what good will it do when you have no AC power. I'm looking for a battery operated/cordless unit. Dewalt made one but now they are not available due to a recall
The one thing about kerosene where I live at is there's only about 2 gas stations that sell it within a 50 mile radius of me. But I can go to my local stores that have it in stock and buy it in a sealed gallon metal container but its a little pricy that way.
Great salimander, I have a propane redi- heater that just sucks! It's freaking inefficient and it fills the garage with headache fumes. Great video guys, I didn't know dewalt made these.
I know I am a little late to the party, but pilots will use Jet A in these multi-fuel heaters, to heat their hanger, and by default their airplane. Jet is easy to get at an airport even if your plane takes 110LL/AvGas. A lot of airports will sell you jet fuel, just make sure the container you are going to put it in has a large enough hole for the nozzle. "Race Jugs" should work just fine.
That looks like a awesome heater. I had a reddy heater and you guys are right the smell is horrible. We used it in a auto body shop in the paint booth.
Not something i would need in cali weather but very hand for u guys on he eastcoast... Lots of dewalt tools... Great review i hope other companies send tools out to u guys as much as milwaukee and dewalt do.
Well if you have the door open and vent you could run a propane or kerosene. You need to vent though. The best way is to pipe a gas line and use a permanent mounted heater. We use kerosene and as long as we have the door open and fresh air circulating it is fine. To me propane has less fumes than kerosene. An electric heater might not put out the heat you need.
Eric where are these sold? My local Home Depot does not carry this. It would be nice for work when working on high speed circuits for internet at the outdoor cabinets.
Nice vid guys. It hasn't been too cold here this year, but I definitely need to get a shop heater for later on. Oh and Eric, I'm glad you didn't have to take your shoes off for that pop quiz Dan sprung on you. :)
My 40k btu remington runs diesel just fine. only time i smell it is when i first start it or shut it off. I havent messed with the pump psi either. Good review tho, wish i had the money to buy one of the big dewalts
Great review guys. I don't know of anywhere that sells kerosene locally but we do have an airport. How long will it last on one tank? By the way guys I love the AC Delco grinder. It works great!
To me this is why Dewalt is one of the top best contractor grade brands. Electric/propane/ kerosene heaters, generators and even cold/ heated pressure washers. Milwaukee and Bosch don't have that.
I can feel the heat from that heater thru my iPod. Wow. Hahaha. It's really getting warm. Haha. Not but really it really throws out a lot of heat. That thing on top for Canada, why? Lol. The only thing that I would add to the heater is maybe some fold down handles that are higher that the heater itself to make it easier to move around, much like a generator.
Question: Can you heat up hot dogs and marshmallows and what not in front of this bad boy? Lol in all honesty though, this thing looks like a great rugged heater.
Sounds like just the heater I need for my garage. You guys should do a time lapse showing the temp increase over time.
I'm dying to see the propane heater. Your review will be my deciding factor. Love the reviews guys keep it up!
I can't wait to see the Propane heater review. Hopefully is the DXH40FA because that is the one I have been looking to for my garages
I just talked to DeWalt about the rack in the front. For Canadians it's designed for safety but for Americans it for hanging beef jerky.
Ha!

That heater is nuts! Awesome! I like it guys. And the gun reviews were pretty cool. I could get into that.
so what type of heater would be good for indoors. I have a shop thats fairly small and I work with wood. I am worried about fumes.

Hey if that compartment doesn't get warm enough to heat up your gloves just hang them off of that "rack" in the front. Lol ;-)
Nice job guys
Great review guys! Looks awesome.
Thanks Mike!

We don't have stuff like this here in Europe.
At 4min 19 sec video shows heater in use but all I can hear is Eric yelling like a maniac in the background.
LOl thats what happens when you cut videos after midnight lol
Wish I had one
Damn jet fuel is cheaper then kero....nice heater hate the smell those heaters give off sounds like they might of fixed that from what yall say...
At a gallon an hour, you're going to burn up alot of money in one day, Kerosene is about $10 per gallon now!! YIKES!!! Go with diesel instead.
Jet fuel cheaper then kero damn....can't stand the smell from those heaters sounds like dewalt might have helped that out nice review guys...
