Man, what a match! I'm a Belmo fan, no doubt about that, but how could you not be happy for Norm Duke after that match? To see how much this win meant to him, is priceless. I've watched him bowl for what seems like forever, and I will admit, I teared up when he dropped 8 pins in the 10th frame to win his 39th title. What a special moment for him and his fans! Congratulations Norm! You absolutely deserve it!
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE!!! Talk about legends, Norm Duke will always be my favorite bowler and he will always be my inspiration to never give up! I have watched him bowl ever since I can remember watching TV as a little kid, and I've always wanted to be even half as good as him. I've practiced hard and have developed my throw almost exclusively around his, even going as far as throwing around the same mark as him (opposite though, since I'm left handed). Norm has always been my role model in sportsmanship, and performing well under pressure, and if I can even be half as good as he is, I'd be a lucky man. Great job Norm, you've earned it! I hope you get into the TV finals next time the PBA tour comes to Ohio so I can meet my favorite bowler of all time! Let's go for 40+ titles, Norm!! Last but not least, hats off to Belmo for a great game, and great job to Rhino, Wes, and Tom for making it to the TV finals and bowling their best!
Great win for Norm.....got the honor of meeting him in San Antonio last year....he is just as classy in person as he is on tv. I was shedding a tear for him at the end . I think even Kimberly couldn’t keep it together at the the very end as she left very suddenly with a trembling voice. Keep it going Norm!
It was a great show with a mixture of old and new. It was like stepping back in time. Norm Duke is one of my favorites growing up, and it was so nice to see him win again!
Norm Duke is my all time favorite bowler on the PBA Tour. He is just a phenomenal man who has a lot of class and a lot of emotion. I always look up to him when I bowl on my Monday night league. Love ya Norm
Consider this. Norm Duke's been around long enough to have actually bowled against Earl Anthony on TV, which he did in the first match in the TV finals when he won for the first time all the way back in 1983. And as this upload proves, he's still winning.
I used to bowl & I can honestly say that it was one of the best parts of my life.🎳 When I look back on it & see some old good friends I bowled with, I can't help but think if only I could turn back time & hit the lanes as an Jr bowler. But I still have love for the game & it's been so long yet I wanna throw a ball down a lane again.👍🎳👍🎳👍😎 Thanks for uploading this.
That last game had such a great contrast. Belmonte throwing these wild 2-handed hooks with explosive power, and Duke throwing classic straight balls with methodical form like he came out of a time machine from the 50's. What an awesome game!
George M Absolutely. With all the changes in the game during his career and going against much younger 2 handed power players, he somehow manages to adjust his game, not complain, and find a way to win. I admire his respect for other players. He’s a class act. I hope to watch him bowl in person soon.
What a win. I may not like the alternative styles of bowling now, but respect that pins in the pit wins the match. Glad to see Norm pull this one out. Always a class act and fun to watch.
Hey look a old fashioned straight bowler beating what everyone calls unfair in the 2 handed style. Imagine just trying to get better instead of complaining.
Norm Duke can easily hook the ball stanging over the left gutter cap, like pretty much any top pro can. He just chose to play the angle he did as a strategy. Norm doesn't have the power and revs of most of the top players today. But, man, can he execute under pressure. Maybe the smallest guy on the tour, but owns the biggest heart.
I loved it when Wes Mallott came up from behind Norm Duke and lifted him up in the air, and then the 2 of them hugged each other. Norm Duke is 5'5" tall and Wes Mallott is 6'5" tall so that's always quite a sight to see them hug each other. Lol. 😅.
One of the most satisfying tournaments I've ever seen. I'm not of his caliber as a bowler, but I've emulated Norm's bowling style for many years, and I carry a respectable league average because of that. Norm is an inspiration and a very sensitive human at the same time. I'm so happy for your win Norm, you were overdue.
Fittingly deserved that win. 4-9 conversion, pocket stoner 8 and 9 on the right lane, but still kept it cool, against player like Jason. Hats off, nothing but respect.
It was very emotional and as usual thank you for fast upload and for quality! Having now qualifications for tournament,it gives good motivation to keep fighting!
100% class all the way! He just beats the best in the world, keeps his emotions under wraps, CONVERTS a lousy break 4-9 and solid 9 to win...THEN first words out of his mouth is to pay major respect to Jason Belmonte? If Norm Duke were a company, people would have been rushing out to buy stock in him for those heartfelt words and that kind of stellar performance. The quote is "everybody loves a winner." Who does NOT love Norm just for his words to Jason? Made me tear up. This should go into every uber-serious bowling fans archives. It's in mine already.
I could see the realization on Belmo's face in about the 6th frame - Belmo had to throw everything perfect to win the game. But he knew that the better he threw, the sharper Norm was getting, feeding off the tight competition. Does that make sense? Then the 7th frame, Belmo walked back from the line sort of flailing his arms, which is a body language of resignation and desperation. What else can he do at that point? He's throwing almost perfect, and Norm just never falters. An epic match, with two of my all-time favorite winners.
Congrats to one of the legends of the sport. Norm Duke is definitely one of the best ever. Hoping some of the other legends like Parker Bohn and WRWJ make it again, too.
A couple of good things happened on this show....(1) Norm wins 39th title and (2) Rob Stone (and his lame-assed bowling terms) was not commentating. A very good week. Congrats Norm!
@@robinrocks4987 Wouldn't say that all. I'm in Australia and as much as they would want to see an Aussie win it I'm quite sure they were pleased for Norm to win. He's a class act and legend of the sport.
7 viewers DISLIKED this???! Wow then you must really hate bowling. This is as good as it gets. You must hate drama, or clutch performance, or emotional triumph.

