That grapple is one of the smartest purchases you ever made. It is handy for everything.
That's for sure
Farmers not only farm, but they are also plumbers, electricians, Mechanics, carpenters, veterinarians. They can do it all
Are you the Duffer Family ? lol
You've come a long way from when you bought the land, it's looking GREAT !!!!!!!!
James
A couple of weeks ago my wife and I started driving into our property and I asked her tou got me a surprise? She says what are you talking about? That small excavator there sitting in the yard, she says oh! Apparently it was dropped off at the wrong address and I guess by what the dealer said they made a slight error. So the guy renting it came and got it. Evan you are doing a great job on your place
Jake
I love the day-to-day chores. Maybe not so much for you! I love your channel from the South Side of Chicago!
Haggerty
Once again I smile at your antics
it happens sh. Anyway, you got it going your way and the repairs are easily remembered and forethought had you purchase extras JUST INCASE someone goofed again. I am familiar with your situation, please don't ask me how. You're getting things handled and set as you both like them to be, that's the main thing. Thanks for sharing with us and keep up the great videos. Fred.
Hey Fred. Good observations.
Great to see you are following old farm practice of keeping boundary trees. Too many just create sterile landscapes today. I have boundary oaks over 200 years old but despite the green so called agenda Scotland is losing millions of trees to wind farms. Politics sucks...
Perhaps the politicians prefer energy Vs quality air to breathe, lol .
Scotland is gonna need those trees!
thx for sharing, greetings from Belgium
Peter 👋
Pulling it with a grapple is much more satisfying.
So pleased that things turn out well for you, it looks really good, well done young man.
You are doing a fantastic job clearing the fence line to create more pasture for the animals. It is looking awesome. I know Rebecca is proud of you. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your videos. When the weeds and old fence line is cleared it is open. The tractor and it’s parts save a lot of hard work and things go much faster. Can’t wait to see the finished areas. Thanks again for sharing.
I have to admit, I really got a big kick out of your breaking off the connections again to the water. You always handle it very well and that’s a good thing my friend.
Hill
You guys are really doing a nice job cleaning that place up, that's hard work I know, I've been 13 years cleaning my place up and it seems like the rest of my life
Are you born 1794 ?lo
Place is looking good. You’ve done a lot in 7 years.
Greg
Funny as heck !
Know the feeling. Nothing like creating work, when theres not enough hours in a day...
Laughing and learning with ya...
Hi Ken
Thanks Evan
Hi Claus 👋
I kinda knew from the beginning of the video a mishap was in the star's, You never disappoint! Thank God your a farmer I'd
friggin be yikes if you were a doctor!
You can always use the backhoe to dig a trench and put the water line Underground so you can't rip it out again! ;) besides its fun to use the Backhoe!
the Fence line is looking great.
Hi Handsome 👋
How nice. More pasture.
Looks good Evan i think the pipe was there when the brush was small. You do alot have a great day.
Looks nice really kind of expected to see a large snake coming flyby out of the berries brush! Nice to be able to work that hard with a/c to
Olson
Thank god for grapples! Can you imagine doing that by hand? Ouch! Great video!
Morgan 👋
Looking good!
Thanks Evan! Tell Rebekah hello!
That looks so much better.
Woodle
Perfect timing it needed to be changed and the water changed.
Good job Evan....looks like you need to put in a short run of conduit for the water hose!
Green 👋
It might be time to do some more trenching lol
I was going to suggest the same thing. Trenching a new line to install a new hydrant might be something to look into. Or trench across and lay the hose thru a piece of pvc as a temp fix until a decision is made as to where the new hydrants will go
GREAT JOB
Brian Grammer 👋
Good job...all the smaller projects add up. You both working full-time makes getting things done a bit harder but you have the place looking great. I remember when you first bought the property...what a change.
Keeton 👋
Hay Evan you are building a nice farm can't wait to see it complete thank you for sharing
Nice job young man!
You are such a hard worker 😍
Hi, Evan! I love all your clean up videos especially the fence line clear outs. The manure clear out at the barn was excellent too. You and Rebekah have really worked hard on your farm and it looks really good.
Your making great progress!
It’s good to know that I’m not the only one that doesn’t pay attention and breaks stuff. Some day I hope I learn.
Evan, that quick disconnect is only handy if you use it. It's good that you can laugh at your mistakes. LoL
Johnson 👋
So satisfying to clean that up, I’m sure.
Looks much better. Nice job. You guys have done a ton of stuff to your property in 7 years. Keep it up.
Another Great Video...❤
Hi Gary 👋
@@LauRoot892 Hello
Wow love how the TYM is such an adaptable use tractor with the grapple and brush hog implements. And gotta be nice sitting in the cab with AC. That section of cleaned fence line like oks slick! Good work sighting all those metal pieces that could have played havoc with the brush hog.👍👍👍
Just a thought, it might be good to back tractor up on some ridge to give your self clearance to look under brushhog to see if it rapped any wire around the shaft.
I was thinking that too!
Great job looking great keep up the good work love your videos thank you
Ed
Good job at cleaning the old fence line out, that grapple sure does an awesome job. I have the some issues with our water source, supply, some are in a great location, but we need more. I have one cow right now that is in our holding pen and the hydrant is about 75' away, so I have to carry the water or run a hose. Life changes, so you have to adapt right! Enjoyed watching, have a great rest of Sunday and week ahead.
Wow!! That fence line cleaned up Nice!! 👍 Have an Awesome Week!!😀🌻
Beautiful property!
Thanks for the video. When cutting the larger trees, cut above the height of the woven wire and then use the grapple to get the remaining out.
