So glad you have it licensed and running rather than it being stuck in a museum never to run again. Such an awesome piece of American history. Back when you could live in a small town and have a job to go to after you left high school. NAFTA has since ended most of that and destroyed hundreds of small towns forever.
Nice! Back in the days of iron men and wooden trucks! Once in a while I drove a 1951 Brockway with 262 overhead valve Continental, 5 speed RoadRanger with electric over air two speed axle. I worked for a guy that used it as a wrecker. Even in the 80's, there weren't many local trucks that could run with it. It's still around...
Thanks, nice overview & History.....interestingly I finally got my first truck, a 2007:GMC CANYON LE/ 2WD LOADED, in 2007... now enjoy trucks a lot more , all kinds.
That is the strangest most confusing shift pattern I`ve ever seen, most likely not synchronized either. I bet it`s a nightmare to drive. Beautiful though.
Most folks who never heard of a Brockway never heard of a Henway, either. "What's a Henway?" somebody asked. "Usually at least five pounds less than a turkey."
Wow! That's a gorgeous looking truck (dare I say it looks "friendly"?) Thanks for all the hard work, time and money you've given to this classic. I hope you still have it. 👍💕
What you haven't put spring brakes on it yet, they should be a drop in fit. Several friends have done that to their 40's and 50's brake systems, though one is still vacuum. You need enough brake for our long hills. Have fun
I'm a 48 year veteran long haul driver and have driven these old trucks. One thing that always baffled me was the fact that they often had a convoluted shift pattern. I got pretty good shifting them, but always wondered why they were designed that way. Anybody know?

My dad had a twin screw mid 50's Brockway. Green, hot and nasty. He pulled a 40 ft. flatbed or a 30 ft. tanker with it. She was a beaut.
This is/ was my family's business 😁
I saw the trailers still driving around in the 80's and 90's with the faded name..
Very, very cool...
She reminds me of that old yellow 1947 Brockway tow truck. At the old Union 76 truckstop State Line, PA. That was late 90's.
Heard the name, now I get to see it. Beautiful
Beautiful truck. Glad it's been saved all these years.

Hi Bill. Nicely done!
I often rode with my dad while he was working hauling petroleum products for Henock Oil Co in the Clifton, NJ.
This to me looks much more modern than 1948. Such a nice truck.

Gmc canyon? That ain't a truck. Those things are slightly oversized matchbox toys
Brockway also owned Crown Motorcoach of Los Angeles which built quality buses and fire apparatus. The name implied top quality.
Nice vehicle. Honest restoration is always best.
Fantastic truck. I`ll bet you own it with considerable pride.
Beautiful truck

Great truck but, We want to hear it run...... Ya know?
She is a beauty you have Beauty
In those times they probably didn't put diesels in very many trucks.
They did not... gas was affordable and torque was king.
