I like the new sort of aesthetic they are going with for Downtown Disney. It’s very 50’s feeling, which is what Disneyland should lean into every now and again.
The moving room could also be the boulder room, the walls move to give the illusion we are backing up. But it only works half the time since when the jeeps are backed up it wont work and or doesnt have enough time to reset
That lines up with the control system replacement so the system doesn't shut down as often. I feel like a permit for the chamber of destiny getting fixed would be much more extensive.
@ryan7032 yes cuz the company that made it is out of business so disney would need to fix it themselves or find another company that can. Plus I think it was unstable by the time it was unused
I don’t know if that is defined as a room though. I agree when you say it is the most plausible, but the walls for the boulder room are kind of just on rails or wires or something, I can’t remember.
The "moving room" is likely the room with the giant ball. I just watched Behind the Attraction for this attraction on Disney+ just a couple of days ago and the Imagineer that lead the design on Indy showed in a scale model how that part works. The entire room moves to create the illusion of the ball moving. It's pretty crazy.
Nicely done David! Thank you! Considering that after 70 years, nearly everything at Disneyland needs to be refreshed or rebuilt, they are actually doing an amazing job! As always, the Cast Members make Disney Great!
Good to know that DTD is really starting to thrive again. Meanwhile Universal is basically gutting Citywalk right now. Closure after closure and rumors about more closures in that place
Thank you @freshbaked for not only doing us parks fans a service, but doing a major service for the Disney Parks management! I sure hope the parks executives are watching your videos to see how they can better improve the show! As the late Marty Sklar said, one of Mickey’s ‘10 commandments’ is “no bad show.” That’s crucial for a good parks experience!
hopefully, when the Earls and ESPN zone are finish they can work on the Star Wars Trading Post and Tortilla Joe's next. Im waiting on the day everything is completed and running!
“Stroke” Tiana at the end of the ride reminds me of the “Carrie” pose toward the end of the original Carrie movie when she stands on the street, telepathically flipping John Travolta’s car into a fireball. 🤷🏼♂️😂🤷🏼♂️😂🤔🤔
Usually change comes with apprehension and reluctance from me with Disney changes... but this is change I can get behind. We went two weeks ago and man, what a REFRESHING change it has been! Keep it up Disney.
You got to admit the 'Cozy Cones' closure is getting to be a bit ridiculous.... Anyway .... 'Downtown' is looking to become a 3rd Disney destination for O.C. locals- especially families who don't want to deal with the possible craziness at other 'malls' and want a safer/quieter environment. Good vid.
Loving all the new stuff in Downtown Disney. Big Earl's fan -- I remember eating at the old location, and went to the 'new' one on my trip this past summer. I'll follow it whereever it goes. 😅
I can confirm with 99.9% certainty that the burned break room has been demolished. The lack of a structure there is very visible from the Haunted Mansion wheelchair exit. The permit for Indy is absolutely for work on the boulder scene. There is no chance that they would bring back the door thing.
Agree they’ll never fix the Indy door mechanism…they already solved it with projection mapping instead of replacing the mechanics. Nothing further is needed for a seamless show. They will absolutely fix the boulder scene, which is necessary for the show.
The roofline for the 'breakroom' building next to the Water Tower At N. O. Station is definitely missing! The whole building could be gone or just the roof structure is being replaced...
We went to Downtown Disney on new years eve and had a really nice time. Live music, fake snow show, beautiful lighting, new stores to explore. And the highlight was the beignets. They have great glazes and dipping sauces. So good.
We went into the Wonderful World of Sweets Friday night and David I could not agree more! Fantastic! And the wonderful fresh-made Werther’s caramel corn…. Oh my gosh! Just like the kind you get in the Germany area of Epcot!!! Yum!!! 👍
The new store definitely has some thought and design aesthetic that is missing from the new Madame Leota shop. Much like an imagineer designed the candy shop and a merchant designed Madame Leota.
moments with Mr Lincoln date is set internally for 5/26. The team is busting their butts trying to get it done in time. This date was as of 1-1.5 weeks ago
The "Moving Room" is probably the area in the queue that has the collapsing ceiling and bamboo support that you pull on. Thoughts? That area also has guardrails.
