- The all new Buddy Flex Cooker!
Guys this cooker works how it should. I think it is a decent attachment to the flex heater.
The cooker attachment took me a minute to figure out how it attached to the flex heater but it ended up going together pretty well!
Defiantly check one out if you get the chance!

Wow thanks for spending the money to review this. I definitely will not be buying it. Some of the absolute worst engineering I’ve seen in a long time. Again thanks for spending your money to review it.
Not a fan of you using the rubber spatula. Why use that awkward small end?!
Kinda useless if you can't use both at the same time.
The cooker's 8000btu on its own, what the heck would I need the rest of it for? The main 'flex' unit doesn't have that much more to give over the cooker, and both don't run at the same time. Thumbs-up for the vid/demo, but this setup is a little too silly for me.
Lol who ever designed both of those should be fired
I completely agree for so many reasons.
U shud be able to hook the cooker up directly to the propane source
The hoses attach awkwardly as hell
Now u need 2 devices to do the same thing u useta be able to do with one
Its bulky as hell
And u know as soon as it gets good and cold thise batteries are gonna die and you will be trying to light that thing with a match
I think this heater is awesome for the people that can afford it. Only makes sense to have it
Why on earth would I want such a convoluted setup. I could just hook a canister directly to my Coleman stove and be done. I agree, someone at Mr Heater got a little to overzealous with this!
Does the same thing as my little butane stove, but takes up 40x more space in the sled.
Huge waste of money bro, get the tanktop burner. Unless I was sponsored and they gave me these items free I would never use this
so you freeze to death while cooking your food? Well who's the genius who designed that?
Yeah about that the stove is supposed to give off enough heat during the off period.
The mr heater ppl have lost their minds
The new hunting buddy sucks real bad.
Its meant to break and costs almost double what the red buddy heater is.
I'm betting that they phase out the $69 buddy. Hard to find one now.
Yeah I getcha
I just got one they are 89 $ now
The new one has plastic doors and covers made of plastic. The backside of plastic under the screws breaks and it looks fine until you pull on the back and it almost comes off. The doors feel like they'll fall off. I didn't get to putting the battery in because so many things were broken new in box. They had 5 other heaters with opened boxes. I assume they'd all been returned. The service staff
tried challenging that "how do you knows its broken if you never hooked propane to it?". I said it would be unsafe but let's try right here right now. They declined and refunded my cash.
I was not a happy customer and I resented them trying to imply "user error" was the issue. Angry? Yep
I'm a waterfowl hunter and use Buddy heaters in duck blinds. Dogs and drunk hunters may be involved. The hunting buddy would never survive what I put the red buddy heaters thru. If youre into hunting buy 3 or 4 buddy heaters now because the new version sucks bad in comparison. Serious talk.
IF you COULD add a regulator at the quick connect for the cooker, It SHOULD be able to run independently, propane filter (Mr Buddy makes) would be wise. pretty cool little setup, thanks for your reviews, I will probably never find myself ice fishing, eh? But I do alot of winter camping in my rig, Have used the other buddies before. Hmmmm
Glad I saw this before I spent money on that, thanks.
I think you can buy and use it separately... I don't want the heater... just the stove.
There's definitely some things that could have been thought through more like why not the ability to use both at the same time, why does the adjustment for the heater need to be at the back where you have to reach around to access, why can't the cooker be clipped onto the top of the heater so you could use the heater as a secure and raised table to cook off of. Why a battery ignition when a simple piezo works so well. Why a tool-less battery compartment for the heater but frigging around with a screw for the battery compartment on the cooker. They dropped the ball on a lot of aspects on this flex line of units especially for the price and it seems the longer you look the more flaws you find. there's many reasons why I will opt for a little buddy heater and a cooking attachment or just bring along a pocket rocket or the like
You nailed it I do like the heater itself but the cooker needs wokr
If you cant use them at the same time then its kind of pointless, buy a heater separately and get a cheap butane stove, save money and you can use both at the same time.
or stay home and have your mommy cook your dinner.
The only thing I see good about this heater and cooker system is the durability of it. Looks pretty tough, but other than that from how you have to hook things up to price of it I would not get one of these. I'll be keeping my 10 dollar Walmart camp stove that's lasted me almost 20 years so far. Thanks for the review!
Controls in the back? Don't like that, weird design?
Looks like a pain in the ass to set up to cook. You were reaching to the back to the controls while flame on & could potentially burn your arm?
