Kendall B! Here I am looking through videos to visit Samana from my home in Arvada & I stumbled upon you! I thought that guy looks like Kendall B. & sure enough! 😂 Denver native here, grew up listening to you on 107.5. This resort is now top of my list as I always thought of you as very genuine and honest. I hope you & Alice had a wonderful time!! Just subscribed to your channel. 😊
HEY!! I'm glad you found me. I hope you enjoyed the video. I have another channel as well where i post other fun things and show clips - look for thekendallbshow on UA-cam. I also have a daily show on the Stationhead app - stationhead.com/thekendallbshow !
We stayed on Cayo Laventado for 3 weeks back in 95 and Gran Bahia (as it was then) and the Cayacoa in Samana town were all part of the same chain of hotels so we were able to stay a few nights for no extra cost in both of them. They were all lovely even back then but nothing like as luxurious as they seem now
Hi Kendall B, great video!!! Could I ask, how much was the transfer from the airport? I'm looking to visit but it's looking like the transport could be more than $400 each way which is more than the plane. Is there a better option?
Hello there and thanks for watching. We flew into Punta Cana and booked our transfer through Viator. It was a private van that cost $400 for a round trip. It was almost two years ago, so the price might have gone up. I know there are cheaper options with the bus, but less comfortable. You could also fly into Santo Domingo and book a shorter transfer. There are limited flights into Samana airport. That is also an option. Let us know what you find.
Hi there. Here's what we did. My wife booked a transport on Viator from Punta Cana airport to Samana. It was a four-hour ride to get there, but it was comfortable. Samana has an airport but few flights, and Santo Domingo airport is only a two-hour ride. Bahia has changed the resort since this video. It is now a Grand that is not currently all-inclusive. I've heard rumors that they might change it back. They also have another resort across the bay called Cayo Levantado. The hotel was booked directly on the website. I hope that helps. HAPPY TRAVELING!
Hello! Thanks for watching. There are activities throughout the day and night. It's not a "party" resort. It is very boutique. However, there are activities at the pool and beach each day. No loud foam parties but a "grown up" level of action if you will. At night, there is always a show. Each one was entertaining. The show usually starts with a singer and then there are dancers, acrobats, etc.
Ow I am at home and watching some Bahia Principe videos to post on my tick tock and Coincidentally I found you, when I see your face I remember I was the one who took you to your room in your arrival. Blessings ❤️ say hi to you wife.
Hey there. My wife and I want to come back and stay. Tell your folks at Bahia to watch and help us get back to Samana and go to the other locations in Punta Cana! We'll make good videos for them!
I would love to book this hotel, i saw it many years ago from the public beach at cayo laventado, i remember asking someone, where is that, i didn't know about any other hotels other than Cayacoa which we stayed at twice, they said oh that hotel is presently closed. So i guess it was closed for many years, glad to see that it is back open and it looks so lovely, i love Samana been there 3 times.
We loved our stay there. We can't wait to go back. Bahia is also re-opening their hotel on Cayo but I don't think it will be adults only. Hopefully, you'll get back there to enjoy!! Thanks for watching. Would love if you subscribed and told friends to do the same :)
Hey! Thanks for the awesome video. Wondering if the gift shop sells additional bottled water and cigarettes! Also is there a “beach snack bar” or pool snack bar that is non-buffet? Thanks again
Thanks for watching. Usually, the rooms were stocked with water so you didn't need to buy any. I think the gift shop did have water to purchase if you are going for an excursion. I can't recall if cigarettes were available. There is a "snack bar" that is open right after lunch and before dinner, but you have to go inside. It's where the Brazilian Steakhouse is set up. I would suggest getting to the breakfast or lunch buffet to fill up (either one or both). Snack bar was ok, but iffy on if it was open on some days. There's also room service too, but only drink service at the pool. There is a bar on the beach but no food down there, and it is a trek to get upstairs :) Hope you can get there some day!
@@KendallB thanks for the reply! I actually booked a couple days ago and I’m going in March. I found your videos shortly after and I’m even more excited now. Thanks again. Cheers.
Hey! Thanks for posting this video. I never subscribe to stuff, but I really like that you are doing these vacation videos and give a lot of detail!! We are headed to Bahia Samana in a few days! We couldn't book our dinners on the app due to tech problems. So, it was nice to know that you can do it on site through the kiosk. Did the restaurants book up fast or were you able to pick the slots you wanted? My fear is that we'll get stuck with buffet only.
Hi Mark! Thanks for subscribing! We booked our dinners when we arrived and there were slots open for the next seven days. We did room service on night one because we were exhausted! Then two nights at the Brazilian Steakhouse and one of each at Bella and Don Pablo. The buffet themes were nice as well. I would say make that the first thing you do and keep trying the app if you can. Have a great time!!
Hey! Looks like a great place- I'm thinking of booking. For the A La Carte restaurants, how much would you say an average meal costed? How much spending money will I need for a 5-6 day trip?
@@KendallB I'm downloading the app now. Dude I've missed your voice and jokes 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I moved to Denver in 05 and I left when you stepped away. That station crumbled after you left bro. You were the backbone and heart of the show. 👊🏾
Thank you for the detailed video. We are from Toronto (Canada) and we (my wife and I) booked 2 weeks in January at this resort. If you don't mind, we would like to ask you a few questions 1) How does it work with the boat to cayo levantado? It picks one up in the morning? What time? Are there more options to return or only one? is there a snack bar on Cayo Levandado (included?) or do we have to return to the resort for snack/lunch? 2) I see that the property is surrounded by a wooded area. Are hiking trails in this wooded area? Are there hiking trails somewhere else around the resort? Should we pack hiking shoes? 3) Can one take a taxi to Playa Rincon from the resort? How much would that cost? Your help would be appreciated
Great Video.........However, did you say that the music is not that entertaining,... I haven't seen anything about that. Perhaps I just missed it. I would not want my vacation to be without any tropical music. Thank you so very much.
Hi there. The music IS entertaining. The shows at night are awesome and Bahia has its own theme song! There's a little music during the day at the pool and beach but it's not loud and annoying as it can be at some other All Inclusives. Enjoy and thanks for watching!
I cant reccomend to visit that place and I wish someone has told me before. The hotel is nice and the people are friendly. The food was also good. The main problem is that environment nobody seems to care about. That beach and the water is soooo full of garbage that it is not even possible to swim in there...I have never seen anything likw that before...just dont waste your money

Finally Rhodes lifeguards advise that if your sunbed is unoccupied up to 10am your towels get rolled up and put away
