The Japaness animated movie The Legend of Prince Ram is still my favorite till date. It's a shame that we as Indians cannot do justice to our own history and culture while a Japanese director and his team beautifully portrayed the same story with such heart and emotions!
An Indian filmmaker cannot create a movie based on Ramayan. And a Japanese director created a masterpiece- The legend of Prince Ram , an animated movie which is still our favourite and kept thé enrichment of our culture alive.
Many Indian film makers already made Ramayanam with wonderful casting that was true to the original. There are many movies I know are in Telugu based on Ramayanam and Mahabharata. Not sure if someone made it in Hindi. But please don't Generalize it so Indian film maker can't make it. This person didn't make it. Someone already made it and someone will make it.
Sourabh Raj jain as krishna in star plus Mahabharata ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤perfect perfect beyond perfect..he is image of krishna for us audience...so he could have carried ram ji's role as well with that dignity .......hope in future sourabh raj jain is casted in movies like ramayana, Mahabharata again....he did so so much justice to the role❤

In the covid times, when Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan re telecasted on TV screens, every episode of it led to me crying, the pureness, honesty and character development shown by those episodes was an absolute bliss.... Don't want to ruin that experience ever by watching any movie catered by Bollywood on the behalf of Ramayan, for their cheap profits I can't tamper with my beautiful memories of Ramayan, that was the only Ramayan for me and yes the legend of Prince Ram as well, truly blissful... those days

The most suitable person who can portray the character of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna is none other than Saurabh Raj Jain. Those who've watched Mahabharata series would know what I'm talking about. He's almost perfect for these types of roles. He's got that beautiful and positive aura, the way he delivers his dialogues, his height, physique, voice, smile...
I totally agree...He is a versatile actor....He can nail this character beautifully and I think Shah can also as a Ram or Lakshaman because he is also a versatile actor..... But unfortunately ,any bollywood directors doesn't like to see the talent of tv serial actors...They just choose bollywood actors.... Kuch positive cheezein hai Adipurush mein Jo kisi ne notice Kiya hoga ki nahi pata nahi , jaise ki:- 1.Raavan didn't touch Sita with his hands. 2. Proper Reason was shown under what circumstances Rama would have killed Vaali. This was shown in a different way in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, whenever I watched the scene I didn't get convinced. Why Rama interfered between two brothers and killed Vaali without his knowledge by hiding somewhere. In Adipurush, I got bit convinced as Sugriv was saving lives of public when Vaali was hitting him. It was happening before Rama, so for saving Sugriv and public Rama killed him. 3. Music and lyrics of Songs were superb . 4. MORE IMPORTANTLY ITS A FAMILY MOVIE. 5.Rama met his Father privately in their residence, not infront of public before departure to forest..As they were in their private space , they were not wearing crowns and can wear any kind of garment in their home. 6. Brahmastra was shown in a perfect way ,not like a pizza . 7.Vaanar sena mein Vaanar hi honge, but in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan they were shown like human beings 8. Raavan was having multiple skills and he was so much powerful. So problem with showing of blacksmith work should not be considered as objectionsble.

There was this moment in RRR where Ram Charan is portrayed as Lord Shri Ram and the music and visual effects over there give me goosebumps every damn time I watch that movie. I just pray SSR makes Mahabharat and Ramayan because I can assure you they will become all time great movies in out film industry.

Then he takes the bow and arrow from lord rama's idol and uses it. The BGM also says ramam raghavam ranadheeram rajasam. It's a poetic way to portray him as lord rama who is coming to end adharma. That's SSR's magic.
The legend of Prince Rama was so great. Agar VFX dalne hi the toh Puri movie animated hi bana dete. When you realised that 90's mein government ne permission nhi di thi animated movie banane ki yeh kehke ki Japanese people won't understand our culture and that ramayana is a very important part of culture and now hamari government ne "adipurush" pass kardi 😭. Super sad knowing that Japanese animation did more justice to ramayana than our own people 😭😭
The Japanese animation film of 'Ramayan' is deeply associated with my childhood. It was so great and majestic. I will rewatch that again instead of watching this.
Let me remind you one thing, at 3:25 you say it was Prabhas behind bahubali, but I feel it was Sharad Kelkar whose strong voice put strength in Prabhas's act in bahubali (Hindi) else I think bahubali bhi bekar hojati.... Think about it...

There r many classic devotional movies in Telugu industry.....Annamayya , SriRamadasu , Sri Anjaneyam, pandurangadu etc... in which the stories r potrayed vry respectfully wth peaceful songs .... everyone must watch it ..if the Adipurush makers has seen atleast one movie among them..their brains would have cleaned up about how to make a movie ...🙄😑
9:34 I so agree with you on this point. Mahabharat is a TV serial of 2013- 2014. It is one of the best pieces of craft ever made. No comparison with bollywood or tollywood. Far better, where actors gocus on acting and the creators focus on story telling with true emotion. ❤
Have you watched any of tollywood made Ramayanam or Mahabharata before making this comment? Sr. NTR was worshipped as lord Rama and Lord Krishna because of his involvement in acting those roles. He was critically hospitalized when he was acting like Ravana as he had to stand without moving an inch for hours without break, no food or water. He was back to work again once recovered.
Rightly said about Mahabharata series. It was very well done especially the songs, background music, costumes. Actors like Saurabh as Lord Krishna, Aham as Karna, Arpit as Duryodhan, and others absolutely nailed their roles.

