    My 03 6.0 has them where they should be...in a pocket on the spare tire cover.

    I have a 04 limited with OEM 5-star 20 inch chrome rims and Nokia low rolling resistance tires and and I'm still staying steady around 13 miles per gallon with the V10. I think swapping over to the rim and tire package got me better gas mileage. I don't have spacers. I actually dented in the inside of the rear fenders to make space. The tires almost touched before. And in the front they only rub on the leaf spring when it's fully maxed out. All in all I love the new ride height, they've been a good purchase and make the truck look sharp!

    I have always used aluminum spacers on my trucks. The biggest concern is the expansion coefficient and the holding force of the lugs. I have never had a problem. I don’t do extreme towing with the vehicles I’ve put them on. I’ve had them on my ‘97 suburban with a 6” lift, 35x12.5x15” tires, and deep dish wheels for years with no problem. I’ve had more problems with power steering pumps!

    Just bought a set of 2018 rims tires for my 2000 F350. Ordered the hub centric spacers from Titan Wheels. Hoping I don't have to mill the entire inner rear spacers down to fit over the axle; however Rep said I would likey have to get a mm milled down to fit over the hub flange lip.

    • @ZeroFuelRequired
      @ZeroFuelRequired  4 роки тому

      Like I stated in video. Some axles they slide right over. Some you have to pull the axle put it on and put axle back on. And some (like mine) you have to have spacers cut on a lathe to get to fit. Take spacers and your vehicle machine shop pull a wheel to get them to measure axle hub so the spacer will be an exact fit. You want a tight fit so the axle supports the centric ring because the lugs only hold the wheel on, the centric ring supports the vehicle's weight. Thanks for the comment and good luck.

      How did the Titan wheel spacers work out? Did you end up having to modify or remove the axle at all? And how are they holding up now?

    Hot tires is an understatment. My 2000 V10 on a hot day going slow off pavement makes them untouchable. There is no sticker on the 1st year Excusion, not that anyone reads stickers.

    I really want a 7.3L PSD or 6.8L V10 Ford Excursion,but it's hard for me to find some of them since they only are for 2000-2005,but Ford actually discontinued them in 2006 because production was still going for them in Mexico only.I would probably put a 4 inch Procomp lift kit on it,and use 37×12.50 Michelins with 16.5 rims on them if I could.It's better having a 4×4 Excursion since they have Dana 50 front axles and the NV-273 transfer case.It would be cool to see a 2V 5.4L in a Ford Excursion,those seem to be very rare.

    Great video. What's the purpose of the centric ring on the rear adapter? Doesn't the OEM rim rest on the hub in the absence of an adapter? I see companies selling rear excursion adapters without the lip. I'm confused, lip or no lip on the rear adapter?

    • @ZeroFuelRequired
      @ZeroFuelRequired  4 роки тому +1

      In the video I talk about why I had to cut the centric ring down, go to the 12 minute mark and watch it for a few minutes you'll understand and see it'll answer your question. But Basically it's Because the hub varies in dimension from vehicle to vehicle. Rims do center on the hub but when you add a 2 inch spacer. Three rim cam no longer can center itself on the hub. Centric rings are required. Thanks for the question I hope this helps.

    So the rear spacers don’t need to be hub centric ?

    • @ZeroFuelRequired
      @ZeroFuelRequired  4 роки тому

      All the spacers are lug centric & hub centric(sounds stupid but they are) the rims are hub centric and that's why the spacers have to have centric rings.
      Vehicles that are lugs centric are light duty because the lugs center the rims and carry the weight.
      Vehicles that are hub centric carry the weight of the vehicle on the hubs and not the lugs. The lug only hold the wheels on.
