Super impressive dude! Awesome to hear an accomplished player playing through more cost effective gear (not an AxeFX, Helix Kemper etc) and getting great results while applying it in a real world performance situation. UA-cam needs more videos of this type.
I play live twice a week and I can say beyond the shadow of a doubt that Joop's patch or the basic specs that he gives for the patches he uses, are the only ones I have found that actually are usable live. I have had the Zoom G5N and G3xn in my practice room for a year, and finally I used it live after many failures before live, and these tones work amazingly! Hats off to you, Joop! One note: The key ingredient for me using multi-effects pedals live is going from the Zoom into a Hughes and Kettner Redbox 5 then direct to PA. The Zoom sounds good direct, but stellar via the Redbox! Cheers!
Just ordered one & I can't wait to get mine. I've used my Line 6 Pod HD500x for church a lot... The clean tones, metal tones & even crunch tones are awesome & all, but still pretty weak direct into the PA. This pedal has some balls as if it's actually in a real amp.
This i what i like and hate of Zoom processor...you have to search and match your effects, tweak it and scratch your head till your hair falls off and finally voila...you got the sound of your choice and when you hear it,its like eargsm to your ears....🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Great player and sound great. I want to buy one but i want to use it in front of a small tube amp like ac10 or something similar. Does it sound good in front of an amp?
@@marcelohorsth i have that one to, also a great unit.. especialy at the pricepoint.. i has more ins and outs.. different sound... also great for 4 cable use
Yes, always like noodling around to see what is possible with a device.. always loved that part, finding your sound on any given device😊 the zoom seemed to be a good match for me.. still use iT studio and live

What pa system is it, and how much is it worth? I have been wondering how my G5n would sound through a PA, but was worried about how the PA system has a more broad spectrum for sound frequencies instead of focusing on guitar frequencies.
I understand that you endorse zoom products. So thought you may know about this- What makes boss and line 6 more expensive than zoom? This question arises from curiosity. Zoom also seems to have everything..even has rhythm patterns which boss and line 6 don't have.... what in Boss and line 6 sets them apart?
Sanjeev George from time to time i work as a freelancer for them, not so familiar with the new boss products.. line 6 helix , Kemper , axe fx, headrush etc all great gear.. zoom is simpeler setup, works great after tweaking, & tonesearching,
Hi Joops, I bought your cd 'Out of Order' and it is really great ! One question : my Zoom G5n sounds really good into an amp, however whenever I use it for Direct Recording (into the audio interface) it sounds and feels like mosquitos, no matter which model / cab / mic setting I choose. Maybe I still have to understand how to use it, do you have any tricks ?
Andrea Mercurio thanx appreciatie iT . What i try with drive is finding the sweet spot and then push iT with a drive or booster. Pherhaps that can help
Joop Wolters Sounds like a good idea to try ! Btw I was doing something wrong by plugging the Zoom into 'mic input' or 'guitar input' on the audio interface. 'Line in' is the way to go ! Probably some impedence mismatch ! Thanks for answering Joop
@joop wolters : need your assistance. Where your boost knob was set when using g5n direct to pa system? are you using any di box with it? Can u give a few tips and tricks to get such best tone from g5n using direct to a p.a system. I have bought choptones patches as well but in p.a nothing sounds as good
Waqar Malik hi, i only use the g5n here directly in the mixer no extra di used.. I use the boost and high knob to finetune on the spot, depends on the backline .. I make a basic setup at home but i always have to adjust because you never know what the venue provides untill you are there..don,t be afraid to cranck the mid,s they help you cut trough the mix and give more organic feel to the sound
hi bro, that was great playing man... I have a question though. I understand that the G5n does not have a XLR direct out like the G5. So if I want to connect the G5n to a mixer, do I need to hook it up into a passive D.I Box and then from there into the mixer or can I go straight into the mixer? If I choose to use a D.I Box will it affect the tone by colouring it?
do you need to get a di box or is it just the zoom>pa speaker im planning to buy one and I'm looking to setup my rig like that but im not sure if it will work that way