I am a Christian and i grew up watching Ramayan of Arun govil back in 2004 living in a boarding hostel. It was my favourite show of all time. I still remember it was telecast on Saturday and Sunday around 3pm - 4pm for 1 hour. And that was the only time we used to get to watch. Back in time fighting for the remote, it was always in my hand at this hour 😅. And yes i am definitely not watching this movie so that it doesn't ruin my good affection for the older version.

Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan is legendary. Even Siya ke Ram of Star Plus was so good. Ashish Sharma nailed the role of Sri Ram. And Madirakshi Mundle was also really good as Maa Sita. The makers wanted nothing more than to mint money by cashing on the prevalent audience preference for larger than life movies!
I was super excited for this film, as my son who is 4year old starting singing the song Jai Shree Ram.. And I wanted to show him this movie and introduce him to our culture our epic story.. But after listening to the review I am clearing disappointed as I trust your review. I feel this was a great opportunity for us an India to show infornt of the world that Ramayan was not jus a story but an Epic of India.. But all hopes are gone now. 😢

Serial me jo ulka Gupta aur kratika sengar ne kia uske samne movie me kangna kuch nhi thi. Same with Jodha akbar film. Serial wala rajat tokas aur paridhi Sharma kafi better the Hrithik aur Ash se.

Responsibility of all the mistakes in Adipurush goes to the director and VFX artist. You know very less to say anything about Prabhas, he worked so hard, harder than anyone in Bahubali. Without looking for any other projects parallelly he trusted and dedicated himself for 5 years for the masterpiece that revolutionized the Indian Cinema. He even got shoulder and knee injuries, yet he didn't back off. Despite he got tired of all this now he is working continuously for many projects simultaneously just to entertain his fans. He totally stopped caring about his personal life. He needs some rest for few months. And you are here barking about all the shit that you see on the screen without seeing things off the screen.
That hard work he done for bhahubali which also turned out success.. But wht about Adipurush? Anyone with brain can see he did no justice to role of lord Rama, the truth is bitter for die hard fans of Prabhas but its true. Just because he worked well in bhabali character doesn't mean he can do well in every other role. Ramayan is connected with pure emotions. ..with his aggressive expression in movie and without understanding the character deeply he failed to achieve this role.

My favorite ramayan was that siya ke ram both ram and sita and whole cast was perfect ravan, janak, their mothers, sita's sisters everyone was just perfect in siya ke ram

Kuch positive cheezein hai Adipurush mein Jo kisi ne notice Kiya hoga ki nahi pata nahi , jaise ki:-
1.Raavan didn't touch Sita with his hands.
2. Proper Reason was shown under what circumstances Rama would have killed Vaali. This was shown in a different way in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, whenever I watched the scene I didn't get convinced. Why Rama interfered between two brothers and killed Vaali without his knowledge by hiding somewhere. In Adipurush, I got bit convinced as Sugriv was saving lives of public when Vaali was hitting him. It was happening before Rama, so for saving Sugriv and public Rama killed him.
3. Music and lyrics of Songs were superb .
4. MORE IMPORTANTLY ITS A FAMILY MOVIE.
5.Rama met his Father privately in their residence, not infront of public before departure to forest..As they were in their private space , they were not wearing crowns and can wear any kind of garment in their home.
6. Brahmastra was shown in a perfect way ,not like a pizza .
7.Vaanar sena mein Vaanar hi honge, but in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan they were shown like human beings
8. Raavan was having multiple skills and he was so much powerful. So problem with showing of blacksmith work should not be considered as objectionsble.
Ajay Devgn should have attached the real director's name for Tanhaji.
As a director he could have got his first success.

That's SSR's magic.

I am a Christian and i grew up watching Ramayan of Arun govil back in 2004 living in a boarding hostel. It was my favourite show of all time. I still remember it was telecast on Saturday and Sunday around 3pm - 4pm for 1 hour. And that was the only time we used to get to watch. Back in time fighting for the remote, it was always in my hand at this hour 😅. And yes i am definitely not watching this movie so that it doesn't ruin my good affection for the older version.

Responsibility of all the mistakes in Adipurush goes to the director and VFX artist. You know very less to say anything about Prabhas, he worked so hard, harder than anyone in Bahubali. Without looking for any other projects parallelly he trusted and dedicated himself for 5 years for the masterpiece that revolutionized the Indian Cinema. He even got shoulder and knee injuries, yet he didn't back off. Despite he got tired of all this now he is working continuously for many projects simultaneously just to entertain his fans. He totally stopped caring about his personal life. He needs some rest for few months. And you are here barking about all the shit that you see on the screen without seeing things off the screen.
That hard work he done for bhahubali which also turned out success.. But wht about Adipurush? Anyone with brain can see he did no justice to role of lord Rama, the truth is bitter for die hard fans of Prabhas but its true. Just because he worked well in bhabali character doesn't mean he can do well in every other role. Ramayan is connected with pure emotions. ..with his aggressive expression in movie and without understanding the character deeply he failed to achieve this role.
