I always did find funky being a blond-haired red bandana gorilla, in this version, an interesting idea. Like I get it's meant to play into his surfer trope. But it does a good job of separating his design from the other kongs. But you normally see funky with the same fur color as any other kong. In the early games at least. But more recent versions do seem to lighten his brown fur color. Still brown, but more of a caramel brown than the yellow hue we have here. Wonder if they took inspiration from this show. A part of me still kind of prefers the fully blond fur.
I like this show, it's not that bad. the only issue is that they should have done more episodes after forty, and why is it that they did not make these in order? Bad Hair Day is the first episode. ness682, this isn't a flame on you, it's fox not putting the episodes in order.

That's simple. You've first seen the English dub that you've become accustomed to, and now that you watch a version with different accents/voices, your not familiarized with it, expecting the somewhat same thing. I felt the same way as well. I just overall think the voices are best used here :P
Actually that's not true, if anything censors have eased up... For example shows are allowed to reference Death now, guns can show up without being magically turned into laser beams, LGBT characters are no longer forbidden, and hell even this very show is lacking on violence... Notice that as much as Donkey Kong talks about beating up kremlings.... there's not a single shot of a punch connecting outside of when tehy use the "DK's punch did nothing! He's a weakling now!" plot device... (which they only do twice) Hell many shows in the 90's were forced to have a moral shoehorned because of FCC Regulations (This is what the Wheel of Morality in Animaniacs was spoofing, Sonic The Hedgehog's Sonic Says segments and Sailor Moon's Sailor Moon Says segments were forced in by regulation as well. The Weird Al Yankovic show, much like Animaniacs made fun of this rule by making the morals intentionally have nothing to do with the show itself) Also Crap has never been a swear, just impolite... Dexter's Lab also used the word crap... it's technically always been allowed in Kid's Shows, just discouraged.
Funny... I just saw some episodes in French and even though it's the original dub, I feel that the English dub is much better. But then, I might be biased.
k rool's voice is fucking painful. i know this predates DK64 but really wish tht they came up with those ideas for K rool in time for it to make it into this DK is a little less painful but i wish they would've at least made it deeper. it'd make more sense if he sounded more like a teenager and less like a joke