On the front if you turn it around!
That tailgate of the truck can be leveled by pouring some Epoxy with cool design
I’ll stick with my single burner. Good video.
please explain, why wouldn't I just buy the cooker alone? and the cooker puts out heat when I just need heat. Couldn't I just connect the bottle directly to the cooker? is there any reason why that would not work?
The cooker only hooks directly into the flex heater
Un f..king real. I bought the Flex Cooker thinking I could use it by itself. Luckily I basically ended up getting it for free but what POS.
It does say in some tiny ass print "Designed only for use with Buddy Flex heater." Which does you no good if you're not looking at the box. smh
I've been waiting about 15 years for Mr heater to wake up and fix their problems and they produce this!? I'm blown away by the waste of time/money of mr heater products... How about redesigning the little buddy ignitor button? How about making the buddy heater with more settings? Smh... Unreal
If I was a heater designer I would dethrone and bankrupt mr heater with a couple minor adjustments
@@user-xw7zw5ek5d I saw a video where a guy took a little Buddy heater and turned it into a grill by taking the front wire cover off and putting it upside down but sticking out from the top. Then he propped up the end sticking out and there you have it. He did it to cook fish while ice fishing.
@@seanhammer6296 can even buy a paint rack or buy tray that sits right on top of buddy heater. Already made tray is $30.00 paint racks are cheaper.
@Sean Hammer,You bought just the cooker right?
NOTE: To Mr. Buddy Heater Company
MR Heater is going to lose a lot of sales... if people don't tell the viewer that they can use these separately... I for one do NOT want to buy both of these to use together...
I know for a fact you can use the Heater by itself....
LOOK at all the comments that do NOT want to BUY this combination....
Please set us straight...
Can we use the STOVE by itself?
NO, you will need many adapters, I'm currently dissembling my FLEX to use just the cooker so now I have a junk heater.
@@Wisconsin_Fisherman
Why? You can put the 1 LB propane can in the Heater... and use it. The sell the heater by itself ... you don't have to have the stove to use the heater... but apparently you have to have the Heater to use the stove.
What did you use to just use the stove?
Great vid. Crappy design by Mr. Buddy. Buy an adapter and connect the stove straight to the tank. It puts out heat, you can cook on it and that way you can also place controls facing forward. Don't waste money on the heater itself.
good idea
Have you done that?
mabey use the spatula the right way ? wtf
neat.
the packing away design is nice.
but I'd rather go with a single burner.
but for the low oxygen sensor, the buddy cook attachment is safer in a tent
Goofy build
Where do you camp? I’m coming by for some of those eggs!!! 😂🤣👍🏽
I can get you some near Trego Wi 🤣
A user of these heaters/stove, said if yer using a hose, even if it is an approved buddy hose other than the 10' ONE I believe, will release an oil from the rubber, a plasticizer, that will eventually destroy the heater, causing it unuseable. The remedy to this is to install an inline gas filter, how long these will last is anyones guess.
the attachment is super sweet......but I might stick with the coleman burner
Those eggs got burnt on the bottom guaranteed while your mushrooms were still raw
Don’t care, still made a turd.
LMAO, my sentiments.
Here's an idea... Spin them around or stand on the other side and nothing will be on the back
get a fuel filter for it or after a while it will clog..... there is a site that has all the runtime for all the mr heaters for full and min for all tank sizes
IF YOU WANTED COULD YOU USE A MR. HEATER LONGER HOSE ? PLUS USE A MR. HEATER FILTER SO THEY BOTH DON'T HAVE ANY ISSUES FROM A NON MR. HEATER HOSE USING A 20 POUND PROPANE CANISTERS / TANKS .
THANK YOU ! BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ALWAYS ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED ! THE CAMERA & THE FILM CREW DID A GREAT JOB 👍 👌 HELPING & FILMING THIS VIDEO . JUST WANTED THEM TO KNOW !
Nope, I've been keeping my eye out for something like that but haven't found anything so far. It looks like you can unscrew the female fitting on the cooker and may just screw another hose onto it. I'm gonna try that pretty soon.
Seems like too much work. I'd rather have an extra bottle of LP and the grill or camp stove. I'll stick with our old Buddy.
They have heat powered fans that clip right on top of them also $80 ish on Amazon, I posted a link on one of your other vids along with a UA-cam video of it being used.
