Brother no lie, i've been looking for so many damn ways on how to do this that I almost just gave up until I came across this video. Everything went how you described it in the video except I didn't get a windows notification for my line in but I just searched up control panel and activated it. Amazed on how well this worked, just wish there was a way to raise the audio higher without the static noise but thank you man.
Freaking thank you so much for this dude!!!! I saw other videos but I guess theirs just worked because they made no mention of the sound settings. I'm unreasonably excited about this.
I personally don't use a capture card, I just bought 3 separate accessories and now I can use my mic and headphones through the pc at the same time, using voicemeetet to split all audio, this allows you to send music through to friends if they want it. But, you don't have to listen to it yourself. A lot cheaper than this method. But, requires more tweaking and messing around.
@@Rae-Kwon I could maybe make a video at some point. But, don't know when it'll be. If you're familiar with an application called 'voicemeeter' you'll most likely understand it a lot easier. I'll quickly send you a link to a UA-cam who I followed. Apart from I messed around myself to make sure all Is okay. Follow the video and come back to me if you have any issues and I'll help you out. @@Lennaick Okay it arrived today. I bought a 'ground loop isolator' graded cable along with a little ground loop isolator box itself. There is still static noise however im unsure how bad it was before as i didnt test beforehand, but im at 80 volume and the static noise is so so faint, if youre playing a game or playing music etc on pc you wont hear it. at 100 the static noise becomes pretty apparent. it only cost me like $15 so if it allows you to play at higher volumes then i would say it is worth it. good luck
i know this video old. but is there any way to hear game chat? (im on ps5 and chat audio comes out of the controller) any way to have it come from the monitor?
I don't believe so no, if you are only using your PS5 and nothing else then no, if you are in party chat the console automatically turns off game chat when you are in party chat. Only way to hear it is if you are not in party chat. I hope this helps
Thanks for this Video It works for me using the TV headphone port to the line in on the pc (also worked on the mic port) I only get audio in one headphone but thats because I am streaming an original Nintendo that only has mono sound. I'll have to fix that with a splitter. thanks again.
I figured this out myself while trying to find a solution to this problem but I found the noise very annoying and noticeable, I will try to lower the audio a bit but I have every sound at 30 so I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to hear the game noise very well, thank you!
Mine shows that my line in is not plugged it. I tried it in every input possible and every single time it says line is not plugged in and I cannot find anything on how to fix this is there anyways to fix this?
hey man, thanks for the tutorial, just gave the jack to jack cable set up a shot and I can now play bloodborne on PC, well, it'll be the closest thing I have to bloodborne on PC anyways. Thanks for the help!
man thank you so much. I've been trying to play xbox on my computer monitor and have no way to hear it while watching something on my PC. I don't understand why Microsoft removed the optical audio port like how do you use an xbox with a sound bar now? am stupid or something
i tried the 3.5mm method, but no matter what i tried, the audio would only come through one side of my headphones. I asked the audio subreddit for help, but my post was locked for no reason, so do you or anybody who sees this have any idea why this is happening
Well if you use game chat through your console then the PC will not pick up your voice as you are speaking too the console. A way to solve this is by using a separate mic or your stream. So say now your talking to your friends on your console but also you have another mic connected to your PC only. Then you can speak to them and your stream will hear you (this is what I do sometimes) But another way if you don't have a mic directly to your PC is to connect your headset to your PC and speak to your friends through your PC while still playing on the console. This will work great because you can hear your game and PC. But if your spasticity talking about in game chat like in COD or something I don't think you will be able to talk to game chat unless you use the first method I mentioned above. I hope this helps!
Alright I need help. I have a capture card and everything seems to be setup. Viewers cam see xbox, spotify they can hear everything. However , my stream can't hear me when I stream through OBS. Any thoughts?
background noise is ground noise, to remove that youll need to buy a ground loop. i think its because something in your pc isnt grounded so it makes a noise due to contact with something.. ground loop gets rid of it to the point u cant hear it, but becareful buying a ground loop because some ground loops make your base audio sound drummy and its not nice to hear.
Nice Video! First one ive seen even mentioning the advanced audio settings. I am having the problem though that when I go to the advanced Audio settings and I click on properties on the Line input, there is only the general „tab?“ at the top and none of the other. That way I cant go on „Listen“ like you said and go on :/ dont know what the problem is for not showing up
How would this work for a laptop, as there would be no ‘line in’? Any work arounds? Perhaps using an adapter of sorts would apply here? If you need any specifics, I am attempting to use a asus Zephyrus G14 and a Switch console. Attempting to sacrifice the laptop’s audio and just using headphones with the Switch results in no picked up audio from the capture card I am using (EVGA XR1 Lite)z
Hmmm that is a tricky one. I would suggest the capture card method. So you would hook up the switch to the capture card HDMI and that would Kinect to your laptop via USB. Then use the ‘monitor (mute output) option on your OBS software. If you do not have a capture card or any software then I’m afraid I have no idea to help. I hope this was useful.
you can do the same thing with the Mic input. I just tried it on my pc and it works exactly the same way. Just go to recording devices instead of listening devices choose the mic input and set it to listen.
i have it set up properly, but i dont get any pop up when i plug it in :( i have a HD60 and plugged everything in the way you say too, but i dont get a pop and when i check settings it says in line not plugged in
Hey man I've been doing this method for a while now and for some reason the stereo channels are flipped (sound from the left comes through the right channel and vice versa) have you found a solution for this? I've looked everywhere
How are you hearing both console audio and PC audio through your headphones if you plugged in the audio jack from the monitor into your PC?? I am using an HD60 S+ capture card and right now i have a chatlink cable running to it and to my controller.. so how will i be able to hear both in game sound and my pc sound through my headphones?
On the first example I show (using OBS to hear audio) do that. So turn on monitor audio on the Elgato output in OBS. That would be your best option to do it as you have a newer capture card.
Did you ever find a solution for this? Currently trying to do this myself using the same capture card. Trying to figure out how to listen to pc while playing ps5 for any streaming alerts that may happen. Only thing I keep coming back to is a mixer but that is pricey

I feel like it would be hard to balance out what volume is good for me but also what volume sounds good the the viewers etc. I’d appreciate the help!

Just get a jack to jack cable like he showed in the second solution. You don't need obs or anything. My tv had a headphone input and so I used that and ran it to the Line in on the pc. (also works on the mic port if you don't have a line in.) I don't think you watched the whole video. Or else I am miss understanding your post. GL
