Personally I think that the pearl version is the best by a mile. Pearls have such a quiet, understated elegance.
Emeralds, green is my favorite color.💚
Pearls are my favorite look!
This tiara is indeed very famous and I must say it is one of my favorite in the British royal family collection and I like the three versions because they take a different look-
All 3 are beautiful for different dressings/occasions; but ny favorite is the emerald tiara. I love emeralds.❤
All the versions are stunning also the widow version but it's more which gala fashion does it complete. It's a beautiful tiara in every way.
I, like the belived Queen Elizabeth, loves pearls. I prefer the pearls.
I hope it’s worn again,it was legitimately sold to Queen Mary helping out an old family friend or cousin from Russia!
Queen Mary bought the tiara from Princess Marina's mother. It was personally owned by Princess Marina's grandmother because it was a wedding present she received... Princess Marina married HLMTQ'S Uncle Prince George, Duke of Kent. When he was killed in WWII, there was no life insurance or pension, so Princess Marina had small children & no money. She was allowed to stay in an apartment at Kensington Palace, and was a working royal. If she had any family jewelry left, she would have gladly sold it. She was HLMTQ'S favourite aunt, so when she became monarch, one of the first things she did was to provide a modest income for Princess Marina as a working royal.
Its unfair & misleading for you to say that the Cambridge Emeralds "ended up" with Queen Mary. She inherited them from her parents who won them in the lottery.
Of course pearls, but the emerald parure us just STUNNING
Pearls! Thank you for this most interesting video. I enjoy all of your work.
Glad you like them! thank you🙏
Emeralds
For India in 1911, new crown & new tiara created because crown jewels cannot leave country. QM inherited Cambridge Emeralds from her parents & used them to adorn the tiara & other pieces.
This is a superb piece of jewelry. Maybe if the emeralds were thinner it would be the best look, but I feel that the ones used are just a bit too big for the tiara. Stick with the pearls. Had I been purchasing a tiara from the estate of the Grand Duchess, I would have gone with the sapphire kokoshnik that Marie of Romania bought.
The sapphire kokoshnik is magnificent!
The Sapphire KoKoshnik was offered to Marie before anything else was offered for sale
Pearls.
The house of Windsor is happy to give the Romanoffs jewelry at home, but not the Romanoffs themselves
George V immediately sent a ship that rescued many of the Romanovs, including his mother's sister, the Dowager Empress. By the time he sent special forces to Siberia, he was too late. He stalled because he was afraid of losing his throne just like most of the European Royals after WWI. It was a difficult time & it isn't fair to judge because we will never know everything... "There but for the Grace of God go I"
And, they did give a home to the refugee Romanovs who wanted to stay in the UK.
They are a weak lot of sychophants and they still are.
@@silvermoontearoom7123Goerge V did not save the Tsar because British were against simply
In fact the British were involve in Raspoutine killing as did not adviced the Tsar to enter in first World will be desaster for Russia empire

Queen Mary the kelpto
Queen Mary inherited the Cambridge Emeralds her parents won in the lottery. She grew up without money in an apartment in Kensington Palace with her parents & her brother because her mother was a first cousin of Queen Victoria. QV also arranged her marriage. Queen Mary loved jewelry, and her husband was very generous with his gifts to her. She did inherit at least 2 tiaras from her mother, too.
