I totally agree, the goblin barrel evolution is good in every deck archetype other than log bait. Which is how everybody uses the card, making an evolution goblin barrel with shield or that survives log makes much more sense.

Honestly if you get royal hogs with evo goblin barrel, the other guy is done for even with duchess
dude, the purple diamond shows where you place the unevolved barrel.
Goblin barrel is worth it on its own if undefended. Decoy barrel isn't, because the decoys are fragile. If you can't afford to tank both lanes, then the goblin barrel should go solo and the decoy one should go to the lane that you'll tank. That way you protect your most fragile goblins.
Also, you said that it is designed to be a 1-0 win condition. Maybe the evolution seeks to change precisely that: as you've seen, evo goblin barrel is strong against the king tower because you can throw both barrels on the tower.

I think they should add a second evolution to evo drafts now that there are 2 slots, makes it more balanced so that both you and your opponent pick an evo

Evolution barrel can be very powerful with some creativity and knowledge
like evo barrel is just evo recruit but cheaper
people think they re good until they learn how to counter it
the point of goblin barrel is to chip tower damage so by the time you get the evolution, the enemy knows what tower are you going for so the decoy barrel is useless
The title is pretty convenient since Dagger Duchess is getting nerfed
evo goblin barrel is ok but people will usually use it wrong and use the real goblins on the lower health tower which makes it easier for you to know which side they’re going on.
Other evolutions: “THIS CARD IS SO BROKEN” “META DESTROYING CARD?!” “COMPLETELY BUSTED CARD” “OVERPOWERED CARD NEEDS NERF”

with evolution barrel, you can send a miner to where the fake goblin are gonna land so the enemy think it the main one, (and sometime you send the miner or a tank to the real goblin, so the enemy never know)
If you send miner +evo barrel to a DD ,both the miner and bot the goblin'll be delete
The problem with goblin barrel isn’t even the EVO itself, it’s dutchess

Honestly there’s situations where it’s 100% appropriate to take evo barrel, like if your choice is between evo barrel or evo zap/ice spirit. But if it’s between evo barrel and evocracker, or evo barrel and evo knight/wizard, the choice is very obvious.
The last challenge really got me into challenge 2v2 though, which is fun because each teammate gets an evo.