John 👋
Good job.
Yeppers, where ya from ?
I would suggest that you check with the local soil & water district about the water plan. They helped us several years ago. They may even have suggestions as to how to handle pins maintenance and water way as well as water troughs.
the goats would've love to eat those branches ...
Time changes a lot of things and your water hydrants are a example of that, as your the farm has grown a lot since you purchase the property and I always admire how you adapt to the changes, make improvements and move on to the next project. You and Rebecca have turned that blank farm into a home and a working farm, with a lot of hard work, but it is all worth the effort and looking at your farm, it shows.
Evan, I know this is kind of off topic but what happened to your chestnut orchards?
still there. but needs mowed badly.
Are you liking the wider stance of your TYM? Glad you pulled vines out of the trees. They will be healthier for it.
Maybe you should build 4' x 6' wood signs to place on each area where the water hose crosses the ground.
You could paint them with diagonal 6" wide black and orange stripes with the words:
CAUTION
WATER HOSE ON GROUND
RAN OUT OF FIX PARTS
CAUTION
Maybe even wire large flashing lights that activate when you come within ten feet of a sign.
Perhaps a siren would also help.
Or bury the hose six inches deep.
I haven't used the tractor on hills yet to see a difference. They are getting fluid put in the tires this week on both TYM tractors. After that we will see how they do.
Thx
John Zinik
Suggestion bury a 1.5 or 2 in pipe under the road /drive way and then pass hose through the pipe save snagging with equipment
Hi Rob 👋
You know, I wonder if there's some way to rig a big metal detector across the front bumper of the tractor or something, in a housing stout enough that it could take the beating, just something that could warn you about any big, say, pieces of pipe you were about to run over buried in the brush.
I try to locate the hydrants at the junction of at least 2 fields so they can service multiple locations - not sure if that's workable for you
got my coffee
Oh yeah, I love bears 🐻 lol.. Are you one ? 😁
You might want to put in some underground piping and move some of the hydrants to more convenient and less vulnerable locations.
Greene 👋
Cattle like to rub against buildings. With a pole barn 2" X 6" or 8" tongue & groove on inside from ground to 5' high needed to keep them from knocking down the bldg.
That was the plan
Your a bad boy….I’m telling Rebecca you ripped the hose out again, start praying for light punishment!!!😆
You should have kept some blackberry bushes, they are very nutritious.
The hay fields are lots of blackberries around the edge. There is not a shortage of blackberries here.
Good point. I guess he don't eat blackberries just beef. It's his land
Hello CVA
As several have said i think putting the wato underground even ii only a few inches temporarily. O know a lot of people that just tie pvc pipe on the fence to get it where they want it temporarily
Hi 👋
You need to trim around your buildings that grass grows and will hold rain water causing corrosion . Otherwise looks great.
Richard 👋
Hey evan need to Da start looking for a trencher for your water project
David 👋
Hi Evan. What size brush hog do you have 7 ft? Nice work on the fence line. Steers look well. Thanks Scott 🇨🇦
I’d save those stumps for making charcoal to grind and add to the compost…
Do you have a well for the barn and water hydrants or on city water?
right now everything is on a rural water system. no working wells right now.
👍👍👍👍👍👌
Time to bury a line under the road it for field water. The hoses are very temporary as you found out.
You will figure it out.
Jim Long 👋
How is that wider stance on the Tractor working out for you Evan
RedMond 👋

Why don't you put a trench in for the cattle water tub. Just disconnect it during the winter and hook back up in the spring time. That way you don't run over them.
❤
Hurt my heart to see the blackberries being mowed down. Wild foods are handy to have, jam, jelly and just to eat.
Blackberries surround the hay fields. We have plenty of them.
@@CountryViewAcres Thats good to hear
And the moral of the story is remove the hose before handling heavy equipment around it.
Hey Wilson 😏
🌹🌹🌹
Hi Bo 👋
🏠🏡
I would bury the water line in PVC under that drive area
nice equipment. any problems with that tractor? yes i know you have low hours on it. i was hoping you were gonna say that you were putting in a nice fat deer food plot in that newly cleared area.
no issues with the tractor so far.
Why do you not run a small underground line, the type they use for sprinklers
Gray 👋
That pipe looked like old row markers.
👍👍
Yes Rob 👋
👍👍❤
👍
with as much metal as your finding you might want to consider getting a metal detector to go over and area before you brush hog it.
🐶👍
Is TV Boost real. That’s one of the commercials
Duggar 👋
Bury the hose??
Why ?
i cringe every time I see someone with ag tires run over brush stubble. I did that very thing and ended up with a piece of wood thru the sidewall. No good. As I'm sure you already know, the best thing to run over stuff like that is a skid steer with rubber track or solid tires. All the best.
💖💖🎶🎶
I’ll be honest, I would be so nervous bush-hogging with so much junk that is on that place. Not telling you what to do, it’s just that unknown factor must make clean up a little leery.
90% of it was there when they bought the place! Lol
How many total acres do you own?
I believe he said 40.
41 acres
@@CountryViewAcres 40 is the minimum I have planned for an organic farm. Thanks. You are doing a very nice job healing the property and getting good infrastructure in place. Sorry about the Jersey cow. Those are sweet animals.
@@157-40_TYou wanna buy ?
Think it's time to bury a water line.
Hi o
The blackberry bushes formed a natural fench line.. many years of black berries 😢
Thomas 👋
Should have sprayed it with some heavy 24d so you could see posts better
Duff😂
welcome to being a farmer lol
Rue
Need to put it in the ground.
Trench now and do it .
