I second that! This is my go-to site for all things drum gear. The recordings are top notch and they have fantastic variety. Great people too! I bought the Tama SLP Big Black Snare from the demo. So good!
Your comparison/shoot-out videos are the best. I don’t find many other channels doing what you guys do and I really appreciate it. I like to learn about the new products and sounds.
The ones that stood out to me,..in no particular order -- The Duke, The Aviator, The Portsmouth and the The Bluebird. All are obviously beautifully crafted drums.
I have some 70’s Premiers and picked up some of the One Series, Aviator, and the monster 8x14 HR1480 snare before Premier closed. These drums sound - dare I say - incredible. The Bluebird makes me a brass fan all over again, it has some very serious thwack. And the Maverick sounds like it could do anything. All of their kits that I’ve heard are top notch.
The chief designer and one of the company directors used to be Premiers main designer. Keith keough (not sure I spelt that correctly). He went into business with a UK comedian called Al Murray when Premier went bust. That created The British Drum Company.
BDC. They are Amazing. The Portsmouth, the Duke, and the Aluminium snares got me hooked. Beautiful Drums. Thank You Shane and the DCP Gang for Showcasing these Outstanding British Gems.
Fantastic sounding drums! Great variety in sound and sweet on the eye. Perfectly presented by DCP too. The care you take with your presentation makes the difference. It’s almost like being in the room. I want one!
The Bluebird is basically a recreation of the 1960's Rogers COB Powertone: chrome over brass shell, double-beaded shell, except with 10 lugs. I'm in LOVE
All of the snares are fantastic instruments but I'm going with the 14x6.5 versions of the Aviator and Maverick. They both have a lot of thump with a very crisp attack.
The "Merlin" and "Big Softy" for me and the KICK sounds awesome love the click sound guys. There factory is about 50 miles from where I live I know Keith fantastic drum builder
I'm blown away from what this company has developed. GREAT DRUMS,not something just fancy with a big price tag,JUST GREAT DRUMS.There attention to detail in sound and appearance overwhelm me.The big question to me is why they haven't hit it big in the U.S.A. yet.The research and development that they put into there product will stand the test of time.Mark my word, this isn't a fly by night company. They are serious and committed at there craft.Im glad the good folks at DCP realize these are something special. As far as my taste in sound I'd have to take the big softy and the blue bird. Those would cover everything I'll ever play. Not wise to let your eyes do the thinking or I'd say the Portsmouth or archer. Both great drums, visually stunning.
Thanks for posting this. You have clearly put a lot of effort into the recording and the production - and you really do justice to the drums. As for the drums....I want them all. But if I'm only allowed one it would be the Bluebird. It is an incredible sound.
I’ve just ordered a lounge se kit and used your fantastic comparison to decide on a snare drum to compliment it . Thanks guys truly very very helpful and interesting. My choice is the Maverick I loved it’s soft rounded tones with very little overtone a beautiful sounding snare to my ears . I also liked the merlin although they were all extremely desirable.thanks so much a fantastic Chanel 👍🙏
I was in the shop today…I’ll be purchasing either the Maverick or the Bluebird next week…the decision is a tough one, which I have not made yet. Either one, I believe, will compliment my Eames set I’m building at the moment…it’ll be “the cherry on top”.
Shane... Thanks for promoting my friends at the British Drum Company! My favorite is the Big Softy and the Portsmouth. I own The Duke #44 of 50. Cheers!
they all sound good and they are all very beautiful instruments. my favorites are the duke and the archer. i am getting rid of all my snares deeper than 6 inches. i d'ont like the sound of deep snares as much as i used to. that duke snare has the sound i like nowadays. most of these snares are available in 5.5x14 and that is a very good thing.
Another fantastic video! - the Duke has a sound all of it's own and its simply beautiful, if i were to go out and buy one or two... it would have to be the Bluebird and the Aviator - and then probably the Merlin
Bog Man rules. The test is to not pay attention to the video while listening so when just the sound captures you then you know you have a reliable gut reaction. Then it helps to know that it was made out of wood that is a tiny bit older than I am.
Their drums are just incredible from sound to looks to build quality! Would I be going to drum hell if I said that I liked the sound of the Bluebird Snare Drum as much (or maybe a little more) than a Ludwig Black Beauty?!?
WOW These are amazing! it´s hard to pick one when there are so many great sounding snare from BDC I got hooked when I saw Nicko McBrain playing these drums. Thanks to the guys at drum center of portsmouth for making these vids of drum gear, so we can bleed our ears for hours ;) #britishdrumco #drumcenternh
I've just ordered a BDC Lounge drum kit in Windsor Dark 20,14,12 also a Merlin 6.5 snare. I am quite interested in the Talisman snare drum but so far I haven't found a proper video demonstration of one. You guys do the best video with audio. Do you think you will review one on video?
Congrats dude you Lucky devil that’s exactly what I’m trying to convince my wife what I need even in that same colour .although after watching this I’m considering the duke snare really nice 👌
So good to see more drum companies in the game. If I have to listen to one more DW kit (I’m no fan, DW stand for Doesn’t Work in my book).... BDC is a great idea. And they make great drums.
All the snare drums although are different sound phenomenal but having said that my God what a fat sounding bass drum damn that thing is thick good job fellas good job
Carbon test methods were never very accurate. That is why age of this bog oak can be much different (id est: "only" few hundreds years). In my opinion the best sounding snare here is Archer Snare Drum 14x6 made of English Yew.
We record all of the drums wide open so people can hear everything they put out. Most of the overtones you are hearing could be tamed with one well placed gel or piece of tape.
Why do drum companies feel that they can just take/steal another companies look(ie lugs) and if they tweak it just a little bit they think it is ok to call it their own? I see so many companies do this....if it is in homage to Ludwig I am cool with it but some companies are just flat out stealing their look.
you guys are just the absolute best drum channel in the world. I wish i had all the money in the world to give it to you guys!
Thanks so much, Giulio! We appreciate the kind words.

