  • This new Flattop did not disappoint. I was able to go to UTAH at Camp Chef Headquarters along with a few other creators and actually cook on the brand new Flattop that has not even been released yet. May 20th is the big release day. What impressed me the most was the attention to detail when it comes to thinking about the consumer needs when it came down to engineering all the details that make this one of the more efficient Grills I have ever worked on.
    This griddle packs a high quality & thoughtful design AND the $499 price point cannot be beat.
    Here are just a few of my favorite things:
    - Pre-seasoned cooktop
    - 643 sq. in. cooking surface
    - Flamethrower ignition
    - Grease trough & large hidden grease catch
    - Griddle-leveling system (even while hot!)
    - Griddle spatula drain cutouts
    - Reinforced lid
    - Reinforced no-warp griddle
    - Soft close & open
    - 48,000 BTUs
    Now available at ‪@DicksSportingGoods‬ and will be available everywhere ‪@campchef‬ is sold starting on May 20th! Mark your calendars! You may even see it at ‪@CabelasHunting‬ and ‪@bassproshops‬
    Be sure to subscribe to my channel here as well as catch me over on Instagram, tiktok, facebook and, snapchat.
    Thanks for watching.

    I just ordered mine. Can’t wait to try it out. I like the grease drain concept, the slot for spatulas to rest, the hidden grease cup, being able to use the lid as a dome (not supposed to do that with the Blackstone…), the jet starters seem perfect, another review I read talks about how even the heat is. Really looking forward to it.

      Yay. The jet staters is what excited me for sure.

    Just picked mine up. I was the first to purchase it from my hardware store. They hadn't even put one together for display yet. Just built it, super solid. Well built. Knob feel is excellent. Grease trap design is awesome. My lid is a little tight and lifts the griddle up when I open so I need to loosen the nuts up a hair but man this is an excellent looking grill. Bummer I can't yet find the accessories I want to buy, but I'm sure they'll find their way to the stores soon.

    Has very strong resemblance to the Traeger Frlat Rock Griddle specially with the oil drain and the lid

    Debating between this griddle and Camp Chef's Flat Top 600. Any thoughts on which one if better?

    • @Jonnyp610
      @Jonnyp610 2 місяці тому +1

      Depends on if they use the same diffusers to evenly distribute the heat. The FTG600 was known to have good distribution because of that. Hopefully they didn’t change it

      I have had two of their griddles, Blackstone, and blue rhino and worked on many others. This one in my opionion and several others I worked with agree this is the best one so far on the market in terms of consistency of heat distribution and features.

    Love the grease trap design, mimics what you would see on a commercial griddle. Just feel they missed the mark by not adding a bottom shelf. Weber hit the ball out of the park with their new design on the slate, but then again I guess thats why it is double the price of the Gridiron.

    • @cheftimclowers
      @cheftimclowers  2 місяці тому

      The only reason there is not bottom shelf is because of the price. I cooked on it all day a few weeks ago and I loved it. Best griddle in the market from a practice cook, engineering, and functionality

    Would you recommend this or the Blackstone 36 griddle?

    • @cheftimclowers

      Definetly the Campchef. I have a creator who does all in content on youtube and he would not recommend a blackstone at all.

    If you’re going to do a review on a griddle, you need to do a heat test and show how even the heat is on the surface across the whole surface

    Is that massive grease splatter all over the left side table and underneath on the black mat? Are griddles that messy?

      They released a video showing the dimensions. There is 600+ sq inches of cooking space counted separately from the grease gutter. So even if you removed the entire grease gutter it would still have more cooking space than the previous model ftg600

      @@cheftimclowers Don't get me wrong, I like the front edge grease trap. I just wish it didn't slope down. It takes two inches of cooking area away from the griddle. I always liked the location and style of the original camp chef griddle. I would have bought one if the temperatures on low were lower. The camp chef griddle just got too hot on low for me!!

    • @cheftimclowers

      @@NipItInTheBud100 Makes sense for you. This one was engineered much better than their others because it keeps consistent low heat and high heat as well a medium. Lights easier than any other griddle. Me and 6 others worked on this all day and they performed amazing. At least give them a look. Best Griddle I have ever worked on by far.