David - if you noticed the Jungle Cruise water is equally green as well. That is because it is connected (under ground) to the river, as is the water in front of Adventureland and Frontierland entrances and I believe the castle moat. So those waters are probably the same color as well right now.
Dave go to the exit of HM where the accessibility elevator exits and you can see over the wall enough that at least when we went on the 18th and the building that caught on fire was torn down to the studs. I should have taken a pic. Hopefully this helps for some sort of vantage point
There will need to be multiple ways to cross over to Disneyland Forward. Wondering if in the future we'll see a way through the Frontierland/New Orleans Square station.
I am an east coaster who is in town once or twice a year and I really haven't spent much time in Downtown Disney and often won't even step into it, but now I must admit I am most interested in going just to go to Downtown Disney
It's been over two years since the New Orleans station caught on fire. The last two visits in 23 and 24 the station was covered up. I think it would be awesome if they fixed the doors in IJ. That is the last broken part, right? Disney has really been doing well about updating everything. Unlike most, I love all the improvements.
Do you think the Rainforest Cafe will ever return? Considering all the construction and refurbishment happening at DT Disney, you'd think they'd bring back RF Cafe? Starwars Trading Post is pretty bad to be occupying that building.
About Indy: "Moving Room" could also technically describe the rolling boulder scene, where the effect is created via the whole surrounding room moving backwards?
I hope Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will be open in time for the 70th. It was closed last time we went in July 2021. I also hope the Walt animatronic will be ready for the 70th.
grand CA is like a ride to me. I wouldn't stay, as I'm to frugal. but love to walk through and sit. I did stay in the past for about 2 nights, it was OK as I only slept there and spent ever waking minute in the parks.
A lot of the recent construction in Downtown Disney has been out of steel, which typically keeps the essential parts of the structure out of the interior of the building. That ultimately makes it easier when they decide that they want to “gut” a shop and re-theme it (no interior bearing spots). All that to say, it looks like the steel columns for the new Earl’s shop is only 2-stories tall. Wasn’t the original plan to have a 3-story Earl’s?
What's with all the Anaheim Ducks signage at Downtown Disney? I see a lot of people wearing Ducks gear too. Was there a special day for the team and their ticket holders or something?
David did you notice I World of Disney that they have a section specifically for theme park enthusiast play in the park they have their own little section and I am loving it I'm going to go shopping there after the 3rd and buy some gear for my brother and myself when we hit the resort on March 26th
The doors themselves did not move. The walls that frame your vuew of the doors is what moved. There are 5 doors and the walls would move left/right revealing only 3 days at any one time.
Pirates queue: I agree LL needs to go away, the queue loads quickly and Tiana’s and HM are now open. I went on Jan 25, though, and the LL queue was only the far left lane and the standby line went back and forth under the bridge twice and through the entire courtyard other than the far left lane for LL. So I wonder if they are slowly phasing out LL?
The moving room is 100% the boulder, that room moves and the Jeep sit still. Also they will never remove lightning Lane off of pirates now that they're selling a $400 premium. What's that rich guy going to do when he buys it for his family then walks to the first attraction Pirates of the Caribbean and they say nope no lightning Lane here, he's like "that's the only ride I know why did I waste my money". That will be on Lightning Lane forever now
Rainforest Cafe is VERY lowbrow, appealing to the Flyover state crowds. The new Downtown Disney is being reinvented to appeal to California locals’ ELEVATED tastes!!
I have mixed feelings about the Indy doors. If operational, it would be cool. Also, if operational it's one more point of failure that would result in a ride shutdown. And what is this new "Lightening Lane" @14:09? Does it make the line weigh less? ;-) I jest. 19:04 makes me quite sad. This is my favorite attraction. I don't understand why they would let it get this bad. What would Walt say? Fresh Baked!
