    Magisk has been updated to V26.0 and now supports patching the init_boot.img file with Samsung firmware files.
    - topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/changes.html

      @@VictorAdad You'd have to by an international or global version (they're called those interchangeably). the S918B version would be your best bet. Those will run fine in America, but they typically don't have the hardware for the mmWave, the fastest version of 5G, but mmWave it extremely limited to small areas right now and you'd have to be in close range to get those extreme speeds anyway, not likely next to a home unless you live in a huge city

    Hello
    When I try to root the Galaxy s23 ultra with the Magisk software during the Select and Patch of the APXX file, the Magisk closes and does not generate the magisk_patched_xxx.tar file.
    In samsung s23 plus everything works fine.
    The only difference is that in s23 plus the file size is 9.5G and in s23 ultra it is 14G

      there's an issue with certain firmware like this and the latest version of Magisk. using the Canary build of Magisk will stop the crashing, but the output file does not give you root (just a bootloop).

    i have ticked on the oem thing in settings which i assume to be the bootloader, as well as usb debugging and go into download mode
    then i select all base firmware files from frija and replace ap with the magisk modified tar, but at the very end it just ends with auth error and failed flashing
    when i replace the ap with the base firmware it works just fine, i tried different odin versions including a patched one and even launching them as admin so im at my wits end

    I am experiencing the following issues with my Samsung S23 (running Android 14). I have downloaded all the correct firmware associated with the phone. When I load the AP file into Magisk (using the latest version, 27, from their GitHub), and click on "Install," it crashes instantly. I tried the same thing with the Canary version of Magisk, and in this case, it works (it doesn't crash), resulting in a magisk_patched file. However, when I install everything using Odin (which shows no issues), the phone reboots but cannot load Android, indicating that the data is corrupted and a factory reset is required.
    Are there any solutions to this issue?

You clearly explained in literally the first 60 secs of the video that there's another video to boot unlock before one can follow this tutorial. If one is already unlocked, then they should know how to get into bootloader/download mode . If they're not, they should go watch that video first. It can't get any simpler than that. • @ExplainingAndroid
      @ExplainingAndroid  Рік тому

      you can change CSC regions on Samsung Galaxy phones without rooting them. but sadly, you cannot root that variant UNLESS you are able to unlock the bootloader first.
      and to my knowledge, that is impossible unless there's an exploit that works around it (Which I'm not aware of right now)

      @@ParcoUpchurch I imported a rootable version from an eBay reseller and am able to root the phone
      however, you may have difficulty using that phone on the wireless carrier of your choice. imported phones like this only work with a limited number of bands (so signal can be hit or miss, depending on your area) and some carriers (like Verizon) won't even allow the phone on their network (you'd have to call and ask about your IMEI)

    • @ExplainingAndroid
      @ExplainingAndroid  Рік тому +2

      the only two ROMs I'm seeing right now are based on Samsung's One UI firmware (so they are slimmed down and debloated but are not AOSP based like LineageOS is. Since these phones use the Qualcomm chipset (and aren't split between Snapdragon and Exynos), I expect the dev scene to be very active over the next few years.
      Be sure to subscribe to the channel and I will be sure to highlight some of these ROMs in the future.

    Hey explaining android,I use a Samsung A7 lite tablet,and I saw a video that The: Home_Csc file does not wipe dats andt he Csc file does wipe data,is it true that the Home_CSC file does not wipe data? My phone is not rooted yet,but I don't want to erase my dats,Where should I backup all the Sd card file? Should I use Twrp?

    • @ExplainingAndroid
      @ExplainingAndroid  Рік тому

      yes, home_csc does not erase data and the regular csc file does erase data. but if you're wanting to go from an unrooted phone to a rooted phone then you HAVE to use the regular CSC file to erase data
      the way I've seen it explained, the phone simply will not work properly if you try this with the home_csc file.
      after you root the phone and you want to update from an rooted firmware to another rooted firmware (like installing a new OTA update), then you can use the regular csc file to keep all of your data
      you will want to back up your data somewhere on your PC

      I have been searching for this as well. In the past, I have used the Heimdall CLI tool to do this, but that tool has not been updated in years so I'm not sure if it still works (I've been too chicken to try it out since I don't have a spare to test it out). I think there's also JOdin that should technically work, but again, have tried it. Personally I prefer cli tools, and I wish Samsung would just stick to ADB tools like some other manufacturers for firmware updates...

      it can, but only IF you can unlock the bootloader. sadly, there isn't an officially supported method of this for the tmobile/US version.