Can you buy just the cooker and hookup/use by itself? Or does it require the buddy system to work?
It wouldnt be bad to purchase just the cooker & hookup to 1lb tank...just use it by itself for heat and cooking in the shanty
No, it has a specific quick disconnect into the heater that is proprietary.
Am sure it could be retrofitted & someone will.
@@roniler7960 That's what I thought. Haven't seen it so far.
Just bought this setup a couple days ago - I really like it.
To stack the stove and heater together, simply flip the stove grate upside down.
It does not say to even touch the grate in the direction though, I thought the same thing at first
I think it's pretty neat if ya got $300 bucks burning hole in your pocket.. lol.
EXCELLENT Video...
Thank you for sharing this...
Question: Can I just use the Mr. Heater "FLEX" Stove by itself?
NO
@@Wisconsin_Fisherman
Which is STUPID... on Mr. Heater's part...
Someone said you can on Amazon by buying a adapter, regulator and special hose
I like the 180° heater. I’m confused why the controls are on the back of both units, so you have to lean way over it.
just turn them around so they face the font.... heater on the right dosent anyone see this. this guy has them sitting backwards on his tail gate daaaaaaa
Can you use this cooker with just a butane, or propane canister only?
Nope, but you may be able to find a quick connector and make your own adapter I’m gonna look into that
A Lil tank lasts about 3 to 5 hrs
When cooking the heater is out of play and the back is now the front.
Turn everything around for cooking so both dials face you;
It's all perspective.
Awesome vids.
I gave up on the big bottles to much to pack. Stop at your local rv store and you can build a hose to fill 1 pound bottles for 20$. Pack one full in heater one spare. A one pound bottle is good for about 4 hours on full 5-6 on low. With a big buddie heater. I do a lot of snowmobile fishing in Canada so packing light and simple means a lot. Glad I watched your videos I don’t think I will buy one of these as I only usually cook hot dogs for the little guy when fishing lol.
Exactly video 😎👌Only the staff appeared in your video 😁😁😁
Just an idea, but for 2021,
could everyone agree to not to use the term "bad boy" anymore when referring to inanimate plastic and that?
Three times in 2 videos. It seems to be a thing.
Would you rather have good girl? Or whatcha thinking? Lol
@@Wisconsin_Fisherman go with bad ass...for both
I hope to see a video from your hunting stand but I hope you don't get time bud!! I hope all your time there is short and sweet to get You, Dad, and Mrs. Wisconsin Fisherman's deers 🦌!! Good luck Guys!!
Can the cooker connect directly to propane tank?
No unfortunately
"It's not a fancy dancy dinner or anything" LOL, what?! To me it definitely is!
It’s a bad design.
Fancy. They need a Mr. Buddy Star Bucks version. HEHE.. Looking forward to your ICE vids
That would be awesome! Lol
Why cant you use the heater and the cooker at the same time?
No idea, just how it is lol
@@Wisconsin_Fisherman 10 4 good buddy!
2:17 "Snugger doooown!" 😂
Just like that!
Getting fully prepared eh. Thing looks nice
I prefer my Mr heater quiet blind heater from Cabelas. $70 and you just flip it on its back to cook.
Nice! not too bad!
That sounds cool.
Thanks for taking the time. I have a flex and now will get the stove as well...
Glad to help
Gotta do some serious catch and cooks on the ice
There's snow ice on some lakes
Haven't seen one of those yet!
Gonna catch them catfish
I think it’s a awesome concept. I just think it’s so expensive, they need to come out with a combo package lol
Where’s the fishin vids @ Kyle?!?!
We’re gettin there lol
For the big tank hook up is it quick connect or have to take anything apart to hook up extension hose
Screw on hose
@@Wisconsin_Fisherman Have you done that?
When are you gonna do some bow hunting? It’s the rut!!!!
Been hunting and filming, no kills yet!!
Cool man cool keep at it the bucks are chasin
Neat concept just a little pricey.
Can you run the cooker on a 1lber stand alone?
Maybe if you put a quick connection on the cylinder
@@Wisconsin_Fisherman super curious! If we can run that solo vs the large flex setup!
@@ItsChoeTime I doubt you could being he said it dose not turn off without the stove
@Don Payne He was wrong about that. You can turn the cooker off with the nob on the cooker.
This is freakin amazing
What a piece of Junk! What are its advantages? Nobody gonna buy this crap!
