This Honda CB350F Has Mud Wasp Nests in the Cylinders… Will it Run? (Sitting Since the 80s)

  • The Honda CB350F was an uncommon 350cc inline 4 cylinder motorcycle build from 1972-1974. It was more expensive and less torquey than the 350cc twin, but it revs past 10,000 RPM! The CB350 four cylinder has been a dream bike of mine, and we picked this one up for $250! Unfortunately, this one has been sitting behind a barn since the 1980s with no spark plugs and no carburetors, so the engine is very stuck.

I'm an old Honda lover, and am in no way angry with anything you guys did to it. This bike was junk when you got it and not even good for parts, in my opinion.
One thing you might have been able to try is mix up some 10:1 or so fuel to try run it. Thin enough to get through the carburetor, but thick enough to raise the compression.
I do think congratulations is in order though. I think this is the Jankiest Cars and Cameras video to date. I loved it!

In the UK, during the 1980's, there was a 430cc big bore kit, made by Yoshimura, for the CB400 Four, if I remember right. I'd have to check an old motorcycle magazine ad for the kit. There was also an aftermarket turbo kit, that was tested in a UK motorcycle magazine, during the mid-1980''s.

Ingenuity at it's finest fellas .. When it comes to Hondas and reliability then look no further than our mate Ian Coates (from Yorkshire) and his Africa twin who spent 14 years travelling the world. His wife was a little perturbed as she thought he was only going on a 4 month trip. Have a great time at Busco.. which reminds me, I need to get some French's for my beanie weanie meanies , it's a tradition now ;)

Wiseco used to make parts for those 350's. By the way Dale Walksler used to use a hotplate under the motor to bring the temps up to around 400 degrees to bring the motor up to the temp it would be at when shut off for the last time and then try to turn them over or to start.

I call it a win. There was no WAY this should have ran let alone turn over. New pistons, rings and the correct carb set up, this thing would purr like a kitten. Good job guys!

Thanks to you guys, I picked up a lawnmower for free that was seized up. I needed a mower after the landlord was mistaken that they had lawn services cut the grass and HOA was getting mad. Soaked the cylinder with PB Blaster, let it soak. Finally freed up and it barely runs. Cleaned the carb but it still uses a ton of fuel. And it surges, so that speed controller needs a new spring I think. But it works. Neighbors don't like the smoke so maybe I'll hit up GPS for parts to rebuild it. I didn't want to pull the head without a new gasket, so just PB Blaster only
