Delightful!! I admit until today, I knew nothing about this composer until i heard this piece on K-UCR Riverside (ca) I thought to myself, this sounds so much like Mozart. When i researched him, i found out that he is known as the French Mozart 😂

The Allegro brillante will forever be linked with the wonderfully calm boat ride named Gondoletta in the Dutch theme park "de Efteling". This beautiful piece can be heard in sections of that ride. At the opening of this ride, there where speakers mounted on the boats, that would place this piece in a loop. But sadly they where removed years later. Now only from the outside at sections this music is heard. Hope one day they will put in new speakers.
If memory serves, this is the better known version of the concerto. I recall there being an alternative "earlier" version that some experts feel is truer to Boieldieu's intentions. And yes, circa 1800, LOTS of music got fiddled with, cut-and-pasted, misattributed, or downright stolen by unprincipled publishers. (Example: Haydn wrote 11 piano concertos, right? No, it turns out only three of them are authentic.)
Not cool to have a mid-roll ad. I understand having an ad at the beginning, but when you interrupt this piece of music with an ad, that really ruins it.
UA-cam places the ad not me. What makes you think that? Get yourself UA-cam Premium and you won't ever see an ad again, nor have to complain. BTW you are watching for free copyrighted materials, hence the ads!
@@bartjebartmans All right; my mistake then. I'm sorry about that. From my experience and research, I was thinking that somehow you were able to monetize it and you chose the ad placement. UA-cam's system is hard to figure out, and UA-cam doesn't always communicate well or put the best information out there.
@@GWC1975 There is not one single score channel who can monetize as we are all are using copyrighted materials. Even the older recordings without copyright I can't monetize.
Ask the performers. How would we know? It is possible that it has been done because of limited space on CD or LP, especially when there were several works recorded. It was for instance very common to omit repeats to save space. And on even older records like the 78' cuts would HAVE to be made.
Excellent performance by Marisa Robles thank u sir
Your collection of little known composer is wonderful. A new discovery every day. Thanks 😊
Boieldieu is mainly known from opera La Dame Blanche, it contains a very well known aria. At least this is how I know about him.
The Ouverture "Le Calife de Baghdad" was very popular for many years. I uploaded it a few years ago on my channel.

Bravo bravo bravo brilliance fantastic music concerto super wow
The Rondeau is a really exquisite piece of music. Although his music seems rather dull and straightforward, some of his pieces are worth listening to!
Best harp concerto written my friends.

More than three, but you're on the right track
Lovely, thank you.
The third movement goes so incredibly hard
Damn you! I was supposed to be asleep 20 minutes ago!
Nice!

Why is there a cut in the recapitulation in the first movement?

@@bartjebartmans There's no other recording of this concerto then without the cut?
@@liangseng7474You have to find that out by yourself. I don't have time to compare recordings in detail.
And even more Efteling: Gondoletta and Little Mermaid this time!
