Village coming along nicely! I have imprisoned all but a couple of families in small houses. Seems that as soon as they get a bigger house, they have a second child, the mother is out for another year, and the two children hang about for 18 years. Not sure if they are counted in the wood, food and water requirements, but if they are, we should be able to send them down the pits to earn their keep!
Oh, now that is something I hadn't considered... that the families will only have one child unless they have room for a second. That is good to know! Thank you Gavin :)
Hey Ohno, I put a resource shed out be the buranicas as well. I also did this. I put one of the wash barrels inside the cave in the middle of the complex. This way it was a spot to drop the stone and ore without going all the way out of the cave. Also makes a nice and tidy place to end the season with the insta transport back home, with all of that rock..
Nice episode, Ohno, thank you! You are right about the second barn. I did this very thing. What a mess, even trying to move them to houses near the barns, labeling everything, then forgetting to label everything...yeah no.
Thanks for these Ohno, keeping me sane while I try to get from Scotland to Saint John (NB) for work purposes. One of those trips where the gods seem to be conspiring to thwart my plans. You always cheer me up with these videos.
You're a brave man Ohno, giving the largest house in the village to a working family- I've heard that Baldwina has been heard asking Norbert the herbalist for emetic powders... be very careful to cook your own food until Baldwina's rage settles!! Lol. Yeah, I've found that the longer the game goes on the more work you have to squeeze into a season, gets quite tiring. Brill video Ohno, thankyou. You really need to invest in at least a couple of bronze scythes in my opinion! Thanks again 😀
I thought about that and our house isn't the biggest but it is the only one with limestone ;) That said, I do plan on building the larger house for Racimir and Baldwina... I just wanted it to be the "House" ;) Oh yeah, I really need to look at what I have to do to make some actual scythes... Thank you Nick!
There is an option to put bigger houses sideways and change the entrance. Your people will still have waterfront property. One thing I've noticed is that many MD players measure everyting they build, all the houses are lined up meticulously. My village is all over the place 😂🤣
Good point about turning them sideways, I will have to use that! Thank you Renata :) I'm usually not that fussy about placement when it comes to lining things up but I do like to have buildings follow either the contour of the road or the river.
You wondered about worker buildings upgrades... Any workers will be temporarily out of work. You will have to rehire them after your upgrade is complete.
Rudolfina will not get pregnant again while she remains in a house for 3 people. You'll need to move her into a 4 berth house for her to get pregnant again. This is, in a way, a good way to manage loss of workers to maternity leave, cos after that first baby, they're not gonna have any more unless you move 'em. So if you don't want to lose Rudolfina *again* to maternity leave, leave her where she is. Using the sickle is easier if you crouch. :)
Excellent! That is very good to know, I wasn't aware that the smaller house will also limit the number of kids. Thank you Badger! Good to know about the sickle too ;)
Don't forget to take 20 deer carvings with you for the quest when you go to do it. I do the same thing when I have a second resource storage. You get used to the first one and run right past the second one even while building right next to it.
If you organize the line of your small houses in packs of three you'll have to destroy every small house number two to be able to upgrade house number one and house number three on the left and right. The house number two you destroyed you have to replace by a big house on the far left side of your house-line. As you are sort of the "major" your house will sit in the middle amongst your people - which I as an inhabitant would like ;-) But as you are the boss in this game you might build as you like ;-)
There are some intermittent gaps between the houses and I figure I can use those to replace a few with bigger houses. I think in this run I'm going to keep some of the houses small. We shall see :) Thank you Gerda!
I just build a stone campfire in a nice clear spot and then place benches around it. Make sure you space the benches out so people can navigate around them. Hope that helps!
Love your village - its looking so great.. Question- bc I don't play this yet- but your log guy- you make him move to do your own planks-- does he not cut planks for you as his job? -- Thanks Ohno!!
Thank you Nicola! Yes, making planks is one of the tasks for the Woodshed but they are nowhere near as fast as I am at it. It takes a while for them to build up :)
Doesn't it work the same with the small house ...to upgrade its roof and walls like it did with the other buildings? By placing another house ojver the one in place already?
Unfortunately, no. The different house levels are all progressively bigger so you can't just upgrade in place. I wasn't sure about that myself but tested it and found out :)

Pits, chimneys... with some more advanced technology they should be able to keep the kids busy. ;p
This is one of my favorite series, really glad you're playing this.
Thank you! :)

Huh, that is a good idea regarding the wash barrel in the cave! Thank you Merl!

Excellent, that is good to hear as it confirms what I had thought might happen. Thank you Tiffany!

Awesome! Glad to be of some help... sometimes travel is like that :)
Thank you Steve!
you had planks on you and logs so the planks were used instead of the logs
Yes Ohno, the planks were being placed before the Logs would be. If you dropped the planks. Then the Logs would then be placed before the planks

You are very welcome! Will do :)

Mine too. I'm a firm believer in the saying, "Never let perfect get in the way of good enough!" 😆
@@TheOriginalBadger 😂 Haha! Good one, must remember it. 👍🙈

LOL! It isn't just me!
Thank you Static :)
I sold the deer carvings for a decent amount of coin before the quest, I don't know if it was a bug or not.
i think they are happier because they have better housing. No pressure
Oh! That's right :)
I forgot about that part of the mechanic! LOL!
When Nawoja was walking by and Racimir was smacking his lips my first thought was he was being a bit of a cad not that he was thirsty. LOL
Poor guy, he was just parched is all! LOL!
Thank you Tim :)

Thank you so very much. Here's a thought; playing a guy is going to be strange indeed. lol
You're welcome!
Yeah, In the end it is a story and Racimir is the main character but it would be nice if there was a choice :)
How do you build or get the place where the villagers sit around the campfire, like the one when you go into another village?
I just build a stone campfire in a nice clear spot and then place benches around it. Make sure you space the benches out so people can navigate around them. Hope that helps!
yep the building upgrade is a nice way to do it now 🙂
Oh yeah, so much easier! :)
Houses are as follows tier 1 2x2 tier 2 2x3 tier 3 3x3
Ah, right, you are talking about the footprint... Thank you :)

The rain sound destroys my ears so I almost have the environment sounds on 0 every time it storms in game, it sucks because I love the sound of rain.
Yeah, I honestly found the sound of the rain kind of oppressive at the end. I completely get what you mean :)
Herbalist soon? Illness will be coming soon?
Hmm... I do plan on a Herbalist but I have a couple of things I want to do first. I will have to think about that :)
I have enjoyed ALL of your game plays. It have given me something to look forward to during my recovery. Thank you!
lol you said drop a log lol i know i know im so immature lol