There are all great, without a doubt. But man, that Bluebird snare sounds absolutely amazing. 😍 What they all have in common: they ring forever.
The ones that stood out to me,..in no particular order -- The Duke, The Aviator, The Portsmouth and the The Bluebird. All are obviously beautifully crafted drums.
All of them sounded fantastic. Going to have to sell some of my organs to afford The Duke.
That Bluebird is insane. Wow.
Great job guys. Respect from the UK.
Thanks for watching, Tom. Cheers!
So blessed to be here choosing something from each brand, and you just can't go wrong with any.
British drum Co. is quickly becoming one of my favorite companies on the market! Such gorgeous drums that are truly pieces of sonic and visual art!
Wow. The Maverick has me mesmerized. I’ll have to swing by and take a peek.
Worth the trip!

It's absolutely our pleasure. Thanks for watching, Michael.
They're all superb sounding drums. However, I'd go for The Archer.. Great looks and sound.
Fantastic sounding drums! Great variety in sound and sweet on the eye. Perfectly presented by DCP too. The care you take with your presentation makes the difference. It’s almost like being in the room. I want one!
Gorgeous snares. I liked ALL of them.
Merlin and the Duke both sounded superb.
Cool seeing that Premier kick in the background. Fitting.
Good eye!
Aluminum did it for me. Great snares! Thanks DCoP!
They all sound and look amazing to me wow 🥁
The Bog Oak, the Aviator, and the Big softy stood out to me!

to the person who bought the duke, congrats. i wanted to buy it, but you have been faster than me. well done.
I’ll take them all! Especially the Bog Oak!
That Big Softy is something else dude holy hell
The "Merlin" and "Big Softy" for me and the KICK sounds awesome love the click sound guys. There factory is about 50 miles from where I live I know Keith fantastic drum builder

Very well said, David. Once you realize how meticulous they are when it comes to shell construction and the little details, you get it.
Thanks for posting this. You have clearly put a lot of effort into the recording and the production - and you really do justice to the drums. As for the drums....I want them all. But if I'm only allowed one it would be the Bluebird. It is an incredible sound.
Thanks for the kind words! We're big fans of British Drum Co.
Bog Oak is insane! Awesome video as usual guys!
I’ve just ordered a lounge se kit and used your fantastic comparison to decide on a snare drum to compliment it .

