe this could be an excellent way to teach all the Flowerhorn fans how to properly select a healthy and happy fish! It would be a great real life, educational example for your viewer. Love your channel always and you did everything you could
This has nothing to do with frank whatsoever but I just wanted to tell a story about how I had a goldfish for around 13 1/2 years. His name was Otto. He had squamous cell carcinoma for a large majority of his lifetime. My mom is a vet and they ended up doing surgery and removing it. Before they removed the tumor though he floated upside down and swam sideways and swam like that but he was totally fine. He lived for a bout 4 more years after it was removed and it grew back of course but I don’t think that was the cause of his death. I think he does during the move process because we moved houses and he died a week after moving. But for 2/3 of his life he lived upside down and my goldfish looked kind of like frank because of his tumor so this story kind of brought back so memories about Otto. Thank you for telling your story!
As a Veterinary Technologist, we hear people say “ You can’t save them all.” To which we reply, “I can damn well try.” And you damn well tried, and that is all anyone can ask of you. My condolences on your loss.
Thats what i need to hear because my pirahana was past savable and he's still here doing better than ever
There’s no way it’s your wife’s fault these things just happen. She has our support as well
Well said, and I agree with you and others, your wife didn't do anything wrong.
I have a habit of trying to find fish in the pet stores that I feel like need my help. I've taken home fish that clearly were beyond any kind of help. So I totally understand wanting to try to save them all.
RIP Frank one of the greats
A little flowerhorn in the store,

idk why , I started singing this in the wellerman song tune ,

Buddy needed a friend, Frank is the best one he could have. *hugs*
So sorry joey. Frank was a hero and a legend.
Heroes are remembered....but legends never die....rip frank we love you
Rest In Peace, Frank. You’re with Buddy now.
Dont remind us of buddy

Frank would not have lived such a great life without you. Thanks for the honesty and transparency. And thanks for the CHINS!
Frank waited for you to come home.
Ow, my heart.
Franks final revenge on Joey..... making him dig a massive hole in winter big enough for all his chins ... RIP frank you legend!
You're not replacing him Joey, you're honoring him by continuing to inspire others to get a flower horn.

I vote you make a "Best of Frank" compilation in memory of him
Frank just maxed out on the amount of chins accesable in this world so he moved on to the other wold to aquire more chins.
All hail Frank, all hail his chins.
Bahaha, yes!
All hail the multi chinned king :)
This better not be an announcement saying Frank's dead because I'll cry.
Edit: oh my god I'm screaming nooooo Frank 😭😭 I'm sorry joey, at least he had the best possible life any fish could have

Stay strong joey Frank is a symbol of how great a relationship a man can hold with a fish and hats of to you for showing it to the world
Man I love the passion you have for your fish. They are your family and I can understand that.
Sorry you lost Frank. He definitely was not just a fish. He meant something and he brought joy.

Frank's chilling out with buddy, keep your head up Joey. We will see you tomorrow.
Rest In Peace Frank. Now you and Buddy can swim around the Rainbow Bridge together and keep a watchful and loving eye on Joey and the rest of the gallery.

Rest In Peace Frank . You were the coolest flowerhorn ever
Sad to hear of his passing. Appreciate your openness and honesty regarding your hobby.
Frank made our lives a little bit better. RIP buddy
Frank may not have been the {perfect} flower horn but he had all the personality and is truly missed R.I.P. Frank💯❤️🐠
That's the second "mascot fish" I've seen pass away in the past month. I started watching you right before you got Frank, and although he will be missed I'm sure he was happy to exist with you.
It's not about how he died, Joey. It's about how he lived.
Thanks for sharing Frank with us 👍 He made a lot of fishkeepers smile.
You are not replacing frank, you're getting Francine a new friend. We all need friends.
Frank can never be replaced, same as Buddy.

Death: alright its time to go.
Frank: Was I a good boy?
Death: No.
Death: I m told you were the best.
This made me sad
That was deep
Frank's off doing barrel rolls in fish heaven now. Carry on little dude
Joey, you could have kept on walking that day in the store, but you didn't, you chose to give a fish a home whilst knowing all his flaws. 1% of fish dying over a ten year period seems like a super respectable score to me.

You went above and beyond trying to save him.
My condolences on losing your friend Frank.
At least buddy and frank are reunited!

A beautiful video for our favorite buddy. You will be greatly missed Frank.
I get extremely emotional when I lose certain fish and when they get sick I try everything I know to try. At the end of the day that is all that matters. Frank was loved and you did your best. Sincerest condolences. 💙
Frank was like a father to me, I loved him like a son
Frank was so lucky to have such a caring dad
(Watching this on Xbox UA-cam and commenting as I go) Man. Don't feel bad about getting a new flowerhorn. No one will replace Frank. This will just be a new friend for Francine and you is all.
Now Frank and buddy are swimming together in the big ocean in the sky
This is the first video of this channel I've ever seen and I nearly cried while at work. So sorry about your loss. Rest easy Frank. ☹☹
May Frank and his infinite chins rest peacefully.
R.I.P Frank... swimmin with cheese in fish heaven
Allen Jay I was thinking the same thing, wtf!? Both of them!? It’s a cruel world.

Just found this channel and video, didn't even know Frank until now, but I'm already sad. My condolences, dude.
RIP Frank!
You werent perfect, but you were perfect for joey
Awww so sorry for your loss. However look at the bright side you gave Frank the best life possible with all his conditions he had.I have a couple of Kissing fish and a pair of Angles they are over 8yrs old and there will be a day they move on but that how life is
Swim in Peace Frank, if God ever wants to see a flowerhorn doing barrel rolls, now Frank will give him the show.
I don't see it as replacing frank. I see it more as filling a void left by Frank's passing. Sometimes that's what we need.
😢 So sorry about Frank. He wasn't a pet, he was a member of your family and all of ours. He will be truly missed
Don't forget, he had an awesome life in your care Joey and he was loved
Maybe Frank was loved so much because he was perfectly imperfect and reminded us of ourselves. RIP Frank!!!
This is the perfect video in honour of Frank.
You had such an honest, strong, heart-felt approach
Such a perfect video
No need to feel anything but happiness man - You gave a fish that couldve been killed at birth an awesome life and shared his personality with everyone. Great match and great life for Frank. Well done Joey.
Sorry for your loss. Frank inspired me to get a Flower horn. My Flower horn is named Bruce.
RIP Frank, we will miss you but you're with Buddy and the gang now :)
Its better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.
Thank you for allowing us to get to know and fall in love with frank.
You should get a statue of Frank. Like a memorial.
Frank the Flowerhorn... forever doing barrel rolls ❤❤❤ see you again buddy
Rest In Peace, Frank😢💕
Frank lived for 2 years..... that's equivalent to 1,000,000,000,000 years in fish years. I'm sure that if Frank can talk he would tell Joey "Thank you for all the great food and love". RIP Frank and sorry for your lost Joey, his memories will be lived through your vlogs.
I have fish that I love. Some people don't understand how I have feelings for my fish but they are my pets, I care for them and miss them when they die. You have a good heart and Frank was lucky to have you!
I have tanks without fish just with snails and shrimp and nobody understands this too
*How many fish have been loved by so many? He had an amazing life with you.*
RIP Frank..You did all that you could from your end. Actually I would say Frank is(was) lucky to be under your care. Thanks for sharing.
