Very nice, Kim. It is sad that many young Slovaks consider this country as backward dump that doesn´t deserve second thought and best thing they could do is to leave the country. And yes, there is lots of problems here too, but also lots of beauty, culture and history which sadly many people consider as boring and useless.
I really value that you give me a different look at our country in your videos. Things we think are common everywhere, actually are not, but I wouldn't doubt there are some positives of Manilla that we have to learn from as well. I always have a feeling that we could be much better in many ways, like other European countries... and yes, we can, but I think I (and a lot of Slovaks as well) must appreciate basic things and values, that we have here in Europe, as well.
Many of people who is living the whole life in Bratislava are very critical about this city but they just can not appreciate how nice this city is. I have moved to Bratislava from another city in Slovakia (much more smaller one and much dusty one) and I just love this city. I like the warm wather, fresh air, green parks and you can always do something here or meet somebody. And about the air - that is true... in the city where I grew up there is much worst quality of air and because of that I got an alergy as a kid and it is still with me today. But here in Bratislava I can breath much more better.
Kimberly you did fine job. Nobody like people from Bratislava because it's the only city rest of Slovakia is village for Blava As I see you guys living in botanical garden which is very nice. Bratislava do have problem with public transportation and they did many mistakes in past. City should start build subway long time ago but didn't. Boston which is about same size as Capital have it it much more effective then buss or tram system. These days you should have subway system under whole Bratislava but in past 30 years city is run without people who have vision, so city will grow to future but public system is from last millennium. I know how it feels in Manila same is in Rio and Spa Paulo Brazil but Sao Paulo building more and Rio have also. So in general you did great job again.👍
Bratislava does not really need a metro system though. The shape of the city isn't too good for that but also it has a pretty good tram line and the plans for metro just copied the tram anyway. Expansion of the tram system would work just fine in my opinion, but the public tranaport apparently isn't used as much to be worked on.
@@pokestep team is last millennium, backward system.. City should have li from Petrzalka and from Lamach to the airport. Ring around the city and of course under the old town. Should be few lines of subway. City collapsing with 2-3 cm of snow, subway running underground not obstructing traffic like trams. Subway in may opinion is best for that city, you can better organize outside traffic and many more things, be proud on trams is like Cariocas are proud on favelas, make no sense. City don't even trying to do anything patching, that's the best word. As you saying about the plans I have my doubt, they build places on wrong spots. General architect was from Ruzomberok now you have Austrian lady I guess, but Penta and J&T are crooked companies. Bratislava since so called change is run by crooks and you can see it they manage make system there which is helping in total confusion. City is near Vienna but didn't learn anything from Austrian Capital, because in Blava everyone is suppperman.
today, when I was walking the dog, I remembered your video and my wife. she is also from the Philippines. she laughs at me that I'm dating my dog and that I'm still carrying thermoses with me. still hot coffee or tea in winter and still cold water or lemon juice in summer
I spent 3 years of my life in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It sounds like Phnom Penh and Manila have a very similar standard of living. No sidewalks, no fresh air, no parks, heavy traffic and tones and tones of rice.
PS: you are so cute and beautiful .. husband sorry.... but i had to write it ❤
I was in Manila, pollution wasn't bad at all, I could see blue sky, when I was in New Delhi, India that was pollution - kind of fog with visibility 50 to 300 metres depends on day. And you could look into sun safely. Nice from you that you didn't mention bad sides of living in Slovakia especially in concrete blocks in capital where all junkies are. Also generosity and quality of service is quite questionable, but that's individual experiences. There are more beutiful places and cities in Slovakia than capital.
Loved this video! Comparison is never good but you made it in a diplomatic cute way ;) I didn't get the first point tho. Can't you buy everything at one place for example in a grocery store in the mall? If you would go to a mall's grocery store what would you miss from your shopping cart? Also we love and appreciate our sun as well 😉 We're on the same page with that 🔆 Have a great weekend! Jude
Say some beans and peas? also some vegetables that I can only buy in a "Wet market". Yup we have so called Wet and Dry market in the Philippines. Not sure if it make sense to you 😂
Well, the large chunk of tap water still comes from surface sources (like dams, you can know by restricted area signs and ban on swimming), but the water is specially treated. On other hand, I am glad, that you like Slovakia, it is beautiful country, almost as nice as Moravia (to troll brothers Slovak a little :-)).
Thank u for the video! I really share ur thoughts with u! :D especially water and sun :D i appreciate that the most after living almost 4 years in Saint Petersburg in Russia where the water was even brown sometimes and the sun i saw maybe two or three times per month during autumn/winter or even spring :D :)