175 Best out of 4 last night. just three days before I meet up with Dick Webber oil pattern. An epic practice session on a pro setup. I will practice on this until I can throw it perfect with the same hand position each time. Don't want anyone comparing my bowling with 31:00 using a chainsaw for surgery, LMAO!!!! I love the announce color team. They really make the game more interesting. Was waiting for the league to finish up at my lanes and one bowler got a 300. Everyone cheered him on, and he made a few more strikes on his next game, then started losing concentration and his hand started going astray, and his swing wasn't the same. He was at the front desk asking if he would get a trophy. It was his 3rrd 300 in league play, and he was only entitled to one trophy per lifetime. He was very discouraged, and took it out on his teammates by blowing the 3rd game completely. I heard him mention that the reason for a decline in bowling is the lack of trophies and recognition for bowling 300 on house-shot. He fully expected media coverage, and a band and all. I once thought that 300 was fantastic, but it only really counts in pro play where a million bucks is riding on it. I need to be the one to step up and get a 300 on demand on Dick Webber-shot oil in order to satisfy my inner urge to be the best of the best. Wouldn't it be great if Dave Lamont was praising my technique and style???
ROFL!!! Jason's two handed style is evolving. I can see a 300 game and 1 million dollars going to him in this match. (I'm only at 1:34 in the program so far). This past Sunday I bowled a stinking 115. It was the best of 11 games in a row, quick-style (nonstop). I did, however, make a step towards going Pro as I now can recognize that the coverstock for the Pitbull Bark is made for oiled lanes and not for a lane that has no oil-pattern at all, which was the case at my lanes on Sunday (I called the day after to find out what the conditions of the lanes were). It was recommended that I use a plastic ball. Go Bowling!!!!! Those damn signs are sending a subliminal message to my brain to go and bowl and join the PBA and go on tour and be the best of the best. A legend in my own mind!!! I also think that Norm Duke will win the match, because of the opening. Good luck to everyone, and I can only watch this thing for 3 minutes at a time due to my heavy workload.

Norm doesn't give two shits if he bowls against a 2 hander or a 3 hander. He's just there to bowl, and he has respect for his opponent. Classic.
3 hander?
Wizards you know
Norm has a pussie. Thats the god damn truth ..
truly one of the best ever and a Great Ambassador to the sport

Yep.....he alllllmmmossst got me too, lol
Lol! He got me tearing up with joy, too.
Is he sick? What does he mean by trying to get us all riled up??? Will he not reach 56? or 57? and if he wins will he quit???
Captain Ricco id like to know too
But he still ugly.......the worse ever in tour since 1975

Someone had to say it.
He ain't a straight bowler he used what the lanes wanted

His 2 handed style is what he preaches. Its no thumb in the ball that makes him. Not everyone's parents owns an alley mike Belmos..
Who's cutting onions right now... Great job Duuuuuuuuke!
Way to go Norm ! You at 54 yrs old are still one of the most versatile and talented pros on tour. Stay focused and get # 40 soon 👍
40 wuld be huge, but its not a given to even stay in this tour let alone make telecasts. At 55 or later that would be something to behold.
Heh! That didn't take longgg lol
Yeah...soon. 😆
Thanks for uploading this man...Norm deserve this win :-) very intense moment on our beloved Sport

Terrific match and brilliantly presented by Fox,. Whatever you may think of the rest of their product, they are good for bowling for sure.

I watched this again in May. That was a fantastic conversion of the 4 9 split by Norm Duke!! 👏👍
Awful hard to beat Norm when he’s got a look up the boards like this. I cried a bit when he won the title, such a class act
@1:31:15 Kimberly Pressler with the savage walkoff!
Another fabulous win by Norm Duke! Only the most experienced players rise to the top in this event
who else gets Wes Malott's 'chasing 100' reference? xD
When Daugherty scored 100 on TV so many through the nose and max penalty on every one
Wes Malot being on the telecast was also quite the story that got overshadowed. He is no spring chicken either
That was so awesome for Norm Duke!! 🙂👍👏🎳
You can feel the stress Duke is feeling the entire match.
Must be unreal pressure
Sweet. Thanks for uploading!!
Congrats Norm I am happy with you bowled great!

Norm Duke is the most impressive bowler I've ever seen.
