It was great to watch someone else read Hidden Pictures. All of your reactions made me smile. If you want one with twists and cliffhangers at the end of each chapter, you should read “The One” by John Marrs.
Okay can we talk about the awesome soundtrack, and how at 4:03, the lights behind you look like evil eyes watching you read from behind? So perfect LOL…Happy Anniversary to such a great, sweet, funny and charming couple!! You guys are SO LOVED!!…oh and HECK YEAH!! It’s Ian time!! Miss you friend!!
I rewatched up to that time stamp and you’re not kidding😂 and thank you!! Ash and I had a great time!! And yes, it’s been too long since I posted. But I am back for good!!!
@@iangubeli like I said before, life be life-ing! All of my fave BookTubers have taken breaks, long, short, vacation, mental health breaks, whatever. You and Ashlynn do what you need to do to be happy and take care of yourselves. Not only that, but it’s YOUR damn channels, nobody elses. You guys still make me want to start my own channel…maybe after the holidays. Finally, been waiting to chat with ya about this-FINALLY finished “The Stand” last week. And I’ll probably have people making my image into voodoo dollars after this, lol, but I LIKED it, didn’t love it. It had a major plot hole over something for me, and I felt the ending was tied up too fast. Which, as it was the extended version, I’m sure Sai King was like “Please, Lord take the wheel, pen, typewriter,” and was just thrilled to be done with it. I gave the plot three stars, the characters though-10 put of 5! I loved me some Trashy and Tom Cullen lol
Hidden Pictures is what got me into horror/thriller vibes! I absolutely loved that book! I can’t recommend it enough! The plot twist and pictures were CRAZY!!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed Hidden Pictures! I had so much fun with it and it was a wild ride. I went ahead and downloaded Dark Matter and Rock, Paper, Scissors so I can listen to the audiobooks. The way you talked about them made me want to read them too. And I hope you and Ashlynn had a great anniversary together!
This time of year just sucks any reading motivation out of me. These videos really help, I often read as I watch these and feel like i have a reader friend : )
The chestnut man by Soren sviestrop is sooo good. Was a 4.5 for me. I listened to the audiobook a few years ago and immediately had to buy the physical copy so that I could keep it forever.
I read Hidden Pictures in a vlog we posted last month. That book was SO crazy! I didn't have Dark Matter on my radar, but now I do. You have convinced me.
Dark Matter is one of my favorite books of all time, I just about read that cover to cover. I was glad to see your reaction, and that you enjoyed it as well! I also really enjoy his other novel, Recursion, although people don't seem to like that one as much.
Rock paper scissors was so amazing. Not many thriller can get to me. But it was one of very few of them Also Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney was such a great thriller too. You may get attached to characters which is rare in a thirller book.
I just read Dark Matter for the first time recently. I finished it at my Silent Book Club and convinced 5 people to buy the book on the spot. It was a 5 star read and I would not have picked it up if it wasn’t for Ash and Ian. Ian, thank you so much for telling me about this book! It broke my brain in the best of ways! I just finished the Apple TV series and I would say it’s about 60% accurate to the book. They added a lot of extra stuff, but I still really liked it. I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it!
Watching these videos for the first time as I just got back into reading after a long hiatus. Its funny I never realized how deep we as humans breathe when reading 😆 its on every booktubers channel so just something I never realized until it was recorded
I finished Paper Rock Scissors because of your review, I really liked it, had to keep picking it up every chance I could, thank you. And I had already read Dark Matter and Hidden Pictures, loved them both. Great video Ian!
Whoo hooo! New video! Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn is not only my favourite thriller, but also one of my favourite books of all time in general. Can highly recommend! Hope you're doing well dude and don't let the channel stress you out, post what you want and when you want- we'll be here!
So fun to watch your reactions to these books, I have Dark Matter in my TBR and really hope I can squeeze it in soon. As I mentioned in Ash's video when she read Rock, Paper, Scissors, I'd like to recommend you read Daisy Darker also by that author, I had a blast with it 😊
I'm currently in the midst of reading Hidden Pictures, and I absolutely loved watching your reactions! I look forward to your next upload. Take care guys x
I enjoyed Dark Matter so much. Weird thing I added it on my tbr and a few days later I found it at the thriftstore. So I had to buy it and read it duh! AND IT GAVE ME NIGHTMARES !
I saw *the* blooper on Ashlynn's video before watching yours, super happy it was included in her thriller vlog too! I loved Hidden Pictures! Did NOT see that twist coming! But I'm also really awful at guessing how thrillers will end! I recommend The Only One Left by Riley Sager!!
That Ashlyn Caylee channel is amazing as is this one. Whoever her husband is hit the lottery 😉. You two have quickly become my 2 fav people to watch and so happy you found each other if ever their was a perfect match its you two.
Awesome creepy soundtrack with this one!! I read Rock, Paper, Scissors a couple of months ago, and it kept me reading, but in the end, I still hated all the characters in it. I think there were too many obvious holes and too many twists for me to give it a decent rating. I'm looking forward to reading Dark Matter soon because I've read a lot of his other works and highly recommend his Wayward Pines series. And now I need to check out Hidden Pictures as it sounds like it right up my alley! 😊 Ty!
So excited for the new video! I hope you'll read house across the lake by Riley sager soon. I couldn't put it down, I read it 3 days which was a first for me!
Just found your channel and binged a few. I’ve agreed with your ratings/comments for the ones I’ve seen so far (LOTR, GOT, Atlas Shrugged, Fahrenheit 451, HP series). Of the three on this video, I’ve only read ‘Hidden Pictures’ and this is the first time I slightly disagree with you. I thought a lot of it was boring and would have rated it a little bit lower. But I do also hate the whole miscommunication thing in books and agree that that side plot wasn’t necessary.
I definitely recommend behind her eyes by Sarah Pinborough! Had my jaw on the floor!!! They also mad a mini series for it which is also great to watch after.
Thank you!! The music took days to flesh out. And I am happy the reactions were enjoyed. I didn’t want to just give aimless commentary between boring montages!
I love this.... can we get another one of these in October? Have you considered reading "Between Two Fires" by Christopher Buehlman, great horror/Thriller
Hidden Pictures has been on my TBR for so long lol, yet I never seem to get to it. As I said on the video where Ashlynn read Dark Matter, I wish I'd heard your summary of it before I read it. I already knew the twist and didn't realize that it was supposed to be a twist until halfway through the book. I think I'd have liked it so much better not knowing, though admittedly spoilers are not usually an issue for me. Love your energy and your videos, definitely subscribing.
I hate it when I know the twist (or guess) it prematurely. I don’t whether it’s just poor writing on the authors part, or my brain just trying to be twenty steps ahead because it thinks it’s smart😂
Hidden Pictures is one of my favorite horror/thrillers. Glad you enjoyed it. Definitely check out The Only One Left by Riley Sager, The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D Jackson (Carrie retelling), and The Last Word by Taylor Adams.

(Forgot I have not read Wayward Pines series yet)
I have wanted to read Wayward Pines for a long time! He does seem (on the surface) that he is a man in STEM. His books just give that feeling off.
Your videos are the best!! 😁 I would love to hear your thoughts on The Last House on Needless Street by Carolina Ward. It's quite odd 😂 thank you for stellar content!!
