Battletoads & Double Dragon [1993] Game Boy vs NES vs Genesis vs SNES (Version Comparison)
Battletoads/Double Dragon (also Battletoads & Double Dragon - The Ultimate Team) is a 1993 beat 'em up developed by Rare and published by Tradewest. It was originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System and later ported to the Mega Drive/Genesis, Super NES, and Game Boy.
The Ultimate Team is a crossover of both Technos Japan's Double Dragon and Rare's own Battletoads game franchises, although Technos had little or no credited involvement in the production of the game outside of the Double Dragon license. The game features the characters from the Double Dragon series, Billy and Jimmy Lee, two young martial arts experts; also included are the three humanoid toad protagonists from the Battletoads game. It is also the first Battletoads game to feature all three toads as playable characters. The game's engine and design are directly based upon the Battletoads series. - Ігри

nes version is the best and feels like a finished product
Game Boy version is port of NES version, expect for 2-player modes are absent.

NES is overrated
Genesis version wins. The "Console Wars" channel made a very good and detailed comparison video, where it is very clear that the Genesis version is the best and most complete.

I like genesis version
Playing this game on the Super Nintendo was #1 for me
I was a SNES kid through and through, but a friend of mine had this on Genesis and I really loved it. I bought it for my SNES and really didn't love it. In my opinion the Genesis version is the best

SNES version is the worst of the bunch. It's missing boss music and turbo tunnel music.
Sorprende lo poco que separa la versión NES de la de Sega Megadrive, lo que convierte al 1o en un logro y al 2o en un beat'em up del montón.

Ну да 8бит лучше получилась во всем. Выжили максимум из 8бит. Вот если на 16бит так сделали бы совсем другая крутая игра была бы но разработчики не стали выжимать все 16бит. На SNES также звук графика спецэффекты слабоваты все 16бит неиспользовали как на денди.
@@user-rh8jz6ir1o да просто денег побольше хотели выжать на копиях.НА Snes крутая графика и музыка а вот звуки некоторые могли сделать и получше.НО ВИДНО ЧТО КОПИРОВАЛИ И ЛЕНИЛИСЬ НАРИСОВАТЬ БОЛЬШЕ.НЕС ВЕРСИЯ САМАЯ СБАЛАНСИРОВАННАЯ.
@@user-zb5tv6oc2j ну я так и думал после появления сначала на денди на сеге и снес ускоренно выпустили не вложив душу как на 8бит. Итог видно все халтурно сделанное на 16битках.

DOS version is the best, i do have to say that SNES version is the only one that's relatively close to it though

It's weird how all versions have way more animated environment than the SNES version. SNES has best music though.

Genesis version. It's like the enhanced version of the NES game. SNES isn't bad, just the muted color palate takes away from the more cartoony comic-book style of the game.

I think you meant to say "NES". SNES is the worst in the music department, as it does not even have boss music or turbo tunnel music.

The NES version, S tier! The SNES as well, S tier! Genesis version is B tier at best, and the game boy version gets a C. These are my opinions! Please respect them.

SNES version doesn't even have boss music or turbo tunnel music. It feels very bland and boring compared to every other version of the game. The NES and Genesis version also play more similarly to each other than they do to the SNES version
@@herbivorouscyborg2398 okay, okay jeez! At least it's a snes developed by rareware in my opinion. Also If you don't like the snes port, I respect your opinion as long as you respect mine. As long as you don't complain about me having my own opinions different then yours. I don't like the mega drive port that much because of the sound effects, and sprites and the games usage of the mega drive's 64 color palette; they look unappealing and dull to me in my opinion. Arc system works would've done much better if they ported this game rather than having Rareware do it. I'm not hating on rareware, because I love that developer because of it's nes, and snes and N64 games and some of it's game boy (except for btdd) games. If they want to make mega drive games that's fine, but I wish they could've done it as good as other companies did. Just because I don't like the mega drive port of battletoads double dragon, doesn't mean that I don't like every mega drive game. Sonic's ultimate genesjs collection was the first reason why i love games from the 20th century.

Super nes win. I love this game, everything is good, fun, it's beautiful, the music is superb, it's fun with two players. It's just a little too difficult.
Punch sounds and music only feel right on nes version. SNES has the best graphics but why the hell they’ve cut boss music :) sega version is the weakest amongst three consoles (I don’t even consider gameboy version), it looks like a cheap port from nes with minimum improvements
@honestpage82 i guess the one you'd played first also plays a big role in judjing :) but nes has this sick bass and 8-bit sine and square waves generators that make the sound really raw, which is cool imo :)
@honestpage82 hmm :) mine was nes one, so a bit of a duck syndrome here.
in the post-ussr space they called nes clones "dendy" or "subor" . These consoles usually were shipped with some lame cartridges (as we thought back then - in the middle of the 90s(!)): like super mario bros. or battle tank or excitebike, whatever. So you can imagine all the excitement when i've got 2-game cartridge with battletoads and battletoads and double dragon :) probably that's why i lean towards nes version more