I would not be surprised if they sell all those ESPN brick facade murals. . . Indy's "moving room" control system has a permit? I was hoping they were going to refurb that one area with the crates and stuff outside. Oh, well. . . The Rivers of America are so green, they look like the Jungle Cruise rivers. . . They demolished the break room? Finally? Good job! . . . Speaking of green water, yeah, they need to get the falls at Big Mountain going, and how's the pump water on Tom Sawyer's Island? . . . I still wish they would re-route Red Car Trolley down past Cars Land, past Marvel Campus and down all the way to Ariel's Undersea Adventure and beyond, but [SIGH]. . . So, I take it the water is back on in the ponds around Pixie Hollow? . . . I plan on visiting in February.
I like the new sort of aesthetic they are going with for Downtown Disney. It’s very 50’s feeling, which is what Disneyland should lean into every now and again.
looks plain. they should be more themed
The moving room could also be the boulder room, the walls move to give the illusion we are backing up. But it only works half the time since when the jeeps are backed up it wont work and or doesnt have enough time to reset
I think this is the most plausible explanation.
@AtHomeImagineering-b4e but what other room would it be cuz the chamber of destiny is a extensive one that requires a king closure
Guard rail and electrical as well?
Nicely done David! Thank you! Considering that after 70 years, nearly everything at Disneyland needs to be refreshed or rebuilt, they are actually doing an amazing job! As always, the Cast Members make Disney Great!
My company built the new Sweets store in DTD! I’ll let that team know!
Good to know that DTD is really starting to thrive again. Meanwhile Universal is basically gutting Citywalk right now. Closure after closure and rumors about more closures in that place
Thank you @freshbaked for not only doing us parks fans a service, but doing a major service for the Disney Parks management! As the late Marty Sklar said, one of Mickey’s ‘10 commandments’ is “no bad show.” That’s crucial for a good parks experience!
That’s it I want to work in Downtown Disney again! It’s so alive!
FRESHBAKED is DISNEYLAND!
Mondays are always better with Freshbaked!!!!
I'm just happy to have a Monorail and a Railroad for my April vacation! That's some great news for this one-a-year vacationer.
14:07 “buckets are moving… yay☺️”
FRESHBAKED is DISNEYLAND ❤
Love Dave’s sarcasm.
Like me, you're disagreeing with his perspective disney is still perfect?
Vertical Steel 👏👏👏
hopefully, when the Earls and ESPN zone are finish they can work on the Star Wars Trading Post and Tortilla Joe's next. Im waiting on the day everything is completed and running!
Omg the indiana jones news is the best news! Thats so exciting!!!! Id forgive many sins. Lol
I'm so excited!!! I'll be there in two weeks! 🍫🍬🍭🍪🍯
Usually change comes with apprehension and reluctance from me with Disney changes... but this is change I can get behind. We went two weeks ago and man, what a REFRESHING change it has been! Keep it up Disney.
Grizzly River Run does have a date if you go to the actual attraction page on the app it says March 13th. Just thought I let you know 😀
You got to admit the 'Cozy Cones' closure is getting to be a bit ridiculous....
Anyway .... 'Downtown' is looking to become a 3rd Disney destination for O.C. locals- especially families who don't want to deal with the possible craziness at other 'malls' and want a safer/quieter environment.

Loving all the new stuff in Downtown Disney. Big Earl's fan -- I remember eating at the old location, and went to the 'new' one on my trip this past summer. I'll follow it whereever it goes. 😅
Dave love your earl of sandwiche pic with sun at beginning of video. Pretty sure the permits for the boulder room in Indy.
I can confirm with 99.9% certainty that the burned break room has been demolished. The lack of a structure there is very visible from the Haunted Mansion wheelchair exit. The permit for Indy is absolutely for work on the boulder scene. There is no chance that they would bring back the door thing.
