For me its pure nostalgia...actually it makes me really sad, never being that young again, never experiencing this game for the first time...being out of school, having hardly time to relive the memories =(
It might be hard, but that's why this song matters. You might not be able to go back, but the memories, what this song means to you, that will always be there. And whoever you become, whatever you accomplish, will be graced with the memory of simpler things, simpler times. Chin up, boss. Listen to this song and remember what this game meant to you, and strive to manifest that in your future endeavors!
If I may, allow me to offer my (soon to be completed) playthrough of Metroid Prime via the link at the end of this paragraph which will be the next best thing to a playthrough of Metroid Prime for the first time: "ua-cam.com/video/EiWsTi2OVb8/v-deo.html".
I miss how experimental Nintendo games were on the gamecube. I'll never forget my brothers and I being blown away by a 3d, 1st person shooter take on metroid and how well it worked.
12 years old and that game still blows me away with the music, the graphics and the gameplay. everytime i really sink into the breathtaking world of metroid prime!
This makes me feel all kinds of happiness and nostalgia. You don't have to like snow and ice to want to visit Phendrana Drifts when you hear this song.
Was out and about in the winter once with my MP3 player, it started to snow to the point where the houses around me were mere silhouettes... and then this started to play. Good times.
Every ice area in Metroid: Phendrana Drifts, Prime (Planet Tallon IV) Sector 5, Fusion (Biologic Space Labs station) Arcterra, Hunters (Alimbic Cluster solar system) Icy Bryyo, Corruption (Planet Bryyo) Cryosphere, Other M (Bottle Ship) Excelsion, Federation Force (Bermuda solar system) Frozen Artaria and Cataris, Dread (Planet ZDR)
Replaying Prime 20 years later, when the piano roll on this track hit at 1:35 I was just awe inspired. I was just a little kid when we got our Metroid edition gamecube. As kids all we wanted to play was smash bro's, our parents didn't even let us play this game cause it was rated T. When I was around 10 I got my own gamecube and got metroid prime 2. I played that one a lot but never progressed really far. Prime 3 was the only one I ever beat cause of how linear it was. Going back and actually playing through the game has been a trip. This song being one of them. Just got the plasma beam and already can't wait to start my playthrough on 2. We didn't deserve these games, but I am so happy we have them.
I want this series continued. I want to follow Samus on her epic adventures through the galaxy. I want to see new worlds, untouched by civilization, ravaged by conflict, built to perfection. I want to experience the lore of civilizations long gone or newly risen. I want to experience Samus's journey through the cosmos and help her combat the threats that hide among the stars. Don't you?
Recently beat this game and absolutely loved it. This is my first Metroid game ever played, and the one thing that stuck out to me was the music!!! As someone who grew up with all the Halo games, I could only compare this to it. This game does fantastic to separate itself from Halo. I can’t wait to play EVERY single one of the Metroid games and be apart of this great community.
Honestly, when it comes to environments, first Prime is a clear winner. Echoes had Fortress, Corruption had Bryyo and Phaaze, but every single area of original Prime is unique and memorable.
I loved this track (still do) and was so happy when I found a similar fusion jazz track called "Renaissance" by Jean Luc Ponty. It's like a mix between this and Dire Dire Docks. Still thank Nintendo for ingraining good music tastes into me as a child.
phendrana dirfits ambience is in this as the bass. then all they did was add a melody. loved how they did that. Metroid Fusion's Sector 5 was pretty good too.
Those were the good times when I was but only a kid playing this game. It Truly never gets old and I love it all the way up in this point of 2015 but sadly I lost it. Such foolish to lost a prized possession that not even a 1 million dollars in the world would take this game off my hands,
All these years later, I still remember going thorough Magmor Caverns and coming up to the elevator and then seeing all the white and hearing this music and just setting in Awe.
Funny how places of extreme cold almost freeze memories in your mind. Even in real life, i remember clearly all the times where i felt i was freezing. In this game, this music gives me that same feeling and all the memories with it...
If you stand still for a few seconds, Samus will start shivering. Seriously, what is it with space explorers and having these awesome spacesuits that can do almost anything, except keep temperatures out
OMG why is this song so much better than all the rest of Metroid music? It rises way above all the rest, with only "Downed Frigate Orpheon" just below it. Seriously, I never get tired of listening to this. Ever. I could listen to it on loop for hours! And I'd still get shivers. I wonder if Nintendo will ever be able to replicate such a masterpiece in a future Metroid game (if they ever make one).
BADUMPISH! lol I really hope Retro makes a new Metroid game instead of those Donkey Kongs, and with the same composer that made this beauty. Instead we get served Metroid Prime : Galactic Federation, and some ball mini-game. Good job Nintendo. *slowclap*
No, I think it's a very good (and most importantly) very fun game. I agree, that Metroid fans deserve a true Metroid game, but it actually isn't as bad as a lot of people think at all. It could've used more remixes of old songs. They have an ice planet and a lava planet, so I don't get why they didn't use phendrana and magmoor cavern remixes.
On the Gamecube all you have to do is go into a used game store. I've seen more $3 Metroid Prime 1's in Gamestop and other used game chains I could probably make my own store selling only that game haha. Trilogy is a pain to find though, especially if you don't want to break the bank.
I wish my refrigerator played this every time I opened the door!!
Yes!
That would be absolutely awesome
@@minigundozer14 Right?!
Bruh, that's such an amazing effing idea, I will literally pay money just to make it happen ❤️ thank you for your idea
Hooking up speakers to my refrigerator rn....
I love the unique touch of sounding like winter without sounding like Christmas, even the sleigh bells don't evoke Santa Claus or the North Pole.
Guess you’ve been listening to too many Christmas songs lol
Like exploring Antarctica, not saving Christmas.
You have a good judgement of sound design.
the person who disliked this probably hates snow....a lot.
I mean I hate the cold but I love this song lol
um i didnt dislike but me living in canada understands why
But what about hating sand? 😂
@@Darth-Nihilus1
It's rough and course, and it gets everywhere.
I highly doubt I’ll ever hear another game soundtrack that measures up to this one for the rest of my life.
ikr. Only other one that I think measures up is the Machinarium soundtrack by Tomas Dvorak.
Metroid Prime's OST is one of the greatest in all of gaming history.
Then again Metroid Prime is one of the greatest games in all of gaming history.
I mean, Prime 2 is pretty good lol
@@HyperDefective Prime 2 IS amazing. But I am in the camp of Prime 1 having the best OST in the trilogy. But Prime 2 is a razer close second.
Coming back, how tf. Such a master class. The atmosphere they provide is barley unmatched. So many areas with hard hitting themes like this.
For me its pure nostalgia...actually it makes me really sad, never being that young again, never experiencing this game for the first time...being out of school, having hardly time to relive the memories =(
This game scared the shit out of me. This game also taught me about overcoming fears. This game is part of my soul.
I'm with ya man

