- Codenames is a simple but fun and hilarious social puzzle board game. Two teams compete by each having a "spymaster" give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. The other players on the team attempt to guess their team's words while avoiding the words of the other team.

Loved watching Danielle giving a clue for certain words, and Fruit picking other words, but still being their cards.
This is my new favorite series from you, my man. Could not for the life of me tell you why, but I love this.
I love how Danielle says "Hymn" and fruit proceeds to sing 2 songs, neither of which are hymns. Lol. Love the Codenames videos!

As ex-military this made me laugh hard. They play it before going to sleep, but I imagined everyone panicking every night they play it

Both my parents were Marines :) From Google: "Taps" is a bugle call sounded to signal "lights out" at the end of a military day, and during patriotic memorial ceremonies and military funerals conducted by the United States Armed Forces. I just always remember my mom saying that hearing taps made her cry.
re: the first round, instead of giving the number of guesses left and saying out loud how many there actually are for the current word, you can just use the infinite option. it lets the ops guess as many times as needed but also risking how many words there are for the current clue since you can’t say, so it’s not as much of a cheat feel
anyway love codenames so much and this is a fun group for it too!
You can also do one additional guess over the number supplied by the spymaster.

Fruit’s last two words in the last round were manicure and rice. It makes sense why Claire said “Don’t do it!”

In the actual board game version of the game there is a rule were you can say infinity instead of a number to let players know to go for ones in the past. Do they have that on the online version?

CLARIFICATION: ofc you can play with whatever house rules you want but codenames has both 0 and infinity options that allow someone to pick as many words as they can, so inflating the clue number is allowed!

Just so you know, I cannot possibly let it pass without being a boardgame nerd, you can clue a word and say infinite, to allow people to guess as many as they want, and you can also clue a word and say zero, which works in the same way :)
But wait, giving a higher number than you actually mean to give extra guesses isn’t against the rules. Granted, Datto telling how many are supposed to be related is, but if he didn’t do that it’s not against the rules
Danielle could have put skin 4 and Fruit probably would have gotten all of them

I have to wonder who can see the cameras? Is it just for our viewing pleasure or can the spymasters see each other only and the operatives can see each other only? Regardless, seeing the faces that everyone makes when it’s something close or way off is hilarious.