That room does move. You’re probably right
Agree they’ll never fix the Indy door mechanism…they already solved it with projection mapping instead of replacing the mechanics. Nothing further is needed for a seamless show. They will absolutely fix the boulder scene, which is necessary for the show.
The roofline for the 'breakroom' building next to the Water Tower At N. O. Station is definitely missing! The whole building could be gone or just the roof structure is being replaced...
@ As I said, from the angle I was at it was clear that the walls are gone along with the roof.
We went to Downtown Disney on new years eve and had a really nice time. Live music, fake snow show, beautiful lighting, new stores to explore. And the highlight was the beignets. They have great glazes and dipping sauces. So good.
I love your honesty in the Get Away Today ad, "you'll probably get a good deal there."
I use them and I don't know if I'm saving money, but I am getting terrific service.
We went into the Wonderful World of Sweets Friday night and David I could not agree more! Fantastic! And the wonderful fresh-made Werther’s caramel corn…. Oh my gosh! Just like the kind you get in the Germany area of Epcot!!! Yum!!! 👍
Love everything about the new DownTown Disney stores and restaurants. Now I'm really looking forward to Porto's Bakery. That will complete it🍩🍩🍪🍪🎂🎂🧁🧁
The new store definitely has some thought and design aesthetic that is missing from the new Madame Leota shop. Much like an imagineer designed the candy shop and a merchant designed Madame Leota.
Amazing video today, Fresh Baked! Thank you for bringing us the updates.
Earl of sandwich is my favorite place to eat
moments with Mr Lincoln date is set internally for 5/26. The team is busting their butts trying to get it done in time. This date was as of 1-1.5 weeks ago
The "Moving Room" is probably the area in the queue that has the collapsing ceiling and bamboo support that you pull on. Thoughts? That area also has guardrails.
That was my guess too. It's been broken FOREVER!
David - if you noticed the Jungle Cruise water is equally green as well. That is because it is connected (under ground) to the river, as is the water in front of Adventureland and Frontierland entrances and I believe the castle moat. So those waters are probably the same color as well right now.
The theme there at the Fantasyland Theater is definitely Tangled, not Beauty and the Beast. Note the Corona emblem and hair symbolism above the stage.
Dave go to the exit of HM where the accessibility elevator exits and you can see over the wall enough that at least when we went on the 18th and the building that caught on fire was torn down to the studs. I should have taken a pic. Hopefully this helps for some sort of vantage point
Great update from Disneyland Resort David
There will need to be multiple ways to cross over to Disneyland Forward. Wondering if in the future we'll see a way through the Frontierland/New Orleans Square station.
The moving room is the point on ride where the ride vehicle backs up to avoid the boulder.
Most treats made fresh are the BEST!!!
I am an east coaster who is in town once or twice a year and I really haven't spent much time in Downtown Disney and often won't even step into it, but now I must admit I am most interested in going just to go to Downtown Disney
We had the most scrumptious dinner at the Louisiana kitchen place I forget the exact name. And shakes oh my goodness.
When you were on the Mark Twain I saw a bulldozer over the fence at the New Orleans train station,so you could be right on the demo of the station.🤞
ESPN Zone looks like it's already moving quicker than Tortilla Jo's haha
Great video 😊
True the Indy doors used to switch.
Do you think the Rainforest Cafe will ever return? Considering all the construction and refurbishment happening at DT Disney, you'd think they'd bring back RF Cafe? Starwars Trading Post is pretty bad to be occupying that building.
……California locals demand better quality than the awful Rainforest Cafe. It won’t be back. (Tacky, touristy, 90’s era chain restaurants).
Would the treehouse give you a better view of the train tracks?
grand CA is like a ride to me. I wouldn't stay, as I'm to frugal. but love to walk through and sit. I did stay in the past for about 2 nights, it was OK as I only slept there and spent ever waking minute in the parks.
Very upbeat and informative report. Thank you❤
It would be great if Indiana Jones went back to the changing entrance doors. It was so fun to guess which door we would go through.