Had it not been for the fact I was (still am) in college when I first played this, this would have QUICKLY been on my top 5 games.
And over 20 years later we get to experience it again remastered.
Love.
@@nanoo4141 yes man. Very excited for it. The remaster looks fantastic.
22 years old & this game is still AWESOME-playing my original version on my original black gamecube. 🔥
Such a huge part of my childhood I remember going outside on snowy days and playing this song in my head
This makes me feel all kinds of happiness and nostalgia. You don't have to like snow and ice to want to visit Phendrana Drifts when you hear this song.
The best song in Prime and possible the entire series? Why yes, yes it is.
(Laughs in Rundas battle theme)
Phendrana Drifts. Another reason to get Retro working on more Metroid.
Also: Made me cry. A lot.
Guess that will never happen...... *sigh*
+Joe Dohn How did you know a month ago lol
Actually, there are reasons to believe that Bandai Namco is working on Prime 4.
More Metroid, but not more Retro.
tucker matis hopefully prime 4 lives up to the hype. Metroid has and probably always will be my favorite Nintendo franchise.
Such incredibly fitting music for a snow level. It adds so much to the atmosphere.
I was introduced to the feeling of loneliness and isolation by this song and Pendrana Drifts at the age of 8. I'll never forget it
Was out and about in the winter once with my MP3 player, it started to snow to the point where the houses around me were mere silhouettes... and then this started to play.
Good times.
Always makes me think of all icy places in metroid. Arcterra, sector 5... They always seem to make even the music feel icy
Every ice area in Metroid:
Phendrana Drifts, Prime (Planet Tallon IV)
Sector 5, Fusion (Biologic Space Labs station)
Arcterra, Hunters (Alimbic Cluster solar system)
Icy Bryyo, Corruption (Planet Bryyo)

Excelsion, Federation Force (Bermuda solar system)
Frozen Artaria and Cataris, Dread (Planet ZDR)
Samus: *upon entering* WHOA. I don't remember this kind of environment back on Zebes. It's beautiful here.
Basically me , when playing prime for the first time
This song opens up some the best memories in my mind.

Just some recommendations if you’re new to Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid: Zero Misson, and Metroid Prime 2: Echos are my favorites.
@@Waltuber don't forget dread, easily up there as one of the best of the series
Man I'm 15 and I've just beat this game twice in the past week, I love this game so much

Ahhh nostalgia. Playing this as a kid watching the snow fall outside...:)
Started playing Metroid Prime this year. Totally new experience for me. Right now I'm at this part of the game. Really liking the music!
the best game ever im still playinit and the other games of Metroid to .
one of my favourite ost of this game :D
I agree... one of the best in the game
Is it just me or would this be equally fitting in a Pikmin Game?

Metroid Prime 4 confirmed! :D
yeah sure and im alberto einstieno
check on youtube idiot
Perfect blend of the cold, dreams, discovery and wonder, all rolled up in a fantastic song!
I remember the day I got my GameCube...
this was the first game I got.
Whenever we go cross country skiing in winter, I always have this theme in my head.
i remeber as a kid falling asleep to this, id be playing it with volume loud and itd come on and i fell asleep fast, goodtimes:)
Best wintery theme in any game.
0:59 is my favourite part

So calming. Probably one of my Top Ten videogame tunes. And now that I think about it, it sounds kinda David Wise'ish =)
This is one of my best level that I love too play on this 🎮.

I really like that descending part at 3:10
I love this song
Oh my god! Oh my god! This epic music is so far from the rest! I just pissed in my pants!

This is in my top 3 ice level themes. No contest.
BEST Lv and music !

They making a Metroid Prime 4 game now
I had this on while playing Kerbal Space Program. I think I was flitting about on Minmus at the time, and strangely enough, the music fit.
My favorite map next to the over world
F*CK YEA!
It was the character Sylux from MP Hunters in his stolen Delano 7 experimental gunship. He has a serious thing against Samus and the Federation, lol
50000 exact:)
David Wise, are you there?

lol when youtube HAD stars!
what about thr space pirate base? :v
Dark Samus was eradicated along with all the phazon. No more Metroid Prime. A different 3D series would be awesome, though.
biejos recuerdos
;_; Turns out Retro are working another bloody Donkey Kong game. Why waste this talent on a 2.5D sidescroller? :/
