Funeral Mass of Bishop Joseph Gerry, O.S.B.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday July 6, 2023 in the Saint Anselm Abbey Church for the Most Reverend Joseph Gerry, O.S.B. who passed away on July 2, 2023 at age 94. Bishop Joseph served as the 10th Bishop of Portland and 3rd Abbot of Saint Anselm Abbey. He passed away on the day that marked his 75th anniversary of monastic profession. The Most Reverend Peter A Libasci, Bishop of Manchester, was the principal celebrant and the Right Reverend Mark A. Cooper, O.S.B., Abbot of Saint Anselm Abbey, served as the homilist.
