Unfortunately, the message here to people who have been in abusive relationships, maybe more than one time (a string of abuse), are being told here that it is probably them that brought it on themselves. So sad.

This brother can conflate just about anything. The wilderness experience wasn't interpersonal relations problems, at least not primarily. The people seemed to have few quarrels with each other. They certainly had a beef with Moses we're told from time to time. But their problem was with the LORD who was testing them. He tested them for 40 years, 40 being the number of testing. Jesus fasts in the wilderness for 40 days before being tested by the devil, for a New Testament example.
My attitude toward this ministry is negative only because they seem to have everything blended into an easy grace--Pentecostal legalism smoothie. I'm amazed at the recipe:
    1. "it's already in you!"
    2. "now pay attention to our teaching." (which is loose with "God's word" for the most part)
    3. the teaching amounts to practices of behavior and attitude that are consistent with Word of Faith tradition--do this, don't do that, for example, watch your confession, pray in the Spirit (by which is meant tongues), don't meditate on the news or be too aware of politics and God forbid medical diagnoses (a flag and a vague conservative patriotism is acceptable), and don't forget to buy our materials or come to our "college"
Now, if anyone is wise they'll know that the wilderness experience corresponds to Pentecost. There's several reasons for this parallel, but here's a couple:
    1. By Jewish tradition, Pentecost not only celebrated the harvest but the giving of the law in that it followed Passover by about the right amount of time, 50 days.
    2. Pentecost is the only feast that has a leavened offering.
    3. The court of the priests in the temple is the place where we find the showbread (also leavened) and the menorah, the oil-fueled candles, which represent spirit empowerment.