2 Stories with a Patio / outdoor area on top. Technically 3 stories. The posts do look like they support an open top floor patio!
Love your Toad's hat 💚
"Moving Room"
Could be the Spike Room in the queue.
Is there anywhere in DTD to buy art prints anymore? I loved getting postcards and Disney prints.
❤
What's with all the Anaheim Ducks signage at Downtown Disney? I see a lot of people wearing Ducks gear too. Was there a special day for the team and their ticket holders or something?
They had a fan event at DCA on Friday with all of the players
whoever's in charge of refreshing shops is doing an amazing job!
That don't be sad jumpscare so good
Moving room probably the boulder room. It's the room that moves not the boulder I think. Could be either though.
Could the moving room be where the boulder rolls down?
David did you notice I World of Disney that they have a section specifically for theme park enthusiast play in the park they have their own little section and I am loving it I'm going to go shopping there after the 3rd and buy some gear for my brother and myself when we hit the resort on March 26th
Can they fix the doors! I don’t think it’s that but still exciting for improvement!
I'm bummed I missed you!! Was there Friday and Saturday this past week
The indiana jones moving room is the boulder room. :( but it’ll be great if it works every time!
Grizzly river run is back on march 13th!
Looove earl of sandwich ever since I tried it in las vegas
The doors themselves did not move. The walls that frame your vuew of the doors is what moved. There are 5 doors and the walls would move left/right revealing only 3 days at any one time.

OMG--THE DOORS! Fingers crossed...
Good morning Dave I will be at Disneyland February 15
The Indy moving room is the end scene where Indy is hanging.
Is Disney planning on doing an Eastern Gateway again? To make up for the parking they are going to be taking out for Disneyland Forward.
Moving room can be the Ball area. I think it moves Foward to simulate car moving back
I hope we make it past this era of “the parks are never more than 70% open” soon
how many attractions are closed?
Very excited for earl’s I have never had earl’s so I am going to have it the next time I am at Disneyland
I have I love Earl of sandwich
It reminds me of Bing Bongs!
Does Get Away Today work with Paris Disney?
Hi how are you doing today and have fun at Disneyland
Hey David! When did you shoot this?? We were out there over the weekend at DTD on the main storage in the afternoons. Sorry I missed you!
Do you think you could do how to use Mobile Order 101 for the technology challenge?
⏳⁉⁉are the piranhas workin now? does any one know ? We are going very soon!!‼‼‼
Hey Fresh Baked!!
The 3 doors in Indiana Jones would be a great start. How about the 3 cannons in Rise of the Resistance??? I'm sure it's just a "controller problem".
Could the Indy moving room be the portion of the queue where the roof comes down if you pull the bamboo pole?
DTD looks like fun browsing but certainly not a place to shop. Everything is cool, but so expensive…even the chicken sandwiches. 😂
It would be nice if they brought back more things to actually do, like the arcade or Void vr experience
👍🏻😀
The moving room is 100% the boulder, that room moves and the Jeep sit still. Also they will never remove lightning Lane off of pirates now that they're selling a $400 premium. That will be on Lightning Lane forever now
Ordinary adventures probably lost their minds over Poppi.
Is it maybe for the finale? Re Indiana Jones? That room also "moves"...
The moving room might be the boulder room because the room moves around you
14:10 - quick note to your editor, check the spelling of Lightning Lane.
mama oddie with the mean T pose😤
I remember eating at the Rainforest Cafe there. I loved place! Are they thinking of bringing it back any time soon?
I just commented on that. I hope it does come back.😊
Rainforest Cafe is VERY lowbrow, appealing to the Flyover state crowds. The new Downtown Disney is being reinvented to appeal to California locals’ ELEVATED tastes!!
I have mixed feelings about the Indy doors. If operational, it would be cool. Also, if operational it's one more point of failure that would result in a ride shutdown. Hi David! Any plans on construction updates at Universal?
Does all those sweets they make there end up in the parks or it’s just for downtown Disney and hotels
