If asked, “What central theme runs through all the Bible?” how would you respond? Jesus? The plan of salvation? The cross? Yes to all three, of course! But these three important topics unfold against an even more all-encompassing theme: the great controversy. This theme pervades the Bible, from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation.
The great controversy began in heaven with Lucifer’s rebellion against God. At the heart of this cosmic conflict is the issue of God’s love. Is He fully loving? Does He have the best interests of His creatures in view? Or is He an authoritative dictator desiring only what is in His own self-interest?
This quarter’s lessons trace world history from God’s viewpoint, as prophecy reveals it, from the time of Christ down through the centuries to our day and beyond. God’s very nature is love, and therefore, all His acts are loving, though this fact may not always be evident to finite human beings or even angels. But God’s love is progressively revealed as the great controversy unfolds. We see its height and depth most clearly through the Cross. At Calvary, God’s love was displayed before the entire universe when Christ poured out His life to redeem humanity, and Satan’s ultimate defeat was assured.🌏

When I first came into the church the quarterly was on the book of Revelation and there was all this chatter and concern about living without a mediator and I remember watching pastor Bohr say “Jesus didn’t say “Lo, I am with you until the close of probation”, He said “Lo, I am with you until the end of the world”” and I continue to share that reassurance to this day!

"probation" is a SDA dogma never found in the bible.

@@indrajfonseka8293 So? It doesn’t say Trinity either but many churches push it in its differing forms. Don’t knock something that you don’t understand. In the big picture, the word probation fits into it, it’s people who are not prepared to understand it in its context, who dismiss it as ‘just SDA dogma’.

@@indrajfonseka8293 The attitude of a learner should be the attitude of humility that allows the Holy Spirit to lead one into truth. Pray for a love of the truth that sanctifies and makes one holy and prepared to live in Heaven with ALL the righteous, holy inhabitants that will live there soon. God lives in Heaven and Jesus has promised us that if we truly believe in Him we will live there with Him. If we are holy we will live there with Him after all is restored. John 14:1-3

The danger with this though is that we are becoming too dependent on the ministry for everything. Why can’t we each sit down and study for ourselves or in small groups etc? With all due respect we need to get to a point where we wrestle with God for ourselves.

@@its20104u Good idea, but unfortunately, when someone is not leading those small groups who has proper training to guide such a study, the small group can get hijacked by someone who thinks they have all the answers. Then it just implodes. I’ve experienced this.

My take away for this quarter I summarize as follows: Know the truth by diligent study. Believe the truth. Live the truth with God's help. Share the truth with others. Above all, LOVE the truth. For this, we need the Holy Spirit's help more than any other. We all have these darling sins that we coddle and are reluctant to cut loose because we can't see it. The truth on that matter is often hidden to us because we don't wish to know it. See 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 When we love the truth we delight to do it and are sanctified by it.

In heaven there is no ight there because Chrust is the Light. We will not be living in heaven but on earth. The seasons will be there. As the Bible states that from one new moon to the other, and one Sabbath to the other shall all flesh come before Him. Isa 66:22-23.