Chcel by som sa spýtať či by si neurobila takú menšiu sériu keď skočí karanténa že by si chodila po celom Slovensku ako napríklad ísť na Oravu (Napríklad Dolný Kubín Námestovo) , Zemplín Liptov Považie Kysuce. Predom ďakujem za odpoveď. :)
I like winter too, but not as much as summer🤣 In winter, I am excited to see snow and play with it. Also, its best to enjoy soup because its the perfect weather for it. I wish I get to try skating and skiing, I never done it before. But because of the pandemic, 2 winter passed and I still didn't try it 😂
Funny experience was taking a ride in a jeepney in Manila, getting all the attention of locals and shouting "bayad po" and handing over 7 PHP to the driver at the end :)
@@ChasingKimberly Do not avoid it. Not only it is a tradition, it is also a symbol of spring, fertility and good health. It reaches into pre-christian time, old pagan celebration of ending winter. And in Slovakia it is customary to pour cold water from pot or spray perfume in retaliation. Plus it is important day celebrating butts. Is there any other holiday of such importance? I do not think so.
This video made me appreciate my country and rumble less. I would like to ask you few questions: How often do you return to Filipines? How did your family handle the fact that you moved away from your country?
I haven't been to Philippines ever since ai came here in Slovakia, hopefully soon Ill be able to go back for a visit. My family was less thrilled but they always support my decisions so they let me be 😊😊
Dear Kim. Comparing Fillipina and Slovakia is a great thing, keep doing it.Compare, if possible, how the Filipinos are different from the Slovaks,or whether they can resemble something.PS:People from Slovakia are sometimes too curious. For example, why did you come to Slovakia?Your answer: I have a husband here. You'll see, they'll ask you in a moment:And baby, when are you planning?HA,HA,And most importantly, never lose that unique smile./Especially when you, as a woman eating meat, have to cook for your husband, who is said to be vegan.HA,HA/
@@ChasingKimberly that is right - Hey Kim already 7 years I don't have any TV and I don't miss it. I developed more craft skills and when somebody ask me when I can do that my answer is : I don't watch TV so I have lot more time for my personal development
Quite funny to realize, that all the things you mentioned as the advantages of my country, I found myself to criticize.. As I spend a few months in Switzerland, I compared several of these things, thinking that Slovakia is really horrible country, beacuse Switzerland is much better. But I see now that we sometimes forget to be grateful for what we actually have and we just compare... But I'm sure, that if you like Slovak conditions, you would really love the Swiss one.. Much safer, cleaner, transport much more accurate, not mentioning the beauty of the country for walks. But what I appreciated the most, was the system based on pure trust. As there's barely someone who would be able of stealing anything what isn't their, domestic sales in Swiss are often in form of take-product-and-pay-into-the-cash-box without anyone to control it just anywhere on the road. I think this is something what we, in Slovakia, could still learn from them :) .
Right, it's all about perspective. Most of the time, we only see the what we are lacking without even thinking about others. I like the concept of "take-product-and-pay-into-the-cash-box", I agree that other countries can learn from this. I wish to visit Switzerland someday! :)
Tam sa môže naučiť po vychodňarsky... ďalší svetový jazyk, univerzálny skoro v celom vesmíre. Viem o čom hovorím, pretože sme tri roky bývali v Kubachoch. Hádam, že neviete, kde Kubachy sú... 😀 Ak nie, tak to berte ako hádanku.
Hi Kim, what could I add to what you have said right now... I am pleased, even honored hearing about your experience. Nevertheless, we would not necessarilly be so excited as you are about everything in your list. Well I think I understand your point. First you appreciate the option or opportunity to for example go to park, or use public transport, or do your shopping in convinient way. But after several years or maybe sooner you will start asking questions. Does really have to be this park so untidy. Look at the other one how nice it is.... Or Does this bus really have to be late every day? Not a case in peak time when you have bus every few minutes but in odd times like really early in the morning when you have one or two in the hour. Or does this bus have to be so unclean? I dont mean it is lacking surgical sterility. I am talking about filthiness. There are surfaces which you can reach while sitting but I would never advise you to do so. Or does this shop assistant have to look at you like that? Does this other one even realize I am talking to him? Well and this will get even worse when you start to travel again and see in other countries that IT COULD WORK. So given that you have seen other places already, and still you have decided to reside here rather than anywhere else, my coclusion is you must love it here. And knowing that makes that feeling for a slovak person more enriching. Thank you.
Hi Stefan, thanks a lot always for your remarks! You have an interesting point of view as always. And yes, I love living in Slovakia, I really thin this country has great potential and is really beautiful 💚
@@ChasingKimberly Bang! You named it! Its royal highness, The POTENTIAL. By the way, where does it reside? Is there a palace? Or even temple? Kind of... Ish... Within people but not exacty among them. Within. It is more like the poeople have the potential, rather than hills, woods, valleys and rivers. And if people try, if they only try then they have the potential to turn hell into nice place. Or nice place into hell.

