    The Supro 6166 uses the least DSP of any of the amp models in the Helix, and so for this reason alone, I think it's a pretty good choice for folks wanting to experiment with stuff like the Space Echo, Posh reverbs and multiple drive pedals....

    Thanks for this video John. Videos like these are inspiring for me. Always appreciate it when you add presets to the folders.

    After watching this I immediately went to my HX Stomp and created a Supra preset tailored to my needs. It may become one of my most used presets. Love it! Thanks, John.

    Once I used the Supro amps in Tonex and the community the Helix Supro was dead to me and found myself wanting to go buy the real supro amps.

    This Supro tone really surprised me, it's amazing! Thanks John, for that.

    Great dialing in video! It is helpful to see how you approach building a preset from start and which tools that help you to get the sound you want. And beautiful playing as always.

    Excellent tone. Its amazing what you can do once you really understand how to dial in the helix amp / cab

    Hey John, I'm really liking your channel. Just subscribed. Love your style of playing and teaching.
    I recently got the helix floor. I've been messing around with it, trying out the 3.5 presets. It's been fun so far, but there is soooo much to learn about it.

    Very interesting, thanks.
    A video on the harmonic and structural considerations you make while building the tracks on which you improvise would be interesting.
    Sorry for my English.
    I'm using google translate.

    I really thought that piece at the beginning was great. Love the tone. I would like to see how you actually put that together during the recording to see what final polish you added, as I feel there is more there in most cases than what I would hear if you did that live...with just the Helix alone (and a backing track of course)...I don't think I ever get the Helix and my Fender Strat sounding that good sitting in my guitar room with my Focal FRFR speakers...am I right or wrong on that John?

    How is you guitar volume pot setting when you play? Always 10 or does it change? You could share this info too

    I dig that model, but I really wish Line6 would model a Blackmagik. I really love that amp and it's my main gigging amp.

    I am considering buying an HX Stomp but just bought a Supro amp… maybe I return it now that I know I can have the Supro for cheaper without the weight 😂

    Fuuuckin' YES!!! This is the best sound I've ever heard a anyone get out of any Helix unit using a strat, as well as one of the best Strat sounds I've ever heard (to whit: maybe I just don't like the sound of Strat pickups)!

    what's the wildest preset you've built on a helix?

    Long shot that you might see this… but… I wondered if you know how to create the first few pedals of Andy Othlings ambient pedal board - (ehx 8step program into old blood noise endeavours sunlight)… long story short but the 8 step creates randomness and blips from the loop and the OBNE hold that as a constant reverb state… anyway yeah I can’t seem to figure a way on the HX stomp…..

    • @rhitosparsha
      @rhitosparsha Рік тому

      I've only used Helix Native, so I haven't used the loopers, but maybe you could use the Shuffling Looper and the Glitch Delay to get somewhat similar results to the 8step? As for the OBNE, you have the Poly Sustain for holding something indefinitely, but it consumes a lot of DSP, so I'm not sure how much you'd be left with after adding it to the signal chain.

    • @tomknox8196
      @tomknox8196 Рік тому

      @@rhitosparsha is there a way to activate the poly sustain automatic so it hold the last note fed into it? Rather than just hold the last note when I turn it on? Or a way to turn it on then off for a second and back in? Which would kill both birds with one stone…?

      You just explained why I never dared to switch to a multi fx 😂 I just love my weird pedals too much. But I am considering the less I enjoy schlepping heavy boards around to use a combination of sth like the stomp with just a few of my favourite pedals. Sorry I couldn’t answer your question 😅

    Great playing technique btw.However, I feel a lot times the emotional impact of your songs is lost in too many forced arpegios.
