Since we’ve had quite an influx of subscribers and followers across social media, we thought it would be a good time to drop this video.

Fantastic and refreshing aproach lads, the academies are "coaching out" the love for goalkeeping, if you aren't enjoying what you do, you aren't going to perform at your best. The ammount of times I get a young goalie who is at rock bottom because the academy has released them is infuriating, you should be able to put a bag over a goalies head and know who it is, express yourself, take risks and friggin enjoy it!
I could ramble on😆. Even though you all wear tights I absolutely love it lads, thankyou.
Thanks Stewart! You’re totally right. Far too much pressure on these kids / players. It’s not about development for the coaches, it’s still about winning 🤦♂️

Yeah exactly mate. They can only do that if they’re in the right environment. People think clubs are the best place for development but not always the case.

Easily one of the best GK channels on UA-cam. Can easily say I've learnt several things from your team, especially one with catching and dealing with spin on the ball. Match compilations are super helpful as well!

@@ModernDayGK Let me get back to you regarding content - possibly a more in depth video of your GK journey from youth to adulthood and to touch on areas where you could give warning to younger GK's, or even during the pros, things to be weary of. A Q+A video but hand pick questions again dealing more with challenges etc, rather than basic how to qns..
I can completely relate to what you guys were saying in this video. I never played with any freedom either and also didn't enjoy playing because of it. Really refreshing to hear that coming from a former pro like Lee. Definitely wish I had these guys when I was playing in my teens! Great to see a team providing really good advice and guidance and helping the next generation of keepers.

Luckily the gk coach at my club mainly focuses on how good we are with the ball at our feet, distribution, the basics and all the game like situations, etc.