Thank you so much Martin 😉

Very nice, Kim. It is sad that many young Slovaks consider this country as backward dump that doesn´t deserve second thought and best thing they could do is to leave the country. And yes, there is lots of problems here too, but also lots of beauty, culture and history which sadly many people consider as boring and useless.
I think every country has its own problems. We just gotta look at the positive side of things and have a different perspective sometimes 😉
Good video kim i love you video sou much 👍❤️🇵🇭🇸🇰
I really value that you give me a different look at our country in your videos.
Yea, there are also positive things about Manila. Specially the people there, will always greet you with warm smile :)
Super konec😆👍
Many of people who is living the whole life in Bratislava are very critical about this city but they just can not appreciate how nice this city is. I have moved to Bratislava from another city in Slovakia (much more smaller one and much dusty one) and I just love this city.
I like the warm wather, fresh air, green parks and you can always do something here or meet somebody.
And about the air - that is true... in the city where I grew up there is much worst quality of air and because of that I got an alergy as a kid and it is still with me today. But here in Bratislava I can breath much more better.
Yup, totally agree with you. I hope more people will see it same way :)
Wow Kim, 😲😁you made me want to visit Slovakia in the future..hope your next videos will feature more places in Slovakia..thanks and keep safe always..
Thanks Mam Tess! :)
Kimberly you did fine job. Nobody like people from Bratislava because it's the only city rest of Slovakia is village for Blava
As I see you guys living in botanical garden which is very nice.
Thank you Vlado :)
👍👍👍 great info...
Can you please make video on basic businesses in Slovakia?

I spent 3 years of my life in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It sounds like Phnom Penh and Manila have a very similar standard of living. No sidewalks, no fresh air, no parks, heavy traffic and tones and tones of rice.
Right, been to Phnom Penh as well and I must say they have similarities :) But oh, I love the vibe of Phnom Penh city too!
Super video teším sa na ďalšie 👌👌👌

I was in Manila, pollution wasn't bad at all, I could see blue sky, when I was in New Delhi, India that was pollution - kind of fog with visibility 50 to 300 metres depends on day. And you could look into sun safely. Nice from you that you didn't mention bad sides of living in Slovakia especially in concrete blocks in capital where all junkies are. Also generosity and quality of service is quite questionable, but that's individual experiences. There are more beutiful places and cities in Slovakia than capital.
Totally agree, Slovakia is more than just Bratislava. Hopefully when things get better, i'd be able to explore more of this country!
Loved this video! Comparison is never good but you made it in a diplomatic cute way ;)
I didn't get the first point tho. Can't you buy everything at one place for example in a grocery store in the mall? If you would go to a mall's grocery store what would you miss from your shopping cart?
Also we love and appreciate our sun as well 😉 We're on the same page with that 🔆

I cant wait to resume my Bratislava walks when the pandemic is gonna ease a little bit
Ohhh me too! Specially now that spring is here!
Bratislava is quite comfortable to live in. What other towns in Slovakia have you visited? How did you like them? Make a video about that maybe?
Yes I will after corona. 😊
Even in Slovakia are some people (like me) who love rice and can eat it 7 times in week 😁
That's great, but I used to eat rice 3 times a day, everyday :D and that is the normal thing for us, I know some people who even eat more! haha

Kim, do you like winter as well? What do you like about the winter the most? Btw, there are a lot of nice plants behind you :)
I like winter too, but not as much as summer🤣 In winter, I am excited to see snow and play with it. Also, its best to enjoy soup because its the perfect weather for it. I wish I get to try skating and skiing, I never done it before. But because of the pandemic, 2 winter passed and I still didn't try it 😂
@@ChasingKimberly It's true. My skis are in the storeroom and I didn't take them for two years :(
Funny experience was taking a ride in a jeepney in Manila, getting all the attention of locals and shouting "bayad po" and handing over 7 PHP to the driver at the end :)
Hahaha! So you know what's like 😂
What about mountains? Was it the first time seeing some or do philipines have them too? And second question, have you been introduced to korbáč?
I have been avoiding korbáč 😂 We also have mountains in Philippines, but not as cold as Tatras!

How often do you return to Filipines?

Haha thanks a lot! 💚
