For years I’ve read the arguments of point shooting vs sighted shooting and I was always struck by the lack of recognition of when each was appropriate. Thanks for breaking it down Mike. Your explanation went even further than I understood the matter. Another video for the archive 👍👍
Good stuff. I teach a more beginner-level version where the support hand and arm goes into a head/face guard. It’s less aggressive but does protect you while keeping that hand behind the muzzle
Thank you for all you do. Please put out the word to your folks/subscribers to get out and vote or we all will end up like CA. Not tomorrow but it is coming. And call or email your senator!! I've been doing everything I can and literally twisting people's arms to do the same! It's never been so bad before! Except for Clinton's ban! But there literally trying to disarm us totally! They must be getting ready to attack the citizens no other reason for as hard and fast as they are pushing!
Great & informative video as Always! Question: Mike, what gunbelt are you wearing in this video? Appears to be functional-comfortable and not gaudy (I'm also a TBC, American Comp. etc. & more subscriber). Thank you.
Mike, I am a beginner and just mastering the right grip. By chance I took my Glock17 with my dominant Rt hand and put my Lt hand while the trigger lock was on. To my surprise: I found the Lt hand web precisely on the lock and in perfect position on the gun. What do you say? should I re-enforce this way of grip practicing?
Good tips. With a few good possible scenarios where one might be using the free hand to protect...The example scenarios can make or break these kinds of videos. Even by experts. Many I've seen leave me (civilian) scratching my head. Instead of live fire for practice...I'm wondering why painball guns arent used. Or airs soft. Giving the student the chance to practice with a moving living target. Makes no sense to me to practicing shooting into a cardboard man. Would this not be one of the best ways for people to train for a real situation? Where the bad guys are actual people? Wont stand still. Who can reach out and "touch us". Stationary targets should be left at the range for guys/girls training to be marksmen.
Good question. Mike mentions a Mr. Craig Douglas. Craig has a 3 day course called ECQC. You learn the techniques and philosophy of use, then you use simunitions, live
Why would you shoot someone coming at you? That's not a deadly threat to your life or threat of great bodily harm. That's not self defensive shooting.... it's murder.
I understand you have WAY WAY WAY more training than me but to put this out for the general public is silly. There’s not a small percentage of folk that could even have a clue as what your talking about. The responsible thing to do would be to get out of that range. Learn to read people so you don’t get into these situations. Stay out of that side of town
I get what you’re saying Mike. I think it’s valuable for the simple fact that it’s educational for anyone who may watch it. I’m not talking in a tactical sense, as if they are going to go practice this. I’m talking about letting the general public know that these techniques simply exist. Period. Other videos can cover the ‘get outta dodge’ strategies, but at least gives the viewers the ‘wow, I didn’t know that was a thing’ exposure.
You are as good as Mr. Vickers at relaying the message and in my opinion he’s the best UA-cam has cool how Wilson got both of you
This tutorial is super. Really liked the process laid out. I have only learned one method for close quarter combat. THANK YOU.
You're very welcome!
Great explanation and demonstration Mike.
Thanks for sharing and keep yourself safe!

This is just an application of a technique. You're reading into it too much.

Sometimes you can't. A home invasion. Or you own a food truck. Yeah, I know, it never happens. But what if?
Good. But spare us the politically correct “his or her” crap.
There is so much wrong with this training video
Could you please comment further
Huh? Please elaborate.