It's our pleasure. We're huge fans, ourselves!
Love, love, love these type of videos!
The Aviator.... Like a Zeppelin. A clue maybe? All gorgeous
I always thought of snare drums as a tool to make art. Now they're art too.
The Duke...I can't...words fail me (and I'm a person who never shuts up!). Beautiful looks and the sound! Oh, hell, I love ALL of them!!

Bem exótico porém com muita qualidade! Parabéns Drum Center. Salve aqui do Brazil - Ceará
I liked them all! Hard to choose one above the rest, but if you twist my arm I’d go for the bluebird. Thank you for the vlog,!
Thanks for watching, and for the feedback!
Drum Center of Portsmouth which one did you like the most.?
Bog Man rules. The test is to not pay attention to the video while listening so when just the sound captures you then you know you have a reliable gut reaction. Then it helps to know that it was made out of wood that is a tiny bit older than I am.
Excellent review,as usual, excellent snare drums that make a difference. All very beautiful although j prefer aluminium for my taste.
that aluminium snare sound awesome .
Fantastic showcase as usual

🤫
WOW These are amazing! it´s hard to pick one when there are so many great sounding snare from BDC

I am officially in love with these snares. Can you remember any of the tunings ? Please.
I really enjoyed the vid.... Along with Rogers snares, I'm a big fan of British Drum Co.... Now... Which one do I get🙄🙄🙄🙄. Keep up the good work guys
Oh, boy...The Merlin sounds so freaking awesome. The Archer! As James Brown once said, "Good God, y'all!" And...The Aviator! Aaaaaaaa! So gorgeous!
Amazing drums 😍😍
The Archer is on my wish list (well more like a dream list)
The BLUEBIRD man, sounds amazing

I was always a Premier guy till they closed the UK factory...I think I’ve found a new home!!👍😀
I'd have to go with the Archer. 😉
#1 Maverick
#2 Bluebird
All the others sound great too 👍
Wonder if BDC has a snare drum, or a complete kit, in the works with die cast hoops?
I was hoping that was in the plans, too.
So good to see more drum companies in the game. If I have to listen to one more DW kit (I’m no fan, DW stand for Doesn’t Work in my book).... BDC is a great idea. And they make great drums.
Hermosos redoblantes...!!!!!!!
Tienen sucursal o algún representante en Argentina.?
That bluebird 😍
All the snare drums although are different sound phenomenal but having said that my God what a fat sounding bass drum damn that thing is thick good job fellas good job
Duke, bluebird, aviator 😊
I really liked the sound of Archer and Duke, I also liked the brand name, I didn't like the symbol because I believe it should be more imposing.
Maverick ❤
Do they make bronze snares ?
Not as of right now, but they are always coming up with new things, so you never know!
Prefer the Bluebird metal snare, although not mad on brass .
Us, too.
The Bluebird snare drum sound really punchy!
I just want a drum kit from EVERY drum manufacturer! Ha ha! Same for cymbals! How does one choose?!
I'm a total brass guy
make drum samples
Beaded brass
Carbon test methods were never very accurate. That is why age of this bog oak can be much different (id est: "only" few hundreds years).
In my opinion the best sounding snare here is Archer Snare Drum 14x6 made of English Yew.
Betula - Came here to say this. Archer is the best one.
These snares have a weird ring to them.
We record all of the drums wide open so people can hear everything they put out. Most of the overtones you are hearing could be tamed with one well placed gel or piece of tape.
