Paternosters are looping never ending lifts with no doors and endless cabs :)
A paternoster lift can be easy to use if you know how to use an escalator. It's very quick, and vintage 1950s :) There's also an Otis traction elevator built 1996 for anyone who needs to use the elevator, and for the jobs where the paternoster isn't appropriate, and it also works fine.
There are hundreds more Paternosters in Europe, including dozens in Hamburg: www.flemming-hamburg.de/patlis...
My channel webpage is snorkitty.com/
I didn't know elevator enthusiasts exist.
Of course I am too. My channel name is Franklin County elevators. I might order some elevators there.
There aren't as many elevator fans as busway or railroad fans out there.
I'm an elevator fan too!!
Ride it the whole circuit.
Here, in the neighboring Czechia, there are many paternosters, the same as this one. Most of them are in capital Prague in the buildings of ministries, historic offices, town halls... BTW I think it's really funny that a lot of people think about paternosters that are dangerous. Although the paternoster cannot fall into the shaft (because it's 100% full of all cabines) and whole system is secured against the grip of the passenger (for example, when someone falls during the exit or onset) I think that paternoster is perhaps safer than an ordinary lift.

Much better for claustrophobic people.
Didn’t know this existed gotta see this someday
Very cool. Enjoyed the video a lot!
What happens if you keep riding it past the last stop?
It circles back - stay securely in and hold on!
The compartment just goes sideways then down again on the adjacent lift shaft-it DOES NOT turn upside down!
The compartment is Folder together and inmate is squeezed to death
It just keep going. Some of them can get jammed though so you might get stuck and have to be rescued. It won't harm you but it could damage the elevator depending on the machine itself

I know that given the choice which one I would ride...the cool one! I like how they are all wood and look to run pretty smoothly. One question though...there are what looks to be three buttons on the panel between the up and down sides, I can see the bottom button is likely an emergency stop, but what do the other two buttons do?
I imagine in for example after an emergency or otherwise requiring non-normal operation, the paternoster has to be rotated only with human assistance, via this panel, for retrieval of people or items stuck between floors.
I am an American, & I listen to the American numbered 'Now That's What I Call Music!' CD's, & there is a much different 'Now That's What I Call Music!' series in the UK & Ireland. Maybe one day I'll give listening to a British 'Now!' CD a try. Maybe I'll try the British 'Now! 94', or the British 'Now! 101', or disc 1 of the British 'Now! 100' (the British 'Now That's What I Call Music!' series is currently on 102 albums, soon to be on 103, but the American 'Now!' series is only on 70 albums, & will later hit 71). Not completely sure on trying a British 'Now!' though, am I? I one time went on an Ireland trip & got 'Now! 96', but I only listened to the songs I knew (the American hits) & I did not listen to them in order, but I do somewhat have yet to listen to a British 'Now!' in full order.
Okay, Krauts, so your boss steps out and shouts, "Hold that elevator!" ("Halten den Aufzug!") ....Not wanting to anger him and possibly get fired, will your employment insurance compensate you for the loss of a limb in the attempt to comply?
....You know, I'm just trying to learn the etiquette! Okay?!? I don't want you Fritzies thinking we're barbarians or something.
Ok this elevator is illegal how this doors elevator has no doors
And thats why they make Stairs .lol
elevator enthusiast? yeah its so fun pressing a button and magically go up or down
What do you have aiganst Russians ? Did they ever do something to you I don't think so
KidsLive they invaded into my motherland
Is this enough?
Well the nazi's did too and u don't hate the german people step your argument up
What is wrong about them?
The elevators aren't just buttons, they have complicated engineering.
Let anyone do what they want, if you don't like it then don't watch and shut up.
This is just dangerous.
Nonsense
Not really; see Beno's video of a paternoster and its comments and he explains their safety features.
@@TheDragonFire123. Very true .I glad elevators have safety sensors and safety features. By the way. what time is it in your region?
A paternoster is exactly as dangerous as the person that uses it.
