I completely understand leaving teaching. My Sunday panic turned into Monday because of Labor Day Weekend. I have been teaching for many years. It’s true that all day we put all of our energy into kids. I decided this year to do more self care like manicures and massages. That is helping.
Glad you made a career decision that’s best for you and your family! My cousin taught elementary school for 13 years and she left Oct 2022 for a peace of mind. She tried to complete the school year but she just couldn’t take it anymore. May God bless you both on your new journey. Thanks for sharing! 😊

I love teaching, but like you, it is draining, and I want to unplug from my institutions so I can get my time back. And yes, we need money to live, but it is not about the money at this point. My health, mental health, and time is more important. I’m also in the process of a career change, and planning my journey with God throughout this process. You are so blessed to have your husband and child. I am unhappy with my career but I know the bigger issue is the lack of love, happiness and real connection in the other areas of my life. If I had love and happiness in my life, work would just be work. But because I am miserable and unfulfilled work just becomes an even bigger soul sucker for me. Hopefully I figure it out one day. Happy for you that you are following your heart & found something new.
I’m sorry to hear this Maiya, I can relate. Finding my new identity/purpose has been tough but my family has made the transition easier. That and constant prayer and fasting. The struggle prior to the transition was REAL. My depression and anxiety was at an all time high. Continue to go inward and through self discovery, you will attract who/what God has for you. I’m praying for your strength sis cause I KNOW, life be lifing.
Awe poor baby was not feeling going to school today but on pickup what a change it made. The school system loosing a lot of good teachers and it also maybe because the students they getting now might require a lot more counseling with their lessons and other jobs giving the option to work from home. I have never been inside a Trader Joe's because the vibe make me think I would be spending more money shopping there. I would be so scared to put a candle near my bath because the bubble bath maybe flamable, with my luck. It was great seeing more of your family and I really like what you guys have done in your new home. I am not really a Vlog person but put this on the TV while I did stuff around the house. Thanks for sharing and ta ta for now.

Trader Joe’s is actually less expensive than Publix and Kroger which is where I normally shop. They have quality items with wholesome ingredients. I look at it more as a speciality shop than a place to get all my groceries. You should definitely give them a try. If all else fails grab some flowers and wine.
